Pittsburgh is a city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the United States, and is the county seat of Allegheny County. As of 2017, a total population of 305,704 lives within the city limits, making it the 63rd-largest city in the U.S.
The metropolitan population of 2,353,045 is the largest in both the Ohio Valley and Appalachia, the second-largest in Pennsylvania (behind Philadelphia), and the 26th-largest in the U.S.
Located at the confluence of the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio rivers, Pittsburgh is known as both the Steel City for its more than 300 steel-related businesses, and as the City of Bridges for its 446 bridges.
The city features 30 skyscrapers, two inclined railways, a pre-revolutionary fortification and the Point State Park at the confluence of the rivers.
The city developed as a vital link of the Atlantic coast and Midwest, as the mineral-rich Allegheny Mountains made the area coveted by the French and British empires, Virginians, Whiskey Rebels, and Civil War raiders.
Aside from steel, Pittsburgh has led in manufacturing of aluminum, glass, shipbuilding, petroleum, foods, sports, transportation, computing, autos, and electronics.
For part of the 20th century, Pittsburgh was behind only New York and Chicago in corporate headquarters employment; it had the most U.S. stockholders per capita.America's 1980s deindustrialization laid off area blue-collar workers and thousands of downtown white-collar workers when the longtime Pittsburgh-based world headquarters moved out.
This heritage left the area with renowned museums, medical centers, parks, research centers, libraries, a diverse cultural district and the most bars per capita in the U.S

Jeannette Jay (memorial video)
Jeannette Jay was the daughter of “Mighty Pete” Sawicki, who gave Jeannette and her two sisters, Sister Mary Christelle and Mary Ann Bodkin, a lifelong love of the sport of gymnastics. Jeannette was 14 years old when she posed in a handstand on the back of her father’s motorcycle as they appeared in Buffalo parades. Ms. Jay was a member of the Polish Falcons and the Buffalo Turners. She went on to become a national gymnastics and diving champion. Ms. Jay had the unique opportunity to perform with a world class act from Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus. For thirty years Jeannette was the owner and operator of three gymnastics schools in Pittsburg until a serious automobile accident confined her to a wheelchair for one year. During her rehabilitation, she often thought about physically challenged children who were spending their lives on the outside of sports looking in, never to experience the excitement of participation. Jeannette’s tragedy gave birth to her vision to develop a center that would use specialized adaptive equipment and procedures to teach children at all levels of physical ability.
The unstoppable Jeannette Jay had numerous achievements including teaching gymnastics to over 12,000 children, being nominated as Woman of the Year and serving as the co-chair for the 1st USA Woman in Sports celebration in Pittsburgh, PA. Jeannette was the flexibility advisor for the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburg Steelers. She created the 1st USA Jr, Fitness Challenge at the Arnold Schwarzenneger Classic and was state chair for the Special Olympics in Pennsylvania. Jeannette also developed the “Superfit Kids” traveling show team and was a national safety certifier for the USA Gymnastics Federation. Jeannette was the co-creator of the children’s toy, “Hoopty Loops” and was the host of numerous television shows including “Exceptional People” and “Jeannette Jay’s Gold Carpet Interviews”. She interviewed numerous superstars, including Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes, Evander Holyfield, Lou Ferrigno, Kurt Angle, Chuck Norris, John Cena, Frankie Avelon, Nik Wallenda, and Richard Simmons. She also wrote a song called “Love can do Anything” inspired by Tony Bennett’s and Liza Minelli’s vocal coach, Andy Ensalmo.
Jeannette Jay showcased WNY celebrities like Russ Salvatore, Dennis Dipaolo, Marv Levi, Amanda Nagurney (singer) The Derwald Family Entertainers, Ramon Dennis (artist) and. Baby Joe Mesi. It is impossible to list all the other exceptional people who believed in Jeannette’s dreams, but we would extend a special thank you to George Maier, Brian Piotrowski, Jim Manion, James J. Lorimer, Kitty LaRue, Status Limo, Nd Studio’s, Rick Karnath (Cable Ch 20), Mark Jerge, Kevin O’Brian, Fichte Endl & Elmer Eyecare, Torey L Hirsch of Greater Buffalo Gymnastics, Russell Fulton, Aron Kiefer ,Scott Young,Resurrection Life Church, Linda Simar, Phyllis Gorski Micciche, Cindy Nagurney, Jean Warren, Eddie Zawadzki and Kris Ann Piazza.
On a personal note, the thing that stands out most to me was her unforgettable, bigger-than-life, high-octane personality. She always made her mark by doing handstands everywhere we went. Regardless of the situation or location, she always burst into people’s lives, interviewing them even if we didn’t have a camera. She was recognized by many as a networking genius and was always introducing people, creating incredible new connections, and promoting life-long friendships. Her beautiful connection with special needs children showcased her exceptional heart of gold!

The amazing Kenya magic hill that defies gravity
Machakos county offers one of World's amazing tourist destinations without
compare. A few kilometres from Machakos town towards Kangundo, there exists a wonder hill commonly known by locals as a Kyamwilu magic hill. At this place, one can go uphill on free gear for about 100 metres.
The hill has mesmerized locals, foreigners and even scientists as going against forces of gravity. Peter Kiluku, a resident of Kyamwilu says the wonder hill has provided a business opportunity for the locals who get paid to demonstrate the magic in the hill.
Peter and his group of 25 members consider the Hill as a their workplace and have to report here every morning to look out for tourists that frequent the area.
We charge Ksh2,000 for foreigners and 200 for local tourists to help them understand what exactly happens here. Many people really get amazed when objects including heavy vehicles go uphill without a push.
How was this place discovered, I ask,? In the colonial days; Peter tells me, there was a colonialist who stopped his vehicle downhill to fetch water from a nearby dam in the Valley to cool his car engine. On returning he found his vehicle had moved on its on uphill for about 100 meters. The man was very shocked as there was no one that could have moved his car while he was away. The hill has since become a site of tourist attraction.
Locals also say that there is a tale of two brothers that had married the same woman who used to take turns visiting each of their houses. One lived on the lower side of the hill and the other on the upper side. When she passed away, the tale concludes that the woman was buried between her two husbands around where the magic hill is situated. The story behind the tale is that, it is a rare practice for two men to be married to one wife hence perhaps the reason why forces of nature conspired.
To date, scientist are unable to explain the reason behind this phenomena that defies the power of gravity.
Tale aside, local tourists I interviewed say it is an experience worth your time and money.
