Vancouver boasts one of North America's oldest and largest Chinatowns and your tour takes you through its colorful streets. Chinese immigrants first arrived in the province of British Columbia during the Fraser Gold Rush in the 1850's. Many were imported to build the railway tracks and then settled in the area. Through the “Millenium Gate” you will find a world that is still steeped in tradition and Chinese culture. Asian architecture can be seen around every corner and the alleys teem with restaurants, import shops and exotic delights.
Continue on to Vancouver's Gastown, a refreshing mix of old and new with cobblestone streets, quaint courtyards and Victorian-style buildings. The district was named after prospector and riverboat captain John “Gassy Jack” Deighton, named for his “hot air” and tall tales. Legend has it that Gassy Jack stepped ashore in 1867 with a barrel of whiskey, surveyed the area and its lack of drinking establishments and told the local mill workers that if they would build him a saloon, he would serve the drinks. The saloon was up and running in less than a day and Gastown was born.

Vancouver Haunted Trolley Car & Travel
Vancouver, British Colombia: My Nephew and I took our first trip to Canada and visited the amazing Capilano Suspension Bridge and lunched at the reportedly haunted Old Spaghetti factory in historic Gastown.
The Old Spaghetti Factory in Gastown has an antique trolley car inside that is said to be haunted by its conductor. I filmed the interior of the car and this is what I found!

PNE/Playland had been at the top of my To-Do list for the longest time but it just never seemed to happen. Things always came up and kept me from traveling to Vancouver, well, until this summer. I finally made my trip to Playland to ride Coaster... and I was 100% not disappointed. Coaster was absolutely everything I wanted it to be. Not only was it the best coaster I've ridden in Canada but its flat out one of *the best* coasters I've ridden... period... And I've been on over 970 of them. The ride was incredible and truly is a masterpiece as far as coasters are concerned. The park is also filled with awesome HUSS flat rides and since I visited during the Pacific National Exhibition, the ride midway had been expanded to feature rides not always apart of the normal Playland amusement park. woo.

When I told people that I was going to travel the Inside Passage on a sailboat, they all warned me not to fall in love. I had already visited the area around Vancouver in 2010 on a around the world trip during which I had decided to buy a sailboat and to Untie The Lines. Back then, I made the promise to come back one day to this lovely strech of land. And here I am, nine years later...falling in love all over again with the rugged coastline of British Columbia.

In this short video, We are sailing from Canada to Hawaii, this is what life down below is like, swallowing sea sick tablets, cooking and talking about our 30 day passage.
Days were flying by, layers of clothes started peeling off and we were dreaming of hot showers and yummy food.
Having no fridge, no shower ,a stove fuelled by wood, no cockpit and hanking the sails on then end of a 10ft bowsprit made this sailing voyage a real adventure!!
