Best Places for Photography in Buenos Aires
To see the photos from Buenos Aires, check out my photography blog article with all the images:
On this episode I searched out the best places for photography in Buenos Aires. I had a full 4 days worth of photo-taking opportunities in the city and took full advantage. Obviously, some of top things to do in Buenos Aires revolve around capturing cool images of the interesting architecture, art, and street life. My search for the best things to photograph in Buenos Aires took me to 4 different locations. I photographed La Boca, Plaza de Mayo, La Recoleta Cemetery, and Puerto Madero.
Obviously, there are a lot of great things to do in Buenos Aires, but finding the best locations to photograph isn't all that hard. That being said, even though I found some really cool places in the city, you'd really need a week to do and see everything there is Buenos Aires.
Anyways, my time in Argentina has been awesome and my short stay in Buenos Aires capped it all off.
So, I want to know, have you shot photography in Buenos Aires? If so, what were your favourite places too shoot?

La Boca & El Caminito: Buenos Aires Photography
Today I shot photography in La Boca, Buenos Aires' most colorful neighborhood.

Today I got out to go shooting photography in a part of Buenos Aires I love to take pictures. El Caminito, which is a little area within the La Boca neighborhood is the most colorful neighborhood in Buenos Aires. In many ways, it kind of has a New Orleans vibe to it. It's colorful houses with balconies, and lots of street art. El Caminito is also the most touristy place in Buenos Aires. During the day, it's lined with tourists and salsa dancers looking to make a bit of money off of photos or quick lessons.
At night though, La Boca isn't exactly safe. And, as sunset hits most people leave El Caminito. As a photographer, though, you kind of have to stick around and wait for the light.
So, I stayed at El Caminito until it was fully dark taking pictures. Last time I was in La Boca, I got a couple photos that sold, so I really wanted to go back and see if I could get a couple new shots. The thing about travel photography, is there's always a need for new versions of destinations, so even though I've been to and photographed El Caminito a couple times before, it does make sense to make another trip to La Boca to get some more shots.
I should also mention, that if you're planning on visiting El Caminito in the evening, it is fine to do so now. There used to not be a police presence here, but now, the police stay until 10pm to look after tourists, which is fantastic. So, big shout out to them for sticking around and watching over me as I shot my travel photos.

Yifan Chang: A travel and photography lectures in Buenos Aires of Argentina

I'm Feeling Kind of Sh*tty in Buenos Aires
Honestly, I'm kind of ready to leave Buenos Aires.

Nothing against Buenos Aires as a city. I do like it, and I do recommend people to come here. But, I think it's just not for me at this point in my life. I'm overwhelmed by its size, and the sheer concrete jungle. And, it kind of has me a bit down.
Also, what's with all the dog crap everywhere in Buenos Aires? I challenge you to find one street in Buenos Aires, Argentina that doesn't have dog crap scattered all over it. Do people not pick up after their dogs in this city? And, there are some streets that are like dog crap mine fields. I'm serious when I say that Buenos Aires has a dog crap problem. It's nasty.
Aside from the dog crap, I do like Buenos Aires. I think maybe I'm just too far from the action. I also feel like I'm missing out on some mountains and nature. So, I'm really looking forward to my trip down to Patagonia.
In the evening, I did get up to the roof to do a Buenos Aires drone flight. That somehow always makes me feel better. Flying the drone, really anywhere, gets me out of a funk.
I think normally I'd just leave a city that was starting to make me feel apathetic. I'd just head to Patagonia now. However, I need to wait around here as my intern, Greg, is set to arrive in a week. So, maybe that's part of why I'm bored here in Buenos Aires. I don't have the freedom that I normally have. Also, the business side of things has been slow, so I've kind of just been hanging about answering emails, and waiting to hear back from potential clients. So, life just hasn't been all that exciting here in Buenos Aires or Argentina so far.
I'm sure that will change. I think I just need to get out a bit.
Until I can, there will be a few more vlogs from here Buenos Aires. I'm still planning on going to photograph La Recoleta. I might also do a quick trip to El Tigre or La Plata, just to escape the city a bit and get some more vlog content. We'll see in the week to come.
But, honestly, I'm ready to bail on Buenos Aires and go have some more adventures in the rest of Argentina.
