Awa'awapuhi Trail (Waimea State Park)
Awa'awapuhi Trail is a 6.7 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Kekaha, Hawaii that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking and is accessible year-round. Very muddy trail for about 80%... Which is very slippery on the downward hike.

Elevation: Starts at 4,120 feet and ends at the lookout around 2,500 feet.

ピヘア トレイルはナパリコーストの切り立った断崖やカララウ渓谷の雄大な景観を真横に眺めながらその渓谷の緩やかな稜線を歩くとても贅沢なトレイルです。本当ならばビスタ分岐をさらに右接してAlaka'i Swamp(湿原）へとトレイルは続きますが今回は約3.2Km程のPihea Vistaまでの展望コースを歩きました。

From Mauka to Makai. Camping at the Kokee State cabins. Stops at Wailua Falls, Waipoo Falls, Waimea Canyon, and Kekaha beach. Some drinking, flip cup, friendly Canadians, etc. involved. Shot with a GoPro Hero3+ Black using a GoPole EVO. Edited and uploaded with iMovie app via iPhone 4S. Music: Island Girl by Conkarah.
Waimea Canyon State Park
11.1 miles north of Kekaha on Koke'e Road (Highway 550); adjoins Koke'e State Park.
Rim overlooks one of the State's scenic treasures--the deep, colorful gorge of Waimea Canyon. Also viewpoint of Ni'ihau Island, wildland picnicking and short nature trail. Adjacent forest reserve with long, strenuous hike into and out of the canyon.
Alakai Swamp Trail in Kauai, Hawaii
A fairly easy but LONG hike in Kokee State Park up Waimea Canyon. A total of 7 miles. For the most part, you are walking on a boardwalk. There's one small stream to pass. Trail might get slippery when raining but it was dry the day we went. Pretty orange flowers along the way with lots of lush greeneries. The lookout at the end gives you a beautiful view of the North Shore. Be sure to wear proper shoes, bring lots of water and snacks. Allow 4-6 hrs for the hike. Enjoy!

I've been wanting a second shot at Waimea Canyon Road from the other direction. This was my last day here, and I had only a few hours left, so I set out to find the road. My effort was rewarded.

Kalalau Beach in Kauai... at Sunset
After a 12-mile hike to the end of the Kalalau Trail on the Na Pali Coast on the north shore of Kauai, we were richly rewarded with a spectacular sunset.
Amazing!!!
