Sea Fury - RAF Cosford Airshow 2013
A lovely display from the Royal Navy Historic Flight's Hawker Sea Fury T20. VX281, G-RNHF, at the RAF Cosford Airshow 2013.
The Sea Fury was the Fleet Air Arm's last piston-engined fighter to serve in front-line Squadrons. The prototype Sea Fury first flew on 21 February 1945 and carried out deck landing trials in HMS Ocean in October of that year. The first production aircraft (Mk.F.10) flew on 15 August 1946 and the first Squadron, No.807, re-equipped with F.10s at the Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose in late 1947. The first Squadron to fly with the FB.11 variant, No.802, re-formed in May 1948. In all, fifty Sea Fury F.10s were built, followed by 615 Sea Fury FB.11s, the last of which came off the production line in November 1952.
A 2-seat trainer variant, the T.20, was also produced with the prototype flying in January 1948. A total of 60 of these aircraft were built.
When the Korean War broke out in 1950, the Sea Fury was the Fleet Air Arm's leading single-seat fighter, and it fought with great distinction during the conflict. Sea Fury squadrons involved in Korea were 802 Squadron (HMS Ocean), 807 Squadron (HMS Theseus), 801 and 804 Squadrons (HMS Glory) and 805 and 808 Squadrons (HMAS Sydney). The aircraft were mainly used in the ground attack role armed with bombs and rockets, but they were also engaged in air-to-air combat with the much faster MiG-15. On 9 August 1952 a Flight of Sea Furies from 802 Squadron flown by Lieutenants Carmichael and Davis, and Sub-Lieutenants Haines and Ellis, were on an armed reconnaissance flight in an area just North of Chinimpo when they were attacked by eight enemy MiG-15s. Despite the enemy's superiority in numbers and a 200 mph speed advantage, the Sea Fury pilots shot down one MiG and badly damaged two others without incurring any damage to their own aircraft. As Flight leader, Lieutenant Carmichael was officially accredited with the 'kill' and was subsequently awarded the DSC for his heroism, but all of the other pilots officially claimed their quarter share.
With the advent of the introduction into Fleet Air Arm service of jet aircraft such as the Sea Hawk, the Sea Fury was relegated to second-line duties, with many being employed by the Air Branch of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. After the premature axing of the RNVR units in 1957 the majority of Sea Furies were sadly scrapped. Happily a handful survived to see service with the civilian-run Fleet Requirements Unit, used as 'flying targets' for the training of RN ship crews, until finally being retired in 1962 -- the final piston-engined, fighter-type aircraft to see service in Royal Navy markings.

Sea Fury T20 with c/n ES.3615 was built in 1948 and served with the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm until 1956. She was then stored at Hawker-Siddeley Aircraft Ltd, Langley, from 1957 until 1963 when she was sold to Germany to be used as a target tug. In Germany she served with the Deutsche Luftfahrt Beratungsdienst and was painted in an all-red colour scheme with registration D-CACO. Aside from target towing, her other duties included gun laying work for the German Air Force and Army. She was retired in 1974.
She was sold to Doug Arnold Warbirds of Great Britain Ltd, on October 11, 1974 and was registered G-BCOW. She stayed with this owner until 1977 when she was bought by Spencer Flack in Elstree in February 1977. She then left for the United States to be registered as N8476W, flying air races with Dale Clarke, Gardena California. Her racing number was 40 and she was named Nuthin Special.
When Dale Clarke set up Liberty Aero Corporation she was registered under this company from June 1984 until March 1988 when she changed location to Santa Monica, California with registration N281L, still owned by Liberty Aero Corporation. Here she got a Royal Navy livery and was named Dragon of Cymru. In 1993 she was sold to Wally Fisk from Amjet Aircraft Corporation, St Paul, Minnesota on Septemtember 16, 1993. She flew with Amjet until 2000 when she went to Zager Aircraft Corporation, Cupertino, California until 2002.
In March 2007 an anonymous benefactor acquired her from the USA and donated it to the Royal Navy Historic Flight. Since the loss of WG665 the RNHF was in need of a big piston trainer to be added to the RNHF fleet. Unlike the other RNHF planes she was registered with a civil registration on June 1, 2007 when the US registration was cancelled and the UK registration G-RNHF was applied.

Hawker Hunter Miss Demeanour and Sea Fury - Dunsfold Park Surrey Wings and Wheels 2012 1080p HD
Hawker Hunter Miss Demeanour and Hawker Sea Fury at Wings and Wheels, Dunsfold Park Surrey. 26th August 2012.
The Hawker Hunter is a subsonic British jet aircraft developed in the 1950s. The single-seat Hunter entered service as a maneuverable fighter aircraft, and later operated in fighter-bomber and reconnaissance roles in numerous conflicts. Two-seat variants remained in use for training and secondary roles with the Royal Air Force (RAF) and Royal Navy until the early 1990s. The Hunter was also widely exported, serving with 21 other air forces; 50 years after its original introduction it is still in active service, operating with the Lebanese Air Force.
On 7 September 1953, the modified first prototype broke the world air speed record, achieving 727.63 mph (1,171.01 km/h). Hunters were also used by two RAF display teams; the Black Arrows, who on one occasion looped a record-breaking 22 examples in formation, and later the Blue Diamonds, who flew 16 aircraft. Overall, 1,972 Hunters were produced by Hawker Siddeley and under licence. In British service, the aircraft was replaced by the English Electric Lightning, the Hawker Siddeley Harrier and the McDonnell Douglas Phantom.
The Hawker Sea Fury was a British fighter aircraft developed for the Royal Navy by Hawker during the Second World War. The last propeller-driven fighter to serve with the Royal Navy, it was also one of the fastest production single piston-engined aircraft ever built. Exported to a number of countries, it acquitted itself well in the Korean War even against the MiG-15 jet aircraft.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written
language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding

SUMMARY
=======
Nikola Tesla (; Serbo-Croatian: [nǐkola têsla]; Serbian Cyrillic: Никола Тесла; 10 July 1856 – 7 January 1943) was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, and futurist who is best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system.Born and raised in the Austrian Empire, Tesla received an advanced education in engineering and physics in the 1870s and gained practical experience in the early 1880s working in telephony and at Continental Edison in the new electric power industry. He emigrated to the United States in 1884, where he would become a naturalized citizen. He worked for a short time at the Edison Machine Works in New York City before he struck out on his own. With the help of partners to finance and market his ideas, Tesla set up laboratories and companies in New York to develop a range of electrical and mechanical devices. His alternating current (AC) induction motor and related polyphase AC patents, licensed by Westinghouse Electric in 1888, earned him a considerable amount of money and became the cornerstone of the polyphase system which that company would eventually market.
Attempting to develop inventions he could patent and market, Tesla conducted a range of experiments with mechanical oscillators/generators, electrical discharge tubes, and early X-ray imaging. He also built a wireless-controlled boat, one of the first ever exhibited. Tesla became well known as an inventor and would demonstrate his achievements to celebrities and wealthy patrons at his lab, and was noted for his showmanship at public lectures. Throughout the 1890s, Tesla pursued his ideas for wireless lighting and worldwide wireless electric power distribution in his high-voltage, high-frequency power experiments in New York and Colorado Springs. In 1893, he made pronouncements on the possibility of wireless communication with his devices. Tesla tried to put these ideas to practical use in his unfinished Wardenclyffe Tower project, an intercontinental wireless communication and power transmitter, but ran out of funding before he could complete it.After Wardenclyffe, Tesla experimented with a series of inventions in the 1910s and 1920s with varying degrees of success. Having spent most of his money, Tesla lived in a series of New York hotels, leaving behind unpaid bills. He died in New York City in January 1943. Tesla's work fell into relative obscurity following his death, until 1960, when the General Conference on Weights and Measures named the SI unit of magnetic flux density the tesla in his honor. There has been a resurgence in popular interest in Tesla since the 1990s.
