We’re taking you to the National Wildlife Refuge of Cabo Rojo.
Our first stop is at Puerto Rico’s pink lakes - Las Salinas (Salt flats) de Puerto Rico. From there, we’ll explore El Faro Los Morrillos (The Los Morrillos Lighthouse), a historic landmark in the area of Rojo Cabo.
Not too far from there, we’ll visit the Puente de Piedra and we’ll relax at Playa Sucia or La Playuela, one of the most beautiful beaches on the west side (or oeste) of Puerto Rico.
This corner of the island quickly became one of our favorite day-trips while we lived in Boqueron. If you're in Puerto Rico, do yourself a favor and check it out!

Vi tar strandpromenaden från Puerto Rico till Playa de los Amadores (de älskandes strand) på ca en kilometer. Detta är en vacker och exotisk gångtur med hisnade utsikt nedför branterna där vågorna skvalpar mot klipporna.
Själva stranden är 800 meter lång med kristallklart vatten och finkornig sand som importerats från Karibien. Efter några dopp äter vi lunch och tar sedan en glasspaus på vägen tillbaka till Puerto Rico, som slutligen betraktas från de omgivande höjderna.

We take the promenade from Puerto Rico to Playa de los Amadores (the lovers' beach) which is about one kilometer. This is a beautiful and exotic walk with breathtaking views down the escarpment where the waves slosh against the rocks.
The beach is 800 meters long with crystal clear water and fine sand imported from the Caribbean. After a swim we eat lunch and hold on for ice cream on the way back to Puerto Rico, which is finally viewed upon from the surrounding heights.
