I'm still in Montenegro, and I'm still loving it. I've decided to do something drastic with my daily life, and switch myself to the night shift. I just think it makes so much more sense for my daily life. In the summer months, the sunrise and sunset are just too close together to get a full night's sleep between the two of them. Thus, here in Kotor, Montenegro, I've made the decision to sleep in the day, and then work throughout the night.
My daily schedule now looks like this:
3pm wake up
4pm breakfast
5-8pm photography
8pm-4am office work
4-7am photography
7am-3pm sleep.
So far, the results are awesome. It was a smart move! Oh, and Kotor? Well, this town in Montenegro is an absolute beauty.

Here in Kotor, Montenegro I got my DJI Phantom drone, Fido up for a flight over the church that I absolutely love. I love how the footage came out. It was likely my favourite drone flight yet. It was just the perfect scene for drone flying. Kotor continues to impress me as a travel destination. Montenegro in general just seems so ready to explore for tourism,
After flying the drone a bit, I also managed to go out and shoot some more classic photography around Kotor.

I had another awesome day here in Kotor, Montenegro. No, it was closer to perfect than it was awesome. I hiked above the bay of Kotor to some old fort, and then found a place to shoot some photography of the bay and the city itself. I had the trail and the location to myself, and the light was stunning. Yeah, it was pretty close to perfect.
The Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska), Montenegro By Armand Rroshi Photography
The Bay of Kotor (Montenegrin:Boka kotorska), is a winding bay of the Adriatic Sea in southwestern Montenegro. The bay, once called Europe's southernmost fjord, is in fact a air of the disintegrated Bokelj River which used to run from the high mountain plateaus of Mount Orjen.
The Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska), Montenegro
The bay is about 28 km long from the open sea to the harbor of the city of Kotor. It is surrounded by mountains of Orjen on the west and Lovćen on the east. The narrowest section, Verige strait, is only 300 m long. As of 2013, it can be crossed by a ferryboat, but Montenegro is planning to build a bridge to span the strait, the so-called Verige Bridge.
The bay has been inhabited since antiquity. Its well preserved medieval towns of Kotor, Risan, Tivat, Perast, Prčanj and Herceg Novi, along with their natural surroundings, are major tourist attractions. Natural and Culturo-Historical Region of Kotor has been a World Heritage Site since 1979.
The religious heritage of the land around the bay — its numerous Orthodox and Catholic Christian churches and monasteries — makes it one of the major pilgrimage sites of the region.

After the weather improved we jumped at the chance to wander the Old Town and Gates while hiking up to the Fortresses. For meals we ate a lot of seafood and other forms of local Montenegrin cuisine.

10 Things to do in Kotor, Montenegro Travel Guide Video Transcript: (Котор)
Good morning friends. We have made it to Montenegro. We're in Kotor (Котор) right by the water we're staying in the Old Town. We've been here a few days and it has been raining non-stop just like it was in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Like the first half of the week it just poured but now it is nice. We can't wait to explore this city so join us as we make a little travel guide.
If there’s one thing that had caught our attention upon arriving in Kotor (Cattaro), it was the fortifications that not only encircle the old town but also run all the way up into the mountain, so a hike up to Kotor Fortress was the first stop on our itinerary.
As a tip, we would say the best time to hike up to Kotor Fortress is in the morning because the path is shaded. This isn’t a huge consideration if you’re visiting in winter like we did, but definitely something to keep in mind if you visit in the summer.
The Cathedral of St Tryphon was built in honor of the patron saint and protector of the city, on the very same spot where an older church had already stood long ago. We paid our admission and went in to visit the cathedral’s very own museum.
After walking along part of the city walls, we stopped by the Sea Gate, which is the third entrance into the Old Town. As soon as you walk through here you’re met with a clock tower and a big square that’s encircled by restaurants and lots of little lanes that break away - basically it’s a great place to wander.
And now we want to show you one more restaurant that we enjoyed in Kotor (Cattaro). This one was called Cesarica and they specialized in seafood.
Lastly, if you want to enjoy a little evening stroll, the Port of Kotor is a beautiful place. Not only can you enjoy the city all lit up at night, but if you happen to be there on a day when the cruise ship pulls into town, it’s worth sticking around to watch it manoeuvre its way.
And that concludes our visit to Kotor (Котор). We hope you guys enjoyed following along and we’ll see you in the next video where we visit the neighbouring coastal town of Budva.

Head south to diminutive coastal Montenegro on this day trip from Dubrovnik. Take a scenic drive on the southern Dalmatian Coast and experience small Adriatic villages and towns, including the UNESCO-listed Kotor, situated in Europe’s southernmost fjord. Admire Sveti Stefan, a medieval island turned luxury hotel, and spend some time in Budva, a walled medieval town on the sea, like a mini Dubrovnik. Finish with a ferry ride back to Dubrovnik. Get picked up at your hotel in Dubrovnik and then hop inside the air-conditioned vehicle to make the drive south to Montenegro. Drink in the views of the Adriatic Sea and the Dubrovnik Riviera and learn about the history and culture of the area from your local guide. After crossing the border to Montenegro, twist and turn with the road, going around the large Bay of Kotor, and passing through charming villages along the way. Then stop in Perast, a lovely town at the base of St Elijah Hill. Consider taking the optional boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks island to check out the baroque-era church (at own expense). The next stop is Kotor, situated in a fjord and one of the most eye-pleasing Montenegrin towns. Once there, begin a walking tour that goes throughout the squares and narrow cobbled streets, taking you to historic churches such as the Cathedral of St Tryphon. Then take some free time to do some wandering — consider marching up the 1,350 steep steps to the San Giovanni Castle for an incredible view and photo opportunity — or sit down for a drink or a snack (at own expense). After Kotor, drive down the coast further until you reach Sveti Stefan (St Stephen). Once a medieval fishing village with a small inlet connecting it to the mainland, Sveti Stefani is now a luxury hotel. After gawking at the island-turned-resort, head to Budva, a 15-minute drive north of Sveti Stefan. This gorgeous walled city on the sea boasts attractive beaches and narrow cobbled streets. Take some free time to explore or sit down for a meal (at own expense). Take a ferry ride across the Bay of Kotor and then enjoy a final scenic drive along the coastal roads of Montenegro to end your day. You’ll be returned to your Dubrovnik hotel.
