Summer Getaway S2E7: Trains at Stirling, HML, CL & EDL - 25/7/18
Hi all and welcome to the new latest video from TSE Summer Getaway series, in this episode, we cover Stirling where we see services from Abellio ScotRail only.
Look out for:
- A Denamed logo 170 - 170416
- Two 158s on Alloa allocations
- 170430 Pride Edinburgh
Stirling is a great station with spectacular vantage points and good views, frequency is brilliant but the traction there is average as it focuses mainly on turbostars and express sprinters. The station is still ongoing major works on some platforms which unfortunately does deter platform length slightly but overall a good station. I may return there if possible to get the LNER Services.

Gareth is looming but still travelling on Scottish Railways (12th March 2019)
This day in Scotland was filmed during Storm Gareth but it wasn't going to stop me from on Railway adventure... even know it did later on in the evening!
Today journey started at Edinburgh Park and travelled to Edinburgh Waverley on a Abellio ScotRail Class 365 EMU and then caught a Class 385 EMU to Longniddry for a morning film on the East Coast Main Line.
After Longniddry, I went back to Edinburgh Waverley and a quick walk across the platform, boarded the 0935 to Linlithgow for some filming of EMUs, DMUs and even a Class 68 locomotive!
After Linlithgow, I moved to Polmont when it poured with rain for a while! but was under a shelter and still carried on filming including the Southbound London North Eastern Railway Highland Chieftain.
After Polmont, I went to Falkirk Grahamston to change trains and caught a Class 158 to Dunblane to hopefully captures some EMUs at this location but turned out to be mostly DMUs apart from a Class 385 EMU which arrived before I left and travelled to Camelon to film at this stations which EMUs from Class 365s, Class 380s and Class 385s stopped at this station but then I moved onto Greenfaulds Station.
But while at this station getting the Prestwick to Grangemouth empty oil tanks, which was worked by a Class 56 locomotive the rain came down and was also windy which started at Camelon and decided to forget Cumbernauld and move onto Falkirk Grahamston but it was still raining and windy which made me to retreat back to Edinburgh Park and to the hotel at half 5!

Falkirk Grahamston Station 15/7/19
On a warm summers week in the Scottish Highlands we spend 4 days travelling to stations on both the Inverness and Aberdeen Line out of Edinburgh as we visit all the stations that see LNER Services formed of a HST Class 43 these are a sight that is soon to be lost as the new Azuma units take over and retires these historical sets from service.
These are the individual station videos for that week the full diary can be found here:
Enjoy!

ScotRail Class 385 AT200 Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley 25/9/18
This is the return journey from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley. During my day in Glasgow, I was hoping that my journey on the way back to Edinburgh that I'll be travelling back on board the new Class 385 AT200. So once I arrived at Glasgow Queen Street Station, it was coming to the afternoon rush hour so I saw the new Class 385 AT200 pull into the Platform and hoping that will be the 16:15 to Edinburgh Waverley and once my Platform was called, it was definitely what I wanted so I was very pleased and got this very chance of travelling on them so I did.
The journey started off very well until after we called at Linlithgow, we got held up and we were running late back to Edinburgh Waverley 25 minutes late due to late running trains from Inverness, Dunblane and Stirling. We arrived back at Edinburgh Waverley at 17:31 which as definitely 25 minutes late than usual which not that good but I enjoyed the journey on those new trains in the end anyway.
The Stations in the video include:
Glasgow Queen Street
Falkirk High
Polmont
Linlithgow
Edinburgh Park
Haymarket
Edinburgh Waverley
Enjoy!
Operator: ScotRail
Train: Class 385 AT200
Departure from Glasgow Queen Street: 16:15
Arrival at Edinburgh Waverley: 17:06-17:31 (25 minutes late) due to late arrivals of other trains on the line from Dunblane.

'The Fife Circle' - Sunday 5 July 2015 - LNER A1 Class 4-6-2 no 60163 'Tornado'
Organised by SRPS Railtours, Tornado took a trip from Edinburgh over the Forth Bridge, round the Fife Circle via Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes and Dunfirmline, then back over the Forth Bridge and round the South Suburban Circle back to Edinburgh, ready for a second trip.
The train stopped on the bridge to celebrate the news that the bridge has just won 'World Heritage Status'.
This is a re-edit of the video I posted at the time.
It was 3 years ago that I was lucky to be one of 250 people selected to visit the top of the Forth Bridge to celebrate the bridge's 125th anniversary. You can see the scaffold platform when I look back at the bridge from the North Queensferry stop.

The Caledonian Paradise (3rd November 2018)
This video is a 4 part video of a trip to Scotland back in November, (reason it being uploaded now is that I was saving these till around the Christmas/Holiday week since there no videos filmed in December)
We Start when we left off at Larbert which I walked to the hotel from the station and travel on a service to Polmont and change trains to Falkirk High which was the first of two stations that I was filming on this day, there was no Class 170s DMUs running between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh Waverley but a variety of EMUs, 365s, 380s and one working had Class 385 on.
After Falkirk High, I travelled to Linlithgow to change for a free bus shuttle to Bo'ness and attended the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway Caledonian Reunion Gala featuring Caledonian Railways 812 Class, 828 and 439 Class, 419 which had just been overhauled and features three industrial locomotives.
I also took a ride on the line to Manuel Station behind the two Caledonian Railways locomotives and a industrial locomotive on the way back.
Then I had a look around the Scottish Railway Preservation Museum and found 61994 The Great Marquess along with some other good looking locomotives and even the Glasgow Blue Train, the Class 303 which when it was designed in the 1960s was an EMU well advanced during it time.
After finishing off at the Bo'ness Railway, I headed back to Linlithgow early and went to Edinburgh Park Station to change trains and caught a service to Bathgate which was a place I wanted to film at but never got the chance.
After an hour at Bathgate, I headed back to Edinburgh Park to get something to eat at KFC and then headed back on a train to Larbert. Filmed 3rd November 2018
