St. Lucia Caribbean Vacation - Hiking the Pitons
This year we decided to celebrate Thanksgiving in St Lucia, escaping Michigan's winter weather. The highlight of our trip to St. Lucia was hiking the Pitons (Gros Piton). Our local driver said we were crazy and while that might be true the view was worth it. Luckily we had a nice breeze during our climb, it's known to get uncomfortably hot. If anyone sees our guide Elvin, please tell him that we said hi!
We stayed at James Club Morgan Bay, Saint Lucia, though we've heard good things about the Sandals resorts as well. A piece of advice for those traveling to Saint Lucia, use the excursions offered by locals near your beach vs buying them through the resort. Ask around, it's likely other guests already gave them a try. Please feel free to share the details about your St. Lucia vacation in the comments.

SAINT LUCIA VACATION | Climbing Gros Piton in Soufrière
That's the second time I’m climbing Gros Piton. It was out last week in St.Lucia and we decided that we should do the climb on the weekend before we head back to Europe. It is definitely a MUST DO for anyone in St. Lucia or visiting! ⛰????????
We did the video because we want to show how the trail really is, so that if you are to go and climb it you have some expectations. This idea came about after we asked a few people to join us, but they thought it is too dangerous. I was a bit shocked when I heard that as I had climbed it before and it is a shaded track, with steps and railings at some parts.
Our friendly tour guide Kevin from the Soufriere Regional Foundation told us more about the trail and how to stay safe when climbing Gros Piton. The Foundation is a non-profit and is established by the people of Soufriere to promote, encourage, support, facilitate and coordinate local development initiatives in the Soufriere region. It is doing great at conserving and the Gros Piton Nature Trail. Check them out here

St Lucia 2017 (4K) - Walking on Sugar Beach - Between the Pitons
In the video I am in St Lucia at Sugar Beach. Sugar Beach is between the majestic Pitons. I think most locals would say this is the most beautiful area of the island. I had my lunch there at the resort called Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort.
Google Traductor:

Pitons in St. Lucia, Choiseul (Saint Lucia) - Travel Guide
Take a tour of Pitons in St. Lucia in Choiseul, Saint Lucia -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
On the southwest coast of the island of Saint Lucia two tall, pointed mountains rise out of the sea like a pair of shark's teeth.
These are the Pitons, two volcanic plugs that still have active sulfur vents and hot mud pools.
The two peaks are known as the Gros, meaning large, Piton and the Petit, meaning small, Piton.
The waters near the mountains are beautiful, clear, and surrounded by coral reefs teeming with life.
This richness of living things extends onto land as well, with thick, colorful rain forests, full of many species of animals.
The Pitons are responsible for the lush surroundings; the fertile volcanic ash and soil intermingle to provide this unique tropical environment.

MARINER Drone footage of 'Sophisticated Lady' at the Famous Pitons of St Lucia, CARIBBEAN!
This day finds us sailing 'Sophisticated Lady' down the coast of St Lucia on our way to St Vincent.. we decided to break the trip up with a stop at the Pitons National Park at the south end of St Lucia.
Saint Lucia is one of the most mountainous Caribbean islands and of its numerous peaks the ones which will most surely stick in your mind are the Pitons. Together they’re the country’s number one landmark, but these aren’t so much 'mountains' in the normal sense, as dramatic, conical outcrops looming over the sea.
Gros Piton is the larger of the two (the other one being – logically enough – Petit Piton). It’s a popular climbing destination but a glance at its steep slopes will tell you it’s no walk in the park, especially in the tropical heat. But if you’ve got some climbing experience, your ascent to the 2,619 foot (786 meter) summit will reward you with awe-inspiring views of the sapphire blue sea and lush green coastline.
Of course if you don't necessarily feel like climbing one of the Pitons, you can always sit at the Sugar Beach Resort situated at the base of Petit Piton and drink some of the local beers, aptly named Piton! :)

St Lucia (Part 4 - Soufriere to Pitons)
No mountain pair is as famous as the Saint Lucia Pitons, the island’s iconic mountains. The Pitons are protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the dramatic twin peaks of Gros Piton and Petit Piton are among the Caribbean island’s most memorable landmarks. Towering 2,619 feet (798 meters) above sea level, the Gros Piton, the larger of the two, is also a popular challenge for avid hikers. They do resemble a pair of Megalodon shark tooth.

Beautiful St. Lucia Landscape Catamaran Cruise 4K HDR
St. Lucia is a beautiful island in the Caribbean. It's most iconic features are the two mountains that form the Pitons. One of the best ways to see the Pitons and the island is by boat. Along the coast you can see amazing cliffs, rock formations, mountains and beaches.
This was shot while on the Norwegian Cruise Excursion “Between the Pitons Catamaran Cruise”. It was an amazing journey that leaves from the cruise port in Castries Harbor and goes all the way down to Soufriere Bay. There are three stops on the trip. One is at the beautiful and historic Marigot Bay where many battles between the English and French were held. The next is at Anse Cochon Beach where you are able to get off the boat and go for a 30-40 minute swim. The last is at Soufriere Bay with magnificent views of the Pitons. There is plenty of time for everyone on the excursion to get photos and enjoy the amazing views of the Petit and Gros Pitons.
I highly recommend this excursion. It was very fun and relaxing cruise with amazing views of the island. This is one of the best vacation activities I have done. Be sure to bring your camera!
