Kathmandu - The Most Beautiful City in the World
Kathmandu (/ˌkɑːtmɑːnˈduː/; Nepali pronunciation: [kɑʈʰmɑɳɖu]) is the capital and largest municipality of Nepal. It also hosts the headquarters of SAARC. It is the only city of Nepal with the administrative status of Mahanagar (Metropolitan City), as compared to Upa-Mahanagar (Sub-Metropolitan City) or Nagar (City). Kathmandu is the core of Nepal's largest urban agglomeration located in the Kathmandu Valley consisting of Lalitpur, Kirtipur, Madhyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur and a number of smaller communities. Kathmandu is also known informally as KTM or the tri-city. According to the 2011 census, Kathmandu Metropolitan City has a population of 975,453 and measures 49.45 square kilometres (19.09 sq mi).
The city stands at an elevation of approximately 1,400 metres (4,600 ft) in the bowl-shaped Kathmandu Valley of central Nepal.[5] It is surrounded by four major hills: Shivapuri, Phulchoki, Nagarjun, and Chandragiri. Kathmandu Valley is part of three districts (Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur), has the highest population density in the country, and is home to about a twelfth of Nepal's population.
Historically, the Kathmandu Valley and adjoining areas were known as Nepal Mandala. Until the 15th century, Bhaktapur was its capital when two other capitals, Kathmandu and Lalitpur, were established. During the Rana and Shah eras, British historians called the valley itself Nepal Proper. Today, Kathmandu is not only the capital of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, but also the headquarters of the Bagmati Zone and the Central Development Region of Nepal.
Kathmandu is the gateway to tourism in Nepal. It is also the hub of the country's economy. It has the most advanced infrastructure of any urban area in Nepal, and its economy is focused on tourism, which accounted for 3.8% of Nepal's GDP in 1995/96. Tourism in Kathmandu declined thereafter during a period of political unrest, but since then has improved. In 2013, Kathmandu was ranked third among the top 10 travel destinations on the rise in the world by TripAdvisor, and ranked first in Asia.
The city has a rich history, spanning nearly 2000 years, as inferred from inscriptions found in the valley. Religious and cultural festivities form a major part of the lives of people residing in Kathmandu. Most of Kathmandu's people follow Hinduism and many others follow Buddhism. There are people of other religious beliefs as well, giving Kathmandu a cosmopolitan culture. Nepali is the most commonly spoken language in the city. English is understood by Kathmandu's educated residents. Historic areas of Kathmandu were devastated by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake on 25 April 2015.Archaeological excavations in parts of Kathmandu have found evidence of ancient civilizations. The oldest of these findings is a statue, found in Maligaon, that was dated at 185 AD.The excavation of Dhando Chaitya uncovered a brick with an inscription in Brahmi script. Archaeologists believe it is two thousand years old. Stone inscriptions are an ubiquitous element at heritage sites and are key sources for the history of Nepal
The earliest Western reference to Kathmandu appears in an account of Jesuit Fathers Johann Grueber and Albert d'Orville. In 1661, they passed through Nepal on their way from Tibet to India, and reported that they reached Cadmendu, the capital of the Kingdom of Necbal.

Highest hill in Kathmandu valley || Phulchoki Hiking || Places to visit in Kathmandu ||
Phulchoki hill is one of the highest hills in Kathmandu valley. Its an altitude of 2,700 m above the Sea level. Phulchoki is popular for amazing viewpoint of Himalayas as well as religious propose because on the top of the hill is Phulchoki mai temple. It is Hindu a Hindu, Every Saturday the temple visits many devotees from Kathmandu valley. Typically the meaning of Phulchowki which means Hill of Flowers.
To start the hiking Phulchoki, We need to go the Godavari first and take right to the uphill towards the Phulchoki hill. The hiking trail is 27 km from Godwori, approx. 7 hours of walking. This hiking trail is also touched by the road 4 wheeler transportation and motorbike easily approached up to the top. However, hiking still fun, exciting. Hiking along in the Phulchoking is not recommended, we have few bitter histories, lost some of the people on the trail, I recommend to the hikers to go with friends or with the groups.
You will see plenty of short cuts trail on the way, many chances to lose your way so If you don't know the well the trails, Please follow the main trails.
Moreover hiking in Phulchoki is a nice hiking trail you will get a view from the eastern part of Annapurna range to Gaurishanker mountain in a clear day as well as you have close up view of Kathmandu valley is another great part of hiking. From Godawori to top hill there are no hotel or tea shops for your lunch, please carry plenty of water and foods for your appetite.

Awesome place near Kathmandu valley | phulchoki godawari

This 2700m foggy hill is almost always covered with thick fog, however, giving a pleasant view of the mountain area and the jungles around it. The road that is graveled intermingles with patches of black-topped road that are steep and rough at most of the places. The road, still, offers wonderful sceneries to watch and throughout your journey, you are accompanied by the rich natural beauty of the country. One needs to pass through rhododendron forest and also the National Botanical Garden which makes your journey full of natural beauties and views. The Phulchoki hill, too, is one of the most famous spots for bird watching and short hikes within the valley.
The place is also rich in iron ore deposits and has purple colored rocks scattered all over the road. The communication tower set atop the hill plays an important role in the proper functioning of the telephone and television networks in the area as well as a civil aviation of Kathmandu and the whole country because of which an army regiment garrison is set up in the area to safeguard the tower. Also a small temple dedicated to Phulchoki Mata (goddess) adorns the hill.
The hill situated at some distance from the crowded city of Kathmandu is quiet and peaceful with the mist covering it like it is wrapped in a thin white shawl. The place near, yet, far away from the hustle and nbustle of the city is one of the best picnic destinations in Kathmandu valley, however, going there is advised only if you have a larger group rather than just four or five. Moreover, it is one of the closest places to Kathmandu city for playing in the snow during the winters.

Lyrics:
I know you're out in Cabo
Hanging with your brother
Wishin' that I was your bottle
So I could be close to your lips again
I know you didn't call your parents
And tell them that we ended
'Cause you know that they'd be offended
Did you not wanna tell them it's the end
And I know we're not supposed to talk
But I'm getting ahead of myself
I get scared when we're not
'Cause I'm scared you're with somebody else
So I guess that it is gone
And I just keep lying to myself
I can't believe it
I, I miss you, yeah I miss you
I miss you, yeah I miss you, oh I do
I miss you, yeah I miss you
Though I'm tryin' not to right now
You weren't a fan of pictures
So I hardly ever took 'em
Got them saved in my mind from the bedroom
So that way I can't forget your skin
So I saved all the texts
All of the best over the years
Just to remind myself
Of how good it is
Or was
And I know we're not supposed to talk
But I'm getting ahead of myself
I get scared when we're not
'Cause I'm scared you're with somebody else
So I guess that it is gone
And I just keep lying to myself
I can't believe it
I, I miss you, yeah I miss you
I miss you, yeah I miss you, oh I do
I miss you, yeah I miss you
Though I'm tryin' not to right now
So I saved all the texts
All of the best over the years
Just to remind myself
Of how good it is
Yeah, I saved all the texts off of my ex
Minus the tears
Just to remind myself
Of how good it is
Or was
'Cause I miss you, yeah I miss you
I miss you, yeah I miss you, oh I do
I miss you, yeah I miss you
Though I'm tryin' not to right now
I can't help it, I just
Though I'm tryin' not to right now
How? I can't help it, I just

Phulchowki Kathmandu is at the altitude of 2700m which is highest point of kathamndu valley. We have around 1.5 hours of travel from Bhaktapur and We started our hike from godawari. It took 4.5hours to reach the top it was bit cold even in late summer. It will take around 2 hours if we chose shortcuts. It was great hike indeed and everyone should go for the hike instead of ride.
