Amazing Pinnacles Walk New Zealand
An overnight hike to the Pinnacles from the Kaueranga Valley in the Coromandel Forest Park. Walking up the historic packhorse route used by the Kauri bushmen, so so many steps, but rewarded by spectacular views from the 759 metre summit. It was a stunning hot summers day, and the wine we carted in tasted amazing at the top! Another tick on the bucket list!

We take a walk in the AMAZING into Lord of The Rings country - Putangirua Pinnacles - NEW ZEALAND
Join us as we explore Putangirua Pinnacles. The Putangirua Pinnacles are a geological formation and one of New Zealand's best examples of badlands erosion. They consist of a large number of earth pillars or hoodoos located at the head of a valley in the Aorangi Ranges, on the North Island of New Zealand, in the Wellington region.
❤️
You don't have to travel far to find yourself in another world. The Putangirua Pinnacles are just an hour's drive from Martinborough.
❤️
This spot has star quality too - Peter Jackson (a local guy, you might have heard of him) filmed here for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The pinnacles are an hour's drive south of Martinborough or a little longer from Featherston. When you see your first Pinnacles, you'll be wowed! But keep going the rock formations become absolutely incredible.
❤️
From the carpark you can walk up through a defined bush walk to the viewing platform down onto the Pinnacles. Then make your way down into the valley. Make sure you walk up the riverbed to the very best formations.
❤️
So if you've never considered a cruise before, we hope this inspires you to make your next holiday a cruise.
❤️
Alternatively the route from the carpark straight up the valley to the Pinnacles changes with the river flow. Hop, skip and jump the water flow and then turn left up the gravelly riverbed. Keep going to the top; you won't be disappointed.
Allow at least two hours return and take food and water with you.

Cape Palliser to Stonewall by 4WD - 3 October 2017
I have videoed my last trip to the Stonewall area in through Cape Palliser. I haven’t edited it so you can just skip through the slow bits. It’s in three parts. The Desert is the far Northern end of the block – the Rock Garden is a tricky part of the drive in. The video is particularly useful for anyone driving in, however you can walk or mountain bike etc from Cape Palliser. It’s only a few k’s to get to the stream and waterfall. The images are a bit shaky this time unfortunately so I’m working on a shock absorber for the camera support and settings to help that. It shouldn’t matter for people who need to see what the terrain is like and what to expect.

Trip to: Putangirua Pinnacles, Cape Palliser + Seals!
Hi, this video is about a one day trip to Putangirua Pinnacles and Cape Palliser (Wellington area, New Zealand)! It was amazing trip! We also saw seals!
Exploring Cape Palliser & Putangirua Pinnacles - Wellington & Wairarapa Part 3 #Vanners
We are in the southernmost part of the North Island for this trip. In part three we first visit a LOTR location - Dimholt Road (AKA The Path of the Dead). Eerie and spectacular.
The next stop is the small village of Ngawi, where we stay on the waterfront in a freedom camping spot. It's a great base to hang out if you want to go to Cape Palliser but have a long vehicle which won't get through the very narrow roads. We left our caravan at Ngawi just taking the car to the lighthouse.
We explore Cape Palliser doing a quick treck up the steps to see the lighthouse, then we go on a bit of a mission to find a secret waterfall that someone told us about. And even though it is the middle of winter, extremely windy and the water is freezing, we want to have a swim!

Nz Bush walk. Tararua forest park, Wairarapa New Zealand
Here is a quick video on our favourite bush walk, Tararua forest park, Mount holdsworth, 17 minutes drive from Masterton, New Zealand. It is such a beautiful place to be, the sweetness of the air, the native New Zealand bush is just heaven!
Putangirua Pinnacles HD - The Paths Of The Dead
Putangirua Pinnacles
The “badlands erosion” of Putangirua Pinnacles is a spectacular landscape feature attracting many visitors to the southern Wairarapa.
When the Aorangi Range was an island, 7 to 9 million years ago, screes poured gravels onto the coast, much as they do today around Cape Palliser.
Lord of the Rings filming location
The eerie scenes in The Return of the King as Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli ride along the Dimholt Road to meet the Army of the Dead were filmed against the surreal backdrop of the Pinnacles.
Hiking the Pinnacles, Waikato, New Zealand
Hiking in the Pinnacles (yes I did spell it wrong in the video, too lazy to fix it), a bit of footage of the landscape pertaining to the beauty of New Zealand.
As always, music goes to the respective owner(s).
