Unusual Photography Tours in Berlin | euromaxx
The German capital Berlin is popular with tourists who take countless pictures of must-see landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate, the city's TV Tower or Potsdamer Platz. But a couple of young entrepreneurs offer tours for amateur and professional photographers keen to capture some of Berlin's lesser-known backdrops - and they learn some interesting local history along the way.

Graffiti and Street-Art Tour in Kreuzberg SO 36, Berlin - Germany 4K Travel Channel
Our walking tour with Synke in Kreuzberg brought us a set of new experiences about an urban residential area, that also attracts the great street art artists of the world.
We met our blogger female friend Synke for the first time in Nantes. On the ITB Berlin she invited us to join her with the camera on a photographic safari through Kreuzberg, which we gladly accepted.
Meeting point was the suburban train station Silesian Gate. She gave us a short statement about her activities. In addition to her blog she organizes photo tours in Berlin and also conducts courses in photography. One of her specialty are bulb exposures at night, see
Further participants of the photo tour arrived and were cordially welcomed. Among them were photo-enthusiasts from Canada and Italy.
Synke first led us to a fallow area in the Curvystrasse. The area, originally overgrown with bushes, had turned into a camp by homeless persons. The artist BLU, whose Street art we have already seen in Athens, painted the surrounding façades. After the clearing of the camp, BLU painted over the paintings, presumably to not grant advantage to real estate speculators.
Next destination was the Oberbaum Bridge. On the way there we saw a number of street art, including another of BLU. From a distance we could take a look at the East Side Gallery.
The Oberbaum Bridge was planned as a follow-up construction of a former custom bridge. At the same time, Siemens & Halske received the permission to set up a railway bridge almost in the same place. One agreed on a common railway and highway bridge. The result was an impressive building.
But our destination lies somewhere else and so we turn around and go along the Skalitzer Street, past the former barracks of the 3rd Foot Guards, the Emmauskirche and the subway station Görlitzer Bahnhof.
When turning from the Oranienstrasse into the Manteuffelstrasse we see a beautiful painting of ROA, whose wolf we already admired in Rome.
We had planned to have breakfast in the historic market hall, but unfortunately, it was closed on Sunday.

Berlin Street Photography
Street Photography in the German capital in 2013. We were in Berlin in 2013 to spend some time, experience the city and its people and to gather interesting shots. The city is indeed very interesting a nice lookation for any visual art. All the images were taken on film, developed in home processing and later scanned. Hope you enjoy! If you've not yet come across the work of Juliette Mainx, the German creative, photographer and co-founder of EYECANDY Studios, one look at her Instagram will make you wonder how you missed it. Raised on the Mediterranean island of Majorca and now firmly established in Berlin's booming creative scene, Juliette has injected her bright pop-art-meets-minimalism style into campaigns for the likes of Levi's and Google, as well as her own rooftop apartment. We swung by to see how she does it all.

Visions of Berlin. I went on a long weekend several years ago with a Canon G3 (4 megapixel) camera, before I got the Nikon DSLR with Ais lenses. These are a small selection of pics.
Some are places and street, others are more abstract... enjoy!

Welcome back! Some weeks ago I visited Berlin for the first time ever! See, I am German, but it took me over 25 years to actually go and visit the city!! After staying there for just a couple of days, I do think it is indeed a beautiful place with loads to discover, especially in a photography sense.
So, again it was time to meet up with Photographer Trey Ratcliff for one of his renowned photo walks. If you have never attended one of those photo walks, then you missed out! Generally, it means that a lot of people get together and talk about photography, take pictures, and just share some time with the greatest hobby in the world (for me, that is). To give you an idea, I have compiled the above video in the hopes it gets you going to attend such events yourself - you will not regret it!
Oh, have I mentioned that this is a great opportunity to connect with other people in your area? You never know what kind of collaborations can come out of this.

Berlin Photojournalism Study Abroad: Profile Project
During the month of May 2017, I traveled to Berlin, Germany to study abroad with my class. During this time I had to conduct interviews, take photos, and create a 90-second photo slideshow about a person who lives in Berlin.
Janne Prager was born in Berlin, moved to Hamburg with her family, but came back to the city to study psychology. Outside of her college studies, the 21-year-old Berliner enjoys photographing the diverse city and its people. Seven years ago, Janne began her hobby of photography as she was battling cancer. Her grandfather's love for photography inspired her to pursue the art and helped with her recovery. Through photography she is able to see the world through a different lens, therefore helping her back into life after cancer. Janne enjoys the friendly people, atmosphere, and landscape that Berlin provides for her photography and personal enjoyment. In her free time, she likes to visit the many local parks and relax with her friends. She says being a part of Berlin culture is refreshing and inspiring.
This video was produced entirely by myself during my stay in Berlin.
