Youth, music and London: Plan B at TEDxObserver
Plan B, Musician, actor, writer-director
Plan B, or Ben Drew, is emerging as one of Britain's most imaginative and dexterous artistic talents. A singer, musician, writer, actor and director he first made his name as a hip-hop artist with the release of his critically-acclaimed debut album in 2006. Two years later he appeared in his first film, Adulthood. Later this year sees the release of iLL Manors, his first film as director-writer, charting the lives of a group of young people living in East London. Meanwhile, in the autumn, he will appear alongside Ray Winstone in the remake of the 70s TV classic The Sweeney. In an Observer interview last year Plan B said that much of his film and music work is inspired by injustice and much of it reflects on his life and upbringing as a youth in east London.

PLAN B - FIRST PAST THE POST (UK Election)
Three and a half weeks ago I knew nothing about the First Past The Post voting system. Writing this song has been an informative exercise for me and the only agenda I have with this video is to try to inform others before this week’s election. So that their vote counts for what it is they actually want. An uninformed voter is worse than a non-voter. So if you know what result you want out of this election but aren't sure on how to get it - watch this video and visit my website for more information on the First Past The Post voting system and links to tactical voting.

The British economy: time for plan B, George?
Business leaders have accused the British Chancellor George Osborne of failing to kick-start the economy by doing 'too little, too slowly.'
A survey by the Institute of Directors shows that many believe the government's attempts at economic and business reform have been unsuccessful. Two in three business leaders think the UK will stay in recession at least until the end of this year.
VOR's Daniel Cinna discusses this with David Newbery, Professor of Economics from the University of Cambridge; Mark Littlewood, the Director General of the Institute of Economic Affairs; David Smith, the Economics Editor of The Sunday Times; Wouter Den Haan, Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics.

What Happens When The Queen Dies | Vanity Fair
After nearly 66 years on the throne, Queen Elizabeth II is the longest reigning monarch in British history and has been a constant and calming force amidst the fast-paced changes their country has faced, making it even more inconceivable to think about what happens when she dies. Since Buckingham Palace doesn’t shy away from procedure, it's no surprise there’s already a comprehensive plan in place for what happens after she passes, known as Operation London Bridge. On the day Queen Elizabeth II dies, her death will elicit a comprehensive plan that has been in place since the 1960s. What will happen when Her Majesty's reign comes to an end and how will Britain mourn the loss? Here is what we know so far.

Prime Minister Theresa May unveils 'Plan B' |Money Talks
With roughly two months to go before Britain is due to leave the EU, British Prime Minister Theresa May is trying to break the Brexit stalemate in her own parliament. While she didn't present a definitive 'Plan B', she remained committed to coming up with a proposal that would avoid a no-deal Brexit, as Ben Said reports. Financial expert Jasmine Birtles joined us from London to give her analysis.
HD Plan B! London-Dublin-Philadelphia on Aer Lingus / A320 & B752
Returning home after three days in London. I was supposed to fly British Airways LHR-PHL, but that flight got cancelled and I ended up on Aer Lingus LHR-DUB-PHL. More on that in the video. Regardless, Aer Lingus provided a nice couple of flights given the circumstances. The connection in Dublin was very quick and easy. I was stressed and sleep deprived on this journey, so I wasn’t able to fully enjoy the flights. However, they got the job done and I arrived safely and on time back in the United States.

British Prime Minister Theresa May unveils her Brexit Plan B to parliament on Monday after MPs shredded her EU divorce deal, deepening the political gridlock 10 weeks from departure day. Britain will leave the European Union on March 29 without a deal unless MPs can force a delay or get their act together in time and come up with an alternative plan that Brussels is also happy with.
The world's fifth-biggest economy could lose preferential access to its largest export market overnight, affecting every sector, leading to rising costs and disruption at British ports. London and Brussels have spent the best part of two years working on a divorce agreement but MPs in parliament's lower House of Commons comprehensively rejected it on Tuesday.
May's government then survived a confidence vote on Wednesday and set about talks with figures from rival parties. But the main opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn stayed away, saying a no-deal departure must be ruled out first -- something May says is impossible.
May spoke to Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Thursday, and to EU leaders Jean-Claude Juncker and Donald Tusk by telephone Friday to discuss where to go next on Brexit.
EU chiefs have so far ruled out renegotiating the agreement, but have signalled they could postpone the withdrawal if May changes her red lines on leaving the EU's customs union and blocking free movement of citizens.

UK PM Theresa May's Brexit statement- BBC News
Theresa May says concerns have been expressed about leaving the EU without a deal, with calls for it to be ruled out.
She says the best way to rule out a no deal Brexit is to agree a deal with the EU. The only other way is to extend Article 50, something she says the EU is unlikely to agree to without a clear plan of how an agreement can be reached.
When people say the government should rule out no deal, she says they are essentially saying we should revoke Article 50.
This doesn't respect the Brexit vote, she says.
Others are calling for a second referendum, she says, but our duty is to implement the first one. She is concerned about the precedent that would set for future refendums.
She says she does not know what Jeremy Corbyn believes regarding this, as he has not engaged.

With just 16 days before the Olympic Games kick off in London, there's been a major hitch in the much-hyped security plans. Thousands of extra British soliders have had to be drafted in after a private firm failed to supply promised guards. The company's been paid almost 300 million pounds - but hasn't trained enough staff. RT's Sara Firth has more.
