Day Trip To Phillip Island | Penguin Plus, Koala Conservation Centre, The Nobbies
We had a great time on our day trip to Phillip Island from Melbourne. We jumped in our Hertz rental car and hit the road, the drive takes about two hours from Melbourne and is quite a pleasant drive!
Once on the island we visited Cape Woolamai, Shelley Beach, Cowes and the Nobbies which were all free (aside from fish and chips in Cowes which was only $9).
We then visited the Koala Conservation Centre which was $13 each and the Penguin Plus parade was $52 each (the normal seating is around $26).

Koala live in Koala Conservation Centre, Phillip Island, Australia
Koala Sanctuary - Phillip Island - Melbourne - Australia
I recently visited the Koala Sanctuary on Phillip Island, Melbourne, Australia.
Phillip Island is just over 2 hours from Melbourne, and home of the world famous Little Penguins. But while down there, make sure to pay a visit to the Koala Sanctuary, just 10 minutes from Cowes. It's worth a stop on the way to see Koalas in their natural habitat.
As far as I can tell, the Koalas are not actually locked in at the sanctuary, meaning they are free to roam in the wild but choose to stick around because they get fed and looked after by the park rangers.
The day we went to visit, we were lucky in that there were plenty of Koalas up and about, climbing the trees, walking the specially arranged branches, and doing tricks like jumping from trunk to trunk and hanging from branches while scratching their tummies with the back legs.
Check it out for yourself. Like, subscribe and let me know what you think.

PENGUINS and KOALAS (Phillip Island Road Trip!!!)
Phillip Island - Koala and Penguin, Victoria, Australia (Vlog 009)
Only a 90 to 120 minute drive from Melbourne, Phillip Island is a must do if you are visiting Victoria! We started our day at the Koala Conservation Centre and strolled around their well maintained grounds, looking above us to spot the beautiful bears! There's over 20 koalas in the sanctuary, and with raised boardwalks in the centre, you are bound to see a few. You'll see in the video we got super excited to see these beautiful creatures.
Phillip Island also has a gorgeous coastline so head to the little town Cowes and towards to Nobbies Centre to see some of the beautiful beaches in the area.
We finished our day at the penguin parade and it was an amazing experience seeing the Little Penguins coming in from a day at the sea and waddling up towards where they are going to sleep.
I filmed the beautiful scenery at this location however you are not allowed to film the penguins so the penguin footage in this video is from our trip to St Kilda.
If you are wondering why red torches are used in this footage... Penguins have sensitive eye sight so white torches, lights and flashes affect their vision. It is also believed that Penguins don’t see the red spectrum so these torches don't bother the little dudes.

Day 3 - Trip in Australia - Way to Churchill Heritage Farm in Phillip Island
On 22nd of Sep 2014 I went to Phillip Island to see the penguins. Phillip Island is about 130 Kms away from Melbourne. Churchhill heritage farm is located on a small separate island and it still been farming from the 1900s. This video was taken on the road to that farm.
