Velká Amerika je vápencový lom na území obce Mořina v okrese Beroun v České republice. Je největším ze skupiny zdejších lomů.
Velikost lomu je asi 750×150 metrů. Hloubka lomu bývá udávána v rozmezí 67 až 80 m.

Velká Amerika (Big America, Czech Grand Canyon) is a partly flooded, abandoned limestone quarry near Mořina village, in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic (in Beroun District).
It is 750 metres long, 150 metres wide and 67 to 80 meters deep.

Rakovník (Czech pronunciation: [ˈrakovɲiːk], German: Rakonitz) is a town in the western part of the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic located between the cities of Prague and Plzeň. It is located in varying landscape and the huge forest of Křivoklát. The location of the town influenced and still influences the way of life of the inhabitants. It has a population of approximately 16,000.

The first evidence of the settlement of the town is known from 1252. Křivoklát was the administrative centre at this time. Rakovník was a market village which together with other villages lies in and adds to the beautiful surroundings of Křivoklát castle. A great development of the town was fulfilled in the 19th century. It was the beginning of independent offices, new houses and a time when new streets were built. Some new roads were built and old roads repaired and Rakovník was connected to the surroundings towns. A grammar school was opened in 1833, where Zikmund Winter, a well-known writer used to teach in 1874 – 1884. In 1875 Otta´s soap factory was opened. It was later called “Rakona” and today it is “Procter & Gamble.” In 1883 a ceramic factory was established, now it is “Rakovník´s ceramic establishment.” Until 1918, RAKOVNIK - RAKONITZ was part of the Austrian monarchy (Austria side after the compromise of 1867), in the district of the same name, one of the 94 Bezirkshauptmannschaften in Bohemia.

Karlštejn (něm. Karlstein), v obrozenecké době nazýván také Karlův Týn[1], je středověký hrad, nacházející se v katastrálním území Budňany v městysi Karlštejn v okrese Beroun, asi 30 km jihozápadně od Prahy, uprostřed Chráněné krajinné oblasti Český kras. Základní kámen byl položen 10. června 1348 arcibiskupem Arnoštem z Pardubic. Podle tradovaného výkladu byl hrad zbudován kvůli ochraně říšských korunovačních klenotů a svatých ostatků, ty zde však spolu s českými korunovačními klenoty nalezly umístění až postupem času; Karlštejn byl původně budován pro Karlovy soukromé účely coby malé sídlo s jednou věží a až postupně se rozrůstal o části určené ke střežení klenotů.[2] V současnosti je hrad významnou národní kulturní památkou a jedním z nejnavštěvovanějších hradů v Česku. Hrad je přístupný veřejnosti, je ve vlastnictví České republiky a jeho správu zajišťuje Národní památkový ústav., Karlštejn Castle (Czech: hrad Karlštejn; German: Burg Karlstein) is a large Gothic castle founded 1348 CE by Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor-elect and King of Bohemia. The castle served as a place for safekeeping the Imperial Regalia as well as the Bohemian/Czech crown jewels, holy relics, and other royal treasures. Located about 30 km southwest of Prague above the village of the same name, it is one of the most famous and most frequently visited castles in the Czech Republic., Ка́рлштейн (чеш. Karlštejn, нем. Plzeň or Pilsen is a city in western Bohemia in the Czech Republic. It is the capital of the Plzeň Region and the fourth most populous city in the Czech Republic. It is located about 90 km (56 miles) west of Prague at the confluence of four rivers—the Radbuza, the Mže, the Úhlava, and the Úslava—which form the Berounka River.

The city is known worldwide for Pilsner beer. Plzeň was in September 2010 selected by an official jury to be put forward to join the Belgian city of Mons as the European capital of culture in 2015.

Plzeň is a centre of academic, business, and cultural life for the western part of the Czech Republic. The University of West Bohemia in Plzeň is well known for its School of Law, School of Mechanical Engineering and School of Applied Science in particular.

Since the late 1990s the city has experienced high growth in foreign investment. In 2007, Israeli mall developer Plaza Centers opened the Pilsen Plaza, a 20,000 m2 (5 acre) shopping mall and entertainment centre featuring a multiplex cinema from Cinema City Czech Republic.

Plzeň produces about two-thirds of the Plzeň Region GDP, even though it contains only 29.8% of its population.[8] Based on these figures, the city of Plzeň has a total GDP of approximately $7.2 billion, and a per capita GDP of $44,000. While part of this is explained by commuters to the city, it is one of the most prosperous cities in the Czech Republic.

The Škoda company, established in Plzeň in 1859, has been an important element of Austro-Hungarian, Czechoslovak and Czech engineering, and one of the biggest European arms factories. During the Communist era (1948--1989) the company's production had been directed to the needs of the Eastern Bloc. Disarray in the era after the Velvet Revolution, and unsuccessful efforts to gain new Western markets, resulted in sales problems and debts. After a huge restructuring process the company now has just two principal subsidiaries: Škoda Transportation (locomotives, underground trains and trams, which have been sold to Portland, Oregon; Tacoma; Seattle and Sardinia) and Škoda Power (turbines) now owned by the UK company.

Many foreign companies now have manufacturing bases in Plzeň, including Daikin and Panasonic. There has been much discussion of redeveloping those large areas of the Škoda plant which the company no longer uses.

Plzeň also has the biggest distillery (Stock) in the Czech Republic.
