Falling in Love with Pisac, Peru!
I absolutely fell in love with Pisac, during my time in Peru! And I think it's a great destination for solo female travel, as the town is quaint & small ~ plus, filled with great markets!
Blog Post on Pisac:
Pisac market, Sacred Valley, Peru
Pisac's famous Sunday market is a colourful, indigenous market where local quechua communities travel from their mountain villages high in the Andes to sell their produce and handicrafts and buy supplies.Definitely not to be missed if you are visiting Cusco or Machu Picchu!

SUNDAY PISAC MARKET | Sacred Valley of the Incas | Cusco Day Trip to Pisac Peru
Part 1 of our day trip to Pisac, Peru.
Today, we boarded a colectivo (shared bus) to do one of the most popular Cusco Day Trips, a day visit to Pisac Market. This Cusco to Pisac ride costs only 5 Peruvian Soles, or less than 1.50 USD!
The Market in Pisac is considered to be one of the must visits in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It's the the biggest market in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Due to its popularity, this market in Pisac happens three times a week (Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays). But the Sunday Pisac Market is still the best day to experience this colorful place.
At 11 am, they have a Catholic mass at the Iglesia de San Pedro Apostol, the main church in Pisac. The mass is in the Quechua language, and locals show up in colorful traditional Andean clothing.
We also visited the Horno Colonial San Francisco, one of the communal ovens in town. It is a clay oven, mainly to cook cui (guinea pig) or empanadas. A very interesting scene to check out in Pisaq!
This is part 1 of our Pisac Day Trip, which only includes the Pisac Market on Sunday. Part 2 is coming up next, which will take you on a two-hour hike to the Pisac Ruins.

Peru - Pisac - Inca Citadel on Urubamba Valley - South America part 54 - Travel video HD
South America trip.
A vital Inca road once snaked its way up the canyon that enters the Urubamba Valley at Pisac. The citadel, at the entrance to this gorge, now in ruins, controlled a route which connected the Inca Empire with Paucartambo, on the border of the eastern jungles. Set high above a valley floor patch-worked by patterned fields and rimmed by vast terracing, the stonework and panoramas at Pisac's Inca citadel are magnificent. Terraces, water ducts and steps have been cut out of solid rock, and in the upper sector of the ruins, the main Sun Temple is equal of anything at Machu Picchu.

Mercado de Písac
kipu.com
franciscomariategui.com
33 kms of Cusco, it's one of the most important towns of the region. The famous market is obligatory stop for tourists. The beautiful, colorful, and delicate handicraft work causes delight.
