Mykonos | Platis Gialos beach
Platis Gialos is the longest stretch of beach on the island and yet another popular spot 4 km south from Chora. Visitors can access the area by bus, taxi or rental or easily by small ferry boats that tour other popular beaches along the way. Since it's initial development, the area has become more cosmopolitan. Lined with well-organized hotels, restaurants and water sports amusement for younger crowds, it is noted as a family friendly destination. The hotels and apartments for rent all have balconies overlooking the sea and are located on the first floors above the restaurants, bars, shops and mini markets. Here, you can take a boat trip to other beaches on Mykonos like Paranga, Paradise & Super Paradise or, for the seaman at heart, you can rent a boat to make your own day trips too.

Platis Gialos beach, Lassi - Kefalonia
Due to its lovely sandy beaches and proximity to both airport and town, Lassi is understandably popular. It lies just three kilometres to the south of Argostoli, the island capital, but has plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops of its own. Although a developing resort area, Lassi remains mainly low-key and particularly popular with families. Lassi has two superb beaches which get busy in season, but this does ensure that they have good facilities, including watersports, sun beds and a beach bar or two. In the evenings many head into Argostoli, either on foot or by taxi. The Lassi area is the best place from which to undertake a thorough exploration of the island. All excursions pick up from here and, with a string of undeveloped sandy beaches along Kefalonia's peaceful south coast only 20 minute drive away.

One of the most beautiful beaches of Kalymnos is Platis Gialos. Its fame is due to its clear waters, but also for the amazing sunsets that one can enjoy from there. It is located near Panormo and one of the main features of the beach is the black sand that stands in stark contrast with the deep blue waters.
