At last,it's time to the last footage of South China touring. the terminal destination is Phoenix Old town (Fenghuang Old Town). Although it's small ancient town in Hunan,China , But this small town has a lot of charming and beauty. i spended three day for capturing the beautiful scene. to be honest, I fucking love this town, so if you have a chance coming to China and pass the Zhangjiajie (the Avatar), you must come here, the Phoenix Old Town.
It's the time of going to South China. Hi all subscriber this is the third time that i went to China. Now i have just completed the South China Episode. Guangzhou , Xiamen , Foshan , Zhangjiajie and Fenghuang town. Thanks you for subscribe my channel.

Phoenix Ancient Town (aka Phoenix Ancient City or Fenghuang Old Town) is a small, charming ancient town in Hunan, China. Ancient Fenghuang, a village in central China, used to be a frontier town, separating the Han civilization from the Miao and Dong minorities. It was an important regional center for trade and cultural exchange. I'd heard great things about Phoenix Ancient City's beauty and it was only about a 3 hour bus ride from Guilin so I headed there next to explore and see what this off the beaten path ancient town was really like.

The ancient city of Fenghuang, the “most beautiful small town in China” by the New Zealand writer Louis Ai Li, is located in the southwest of Xiangxi, Hunan Province. It is a gathering place of ethnic minorities mainly composed of Miao and Tujia. The side of the hanging foot, numerous ancient buildings, and a strong Miao customs constitute a unique Xiangxi charm.

Fenghuang (Phoenix Ancient Town), Hunan, China
Fenghuang County (simplified Chinese: 凤凰县; traditional Chinese: 鳳凰縣; pinyin: Fènghuáng Xiàn; literally: phoenix county) is under the administration of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan province, China, bordering the prefecture-level cities of Huaihua to the southeast and Tongren (Guizhou) to the west. It has an exceptionally well-preserved ancient town that harbors unique ethnic languages, customs, arts as well as many distinctive architectural remains of Ming and Qing styles. The town is placed in a mountain setting, incorporating the natural flow of water into city layout. Over half of the city's population belong to the Miao or Tujia minorities. It was the centre of the unsuccessful Miao Rebellion (1854–73), which created a Miao diaspora in Southeast Asia during the last two centuries. The city is revered in Miao traditions and funeral rites and is the location of the Southern China Great Wall (中国南方长城; 中國南方長城; Zhōngguó Nánfāng Chángchéng; Miao: Suav Tuam Choj), a fortification built by the Ming dynasty to protect the local Han Chinese from Miao attacks. The ancient town of Fenghuang was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List on March 28, 2008, in the Cultural category. This ancient town was regarded as the most beautiful town in China by New Zealand writer Rewi Alley. It was built in 1704 and has 300 years of history. An ancient city is a gathering place for Miao and Tujia ethnic minorities.

China Tourism - Ancient Fenghuang town
Ancient Fenghuang, a village in central China, used to be a frontier town, separating the Han civilization from the Miao and Dong minorities. It was an important regional center for trade and cultural exchange.
The riverside setting of the village, with its wooden stilt houses and narrow mysterious back alleys, makes it one of the most attractive places in the region.
These days, it has become a major tourist destination. While some traditions remain, much of the town has been set up to cater for the influx of new visitors, in some ways changing the face of the village beyond recognition.
Either way, Fenghuang provides an interesting glimpse of the many challenges and contrasts that exist in China today.
