Pioneer Hotel | Laughlin, NV - Review
This was my first stay at the Pioneer in Laughlin and my brother and I stayed there due to a family emergency mainly because of the price for the room. I read some of the reviews at Trip Advisor and decided to take the gamble and a gamble it was.
Pros:
The room price was just right at $40 a night with that being said I knew it wasn't going to be as nice as the Aquarius which is $25 more a night, we did however have a river view and the outside grounds were nice. The air conditioner was very cold and the sun blocking drapes helped keep most of the sun out.
All together I got $15 of free game play for first joining up as a card member, then for the rib dinner and lastly for the prime rib breakfast.
Cons:
When you check in Pioneer puts a $50 security deposit on the room until you checkout. The room itself wasn't so nice however not horrible and I have stayed at worse. The carpets were stained and very dirty looking, the beds were cheap, old and when you laid on them you could feel the springs in you back. There was a stain on my brothers bedding that looked like poo. The room does not have hair dryers nor ironing boards and iron. The shower curtain fell on my brother after he tried he put his towel on it to dry. We both had to laugh and put it back up for the next fool to stay here and use the shower. The bathroom sink must have been made for little people because it was so low to the ground and the mirror was blocked by the light fixture so trying to get ready and do your hair was horrible. You had to bend down just to see yourself. The TV was defiantly dated be an old school 19.
Dinning:
We received a complimentary breakfast that was quite good, however at dinner we had the all you can eat ribs and let's just say I will never have that again. Those ribs were old, hard and nasty! The Sunday prime rib buffet was quite good though.
Conclusion:
If you are tight on money save up just a bit more and stay at the Aquarius, Tropicana Express with the updated rooms. If you are really on a budget I guess it would be ok however I wouldn't suggest it.

After I delivered at the Riverside Casino in Laughlin, NV, I drove around for a short time. Then I crossed the river to Bullhead, AZ for gas. Gas was a lot cheaper there.
