THE BEST CAVE IN THAILAND - PHRAYA NAKHON CAVE (SAM ROI YOT)
The Phraya Nakhon Cave is one of the most exquisite caves in Thailand. Almost 300 kilometres south of Bangkok, located in the Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, this cave attracts a lot of tourists. Though you might have seen a few pictures of the place, the Phraya Nakhon Cave looks much more awesome in real. The Kuha Karuhas pavilion, inside the Phraya Nakhon cave, was built by King Chulalongkorn in the 1890, when he visited the place and fell in love with its beauty.
The up hill path leading to the cave is steep and rough. Along the way there are rest stops where you can take a breather and maybe enjoy the view of the sea below from the top. When you finally reach the pavilion you will definitely be dumbstruck. The sunlight streaming from the ceiling of the cave highlights the view beautifully. And you can’t miss the playful Languors clan, with their expressive faces and their long tails jumping around the Phraya Nakhon Cave.

Phraya Nakhon Cave. An amazing temple inside a hidden cave. Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park -Thailand
อุทยานเขาสามร้อยยอด : ถ้ำพระยานคร
The magnificent Phraya Nakhon Cave is one of the most mystical and mysterious landmarks of Thailand but only a few travellers get a chance to take a picture of it. The reason is simple: this gold and green pavilion is hidden inside a hard to reach cave and only a handful of dedicated visitors will do the effort to visit it. Those who do are rewarded with a stunning vision that looks like it's straight out of an Indiana Jones movie.
Phraya Nakhon Cave - Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park - Hua Hin Thailand
Exploring Phraya Nakhon Cave has been my most memorable experience so far during my time in Thailand.
Before visiting Hua Hin, I hadn't heard of the place - but luckily for me, I was told about it from a local.
My journey to Phraya Nakhon Cave started at the entrance to Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, in Prachuap Khiri Khan province.
The climb to the cave took me about an hour and a half (including time for taking the video) and was divided into two parts.
You can either climb up and across the hill - which I did to capture that amazing view - or take a 5 minute longtail boat to Laem Sala beach. I suggest taking the boat if you want to save a bit of time and/or conserve some energy.
The second part of the hike starts at Laem Sala beach. You'll see signs that point to the start of the rocky path to Phraya Nakhon Cave. About half way up the climb is a view point, and a well needed resting point, where you'll be treated to some more great views of the beach and neighboring islands.
The climb up the hill goes through a forested section, where I came across some monkeys chilling high above in some trees. From there, it's just another 20 - 30 minutes to the base of the cave...
...and the reward was awesome! I really hope you enjoy the footage:)

Phraya Nakhon Cave, Sam Roi Yot, Thailand
Phraya Nakhon Cave has two large chambers with collapsed roof. So they are not really caves, but huge dolines which are 65m deep and 50m wide, with overhanging walls, covered with plants and stalactites. Inside of one doline is a pavilion, built for a visit by King Rama V. in 1896. He stopped here on a travel from his summer palace back to Bangkok.

The Phraya Nakhon cave in Khao Sam Roi Yot national park is best known for the Kuha Karuhas pavilion in the main chamber. The pavilion was built at the end of the 19th century for the visit of King Chulalongkorn the Great (Rama V). The best views of the pavilion can be had early morning, when most sun light enters the cave through the open ceiling. If you are looking at seeing the best of Thailand then make a trip to see this Thai cave. This Thailand cave is located in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park in Prachuap Khiri Khan province. It takes about 45 minutes to Bang Pu village by car from Hua Hin.

Thailand cave temple - famous Phraya Nakhon cave in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park
Thailand cave temple - famous Phraya Nakhon cave in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. Actually the building thought to be a temple is a Royal Pavilion to celebrate King's visit in the cave.
The cave is really enormous. And really quiet. All you can hear is dripping droplets of water.
AMAZING.

The Cave Hua Hin, Phraya Nakhon Cave, Sam Roi Yot National Park, Thailand Travel Vlog
Phraya Nakhon Cave is located in the Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, a 50 minutes drive south of Hua Hin. First step to reach the cave is to drive to the small village of Bang Pu located by the beach, and from there decide if you'd rather rent a boat to take you around the cape to Laem Sala beach, or walk a 60 minutes trek above the hill leading to the same Laem Sala beach. Since the boat ride only costs 200 baht per person and considering that you still will have to climb 430 m of uneven and steep steps we recommend you save your energy and take this short ride to the cave. You can also combine a boat trip to the cave with Monkey Island, ask at the pier.

Phraya Nakhon Cave in Khao Sam Roi Yot Park
Phraya Nakhon Cave in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park
Within the Phraya Nakhon Cave in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park is the home of the Kuha Karuhas Pavilion, a part of Thai History. Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park is part of Prachuap Khiri Khan province and about a 45 minutes drive South of Hua Hin. The cave is located surrounded by beatiful Mountains and wildlife with magnificent views of beaches, mountains and forests.
The Phraya Nakhon Cave consists of two huge chambers and both chambers are open to the sky allowing the rays of the sun illuminate the chambers giving the cave a magical feel that is both tranquil and serene. The Phraya Nakhon Cave is best known for the Kuha Karuhas Pavilion found in the main chamber (shown in the photo above). The Pavilion was built at the end of the 19th century for the visit of King Chulalongkorn the Great (Rama V). The cave was later visited by King Prajadhipok (Rama VII) and the present King of Thailand, King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX). The cave wall of the main chamber contains the signatures of both King Rama V and King Rama VII, further documenting their royal visits.
Reaching the cave requires quite a bit of effort, beginning at the car park of Bang Pu village, where you can either take the trail across the rocky peninsula (around 30 minutes) or take a short longtail boat trip to Laem Sala beach. The boat round trip will cost around 300 Baht per person. Then it is just over 400 meters walk, mostly up hill on a steep and rocky path to the cave. There are great views of the beach, the sea and a number of small nearby islands of the way to the Cave.
