Wildcat Den State Park Muscatine Iowa
One of the focal points of the park is the Pine Creek Grist Mill located in the eastern part of the park on Pine Creek. The mill was built in 1848 by Benjamin Nye, one of Muscatine County's first settlers who also built the county's first store and post office in 1838. The Pine Creek Grist Mill is one of the finest examples of mid nineteenth century mills left in the country and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Friends of Pine Creek Grist Mill and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources is working to restore the mill to its original condition. The turn of the century Melpine Schoolhouse is located near the mill and offers park visitors another glimpse of Iowa's past.

Wildcat Den State Park | Iowa By Air
Along the Mississippi River in Muscatine County Wildcat Den State Park showcases miles of hiking trails, rock formations and several historic structures. The signature building at Wildcat Den is the 1848 Pine Creek Gristmill and Pine Mill Bridge. Built in the mid-1800s, the Pine Creek Gristmill stands as a living museum to the milling processes of more than a century ago. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979, the Mill and its nearby bridge are fully accessible to visitors...looking to see a piece of history in an Iowa state park. The Pine Creek flows past the Grist Mill…under the bridge...and beyond the borders of Wildcat Den State Park…merging with the Mississippi River only a few miles downstream. All making Wildcat Den a signature destination to explore Iowa by Air.

Muscatine, Iowa--Fuller Park
played Hill and I hit up Fuller Park on the summer solstice of 2014. The first three holes are open. then we approach the woody and hilly section of the course on the 4th hole. We really enjoyed playing this course. This was as far west as we have so far, about 20-something miles west of Davenport. Iowa Rt. 22 from Davenport to Muscatine is a nice scenic cruise along the Mississippi.

Mr. & Mrs. Sweeney - February 25, 2017
Liz and Patrick eloped on a chilly February afternoon at one of their favorite trails at Wild Cat Den State Park with only their closet family present! It was one of the sweetest, most intimate weddings I've ever had the honor of photographing. Liz planned the most perfect, simple decor for a simple, yet classy ceremony and reception. Beautiful greenery and cozy blankets made the day seem warmer than it was! These are only a handful of my favorites! So many sweet moments from this wedding!
