Camping Pinery Provincial Park Grand Bend, Ontario
Camping at Pinery Provincial Park. Finding out you have no internet while camping can be hard. This is how we showed the kids that you can have fun without internet. Fun, the good old-fashion way. We go for a hike on one of the many trails offered at the park. We go for ice cream at a must stop place on the main strip in Grand Bend. We roast maple flavoured marshmallows. We go to a show that Pinery puts on. We gear up for an adventure on the rough waters and, of course, we go to the beach! Grand Bend has one of the best spots for sunsets.

Spent a night camping at the pinery provincial park which is about 14km from Grand Bend. I paddled the Old Ausable River to the mouth of Huron.

We had a great short weekend camping at the pinery provincial park. It was super cold early may. Water and juices freezing over night. We still loved it! We enjoyed a long 5 hour hike form our site in riverside bushwhacking all the way to burley beach.

PINERY PROVINCIAL PARK CAMPING | APR 14-17 2017
To start off the camping season, we ventured to Pinery Provincial Park for an Easter getaway. 2.5-3 hours drive away from Toronto, the park sits along the coast of Lake Huron and just underneath Grand Bend. The park is HUGE with lots of camp sites and accommodates tents, RVs and even offers yurts. The campsite didn’t seem too strict about anything and entry was quite smooth. The park has its own beach, the Ausable river, and lots of biking and hiking trails. It also has a lot of clean, flushing washrooms with sink and shower rooms. In my opinion, the park seemed too resort-like, almost unnatural with the amount of human intervention, but for new campers, it definitely is a good start.

We went camping in grand bend with a few friends this past week, it ended up raining most of the day but we made the best of it.
we got some clear skies at 7pm for a few hrs and had to hit the beach up well we could.
cant wait to go back to the dunes, such a great place.

Shot March 16th-17 2015 - Pinery offers one of the nicest and longest beach of any Provincial Park, plenty of sand and it stays shallow a fair way out with sand bars to find. Along the beach there are plenty of wheelchair accessible platforms to lookout from adjacent to parking lots. There are quiet a few trials and plenty of paved road to ride with a large visitors center, making it great for just day trips even. In fact if you wanted to road bike a park, this would be the one. There are a variety of sites to offer different needs, such as backing onto thick woods, the river, or walk out the back of your site to the beach. Remember to book early for summer weekends.
