The Phelps Youth Pavilion is an interactive gallery, designed especially for the young and the young at heart. Located in the Waterloo Center for the Arts, the facility sits along the beautiful, downtown riverfront development in Waterloo, IA. Since opening our doors in 2008, over 50,000 visitors have had an opportunity to experience this magical world of art and culture. From driving a tractor through a Grant Wood painting to milking a life-size cow, learning has never been so much fun! The Phelps Youth Pavilion sparks creativity in everyone with its many interactive and exciting exhibits. Every child has the opportunity to become an actor, singer, or film director at the Fun Stage. Kids may put on performances with special lighting, costumes, and sound equipment. Children also learn about different cultures while putting on a puppet show at the Puppet Playhouse. The Playhouse features dozens of puppets and one-page folk tales from the Middle East, India, and West Africa. Also, dont forget to travel back in time in our Time Machine and view artifacts from different time periods with just the click of a button.
