The Phsar Leu Market is the biggest traditional market in Sihanoukville. Located in the heart of the city at 7 Makara Street, the Phsar Leu Market is sprawled at a distance of 2 kilometers from the popular Ochheuteal Beach in Sihanoukville. Featuring sections which provide fruits, clothing, seafood, tailors, jewellery, barbers and Khmer food.

When we go to Sihanoukville, we mostly go to Phsar Leu market to buy fresh seafoods and have them cooked and bring to eat at the beach as if we order at the restaurant at the beach it will be very expensive. They have fresh fishes, shrimps, squids, big sea fishes in the market. They also have vegetables, pickled vegetables and many others. You can select to buy the fresh seafood you like and have them cooked instantly. That's really tasty, like at the end of video, you can see them chopping crabs and frying crabs at the kitchen behind Phsar Leu market. This video is just an idea of how to save some money and how to get fresh seafood cooked when you go to the beach at Sihanoukville in Cambodia in Southeast Asia.

Fresh Seafood at Phsar Leu Market - Sihanoukville - Cambodia
When going to Sihanoukville, people never forget to go to Phsar Leu (Leu Market) to buy fresh seafoods and have them cooked and packed in plastic boxes to eat at the beach. Well, that's because when we get to the beach and order foods from restaurant at the beach, it will be expensive and the seafoods are not fresh like we buy directly at the market and have them cooked. In this video, I'm showing activities of people selling seafoods and others inside Phsar Leu at Krong Preah Sihanouk in Cambodia. You can do it the same when you go to Sihanoukville or if you want to buy them, you can just go to the beach as they also have foods to serve you on the beach.

Phsar Leu Market in Cambodia, Sihanoukville, 29th july 2018. The biggest fruit market in Sihanoukville. Plenty of jackfruit, durian and other great fruits. Fruit price is slightly more expensive here compred to Kampot. 1000 calories of jackfruit is about 4 dollars. Durian is 5 dollar kilo. Watermelon 0.5 dollar kilo.

It's my last video at Phsar Leu Market in Krong Preah Sihanouk (Sihanoukville) in Cambodia, Southeast Asia. I walked to the fishes and veggie part of the market and checked out some street foods like Cambodian donuts, waffles, desserts, fruits, honeycomb, grilled fishes, seafood sauce in bottles and rice selling in the Market. Some people like to buy rice and foods from here to eat at the beach as it's cheaper and easy to choose. I bought some foods and fruits as well for lunch. My brother picked me up from Phsar Leu market around 10:30am and we traveled back to Phnom Penh city but we stopped for lunch at Picnil along National Road No.4.

It is a market at Sihanoukville city (many Cambodian people known as Kampong Som city). The market is called Phsar Leu or seafoods market where we can buy fresh seafoods and clothes to wear on the beach there. This market also have a service that when we order fresh seafoods they can cook for what we want, something thing like fried crabs with pepper, Tom_yum shrimp or squid...
In front of the market, there are pickle fruits like mangos and other fruits to eat with chili salt.

Sihanoukville Cambodia Vlog 037 The Phsar Leu (Upper Market) is a large traditional style market in the heart of Sihanoukville. Many locals shop at this market to get their fresh produce. This market was cheap and has everything from jewelry, shoes, clothes, art, crafts, vegetables, fresh seafood and meat. Eating Cats or Dogs is frowned upon in many places across Asia, however the Phsar Leu Market in Sihanoukville, Cambodia sells cat meat. Make sure you have a strong stomach for the smells and aromas in the meat section of the market because it’s not for the faint hearted. We try not to judge, but the sight of dead skinned cats was overwhelming and you could not help but feel a sense of sadness. Man’s best friend…. raw, skinned and ready cook up and eat. I guess we found answers to the age old question of Asian countries eating cats and dogs. Sadly, this is not a myth, it is a fact. One can only hope that these cats were treated humanely and had a happy life up until the end. We bought some king prawns , which were steamed on the spot for us to take away and they were very nice. The market is well worth a look, but keep an open mind when you are in the fresh meat section as some of the produce is confronting. Phsar Leu is located downtown on 7 Makara Street, about 200 meters off Ekareach Street.

Take Motor Taxi to Phsar Leu Market at Sihanoukville | Lots of Great Street Foods To Try
After breakfast, I took a motor taxi to Phsar Leu Market at Krong Preah Sihanouk (Sihanoukville) to see as I haven't been there for nearly 1 year. There's no much change from last year as I can find the fruit stalls and vendors in front of the front market entrance. They have lots of street foods in the market like banana cake, rainbow cake, sweet potato cake, Cambodian waffles, pineapple, boiled corns, duck eggs, quail eggs, noodle soup stalls and many others. I tried some of those foods and it's really good. The price for motor taxi from the 2 Lions circle to Phsar Leu market is 6000riel (USD1.50). I spent about $2 to try those street foods in the market.
