Hangzhou in China is really scenic. Its winter when I visit Hangzhou. Out of my expectation, I feel like Hangzhou is way colder than Beijing as heater is not common in the south part of China. Wuzhen is heaven for those who loves street food and Xihu is definitely the prettiest ( biggest ) lake I’ve ever seen till now.This trip with my pal aka tour guide / photographer / choreographer is really memorable.

Theres a lot of tourist spots around Xihu, travellers can choose to visit some significant places but not all of them because some are similar. A good planning is needed because certain spots are just near to each other, you do not want to waste your time on travelling to the same place twice. Shuttle bus are available around Xihu, and it cost around 2-4RMB per trip. :)

When I started practicing this particular piano piece, Placid lake under the autumn moon, within a couple of days of practice I was compelled to visit Hangzhou. It turns out that the composer wrote this piece while he was visiting Hangzhou, according to an internet article that I read. Some other Youtube videos with close-up pictures of the Westlake Impressions evening show have reasonably nice, romantic pictures. (Romantic in the literary sense.)

Autumn Moon Over the Calm Lake (平湖秋月) is a Chinese folk song that was written by Lü Wencheng in the 1930s and is considered his most representative piece. He composed the music on a visit to the famous West Lake in Hangzhou, and is a sublime expression of his veneration for the beauty and grace of the scenery. The West Lake has been considered since the ancient times as a gorgeous place of tranquility, and the music illustrates the atmosphere and feel of the place with placid suppleness. Wencheng incorporated elements of the Zhejiang folk music with the Guangdong style for which he is most famous for.

Suzhou is one of the most beautiful city in China, which is called Eastern Venice and heaven. The city is renowned for its beautiful stone bridges, pagodas, and meticulously designed gardens which have contributed to its status as a great tourist attraction. Since the Song Dynasty (960-1279), Suzhou has also been an important centre for China's silk industry and continues to hold that prominent position today.

Suzhou embroidery together with embroidery of Hunan, Sichuan and Guangdong are called as
the Four Famous Embroideries. Suzhou tapestry method is done in fine silks and gold thread. Other art forms found in this area are sculpture, Song brocade, jade and rosewood carving.
