This design/build project will construct a roundabout at the intersection of Braddock Road (Route 620) and Pleasant Valley Road (Route 609) in Fairfax County.
As of 2012, about 7500 vehicles per day travelled this section of Braddock Road and about 8500 travelled along Pleasant Valley Road.
The roundabout will provide additional capacity for forecasted traffic volumes and improve safety by eliminating the potential for turn/angle crashes at the intersection. It will also enhance pedestrian access for residents in the area.
The new roundabout includes crosswalks and curb ramps for pedestrians, landscaping and lighting. The sidewalk will be tied into the existing trail along the east side of Pleasant Valley Road south of the intersection.

The Great Sledding Adventure from Pleasant Valley to Stanley
Two yamaha snowmobiles left Pleasant Valley during the worst storm of the year, their destination Stanley, NB. On the way they found a dead Coyote, said a prayer for it and moved it off the trail so it wouldn't get run over any more. An epic 60 kms later they made it to the country store, replenished our supplies and returned home safely, but soaked to the bone.

People golf for a variety of reasons.
Some like to clear their minds, others enjoy the leisurely recreation. For some, however, golf is almost a type of euphoria. It provides sport, exercise and a great place to enjoy the outdoors.
There are many great places to go golfing, but I’ve searched hard to find the best golf courses for those who are looking for a majestic outdoors experience.
Here are 10 of the most beautiful golf courses in the country.
Augusta :
Designed by the famous Bobby Jones, Augusta is one of the most historic and aesthetically pleasing courses in the world.
With immaculate green grass and thick rows of pine trees lining every fairway, it’s no wonder they chose this course to host the Master’s every year. Membership policies are very strict at Augusta and, after going there for the first time, you’ll see why.
Bandon Dunes :
Opened in 1999, Bandon Dunes has become one of the premier golf courses on the west coast.
It’s one of the most exciting courses for golfers, too.
Of the four courses on the resort, Bandon Dunes typically sees the lowest scores and flattest greens. This course has a perfect mix of sand dunes and the beautiful Oregon coast, which made it easy for the course to make our list.
Wade Hampton :
Many people don’t know much about western North Carolina, Wade Hampton Golf Club is something they should discover.
Ranked by Golfweek as one of “America’s Best Residential Golf Courses,” this course is one that residents of North Carolina can be proud of. Coming here during autumn when the trees are changing color makes Wade Hampton that much more pleasing and fun.
Cypress Point :
Everyone knew that Cypress Point was going to make this list.
With rocky cliffs and the Pacific Ocean as its background, it’s no wonder that the PGA has wanted to hold multiple tournaments here. Not only is Cypress Point a gorgeous course, it’s also very challenging.
Pine Valley :
Opened in 1913, Pine Valley is one of the oldest courses on the list.
With bunkers that are built like craters, it makes it a difficult place to play.
This course has won multiple awards for its beauty and quality. Golf Magazine has ranked New Jersey’s Pine Valley as the Best Golf Course in the World and it has also received the award for Best Golf Course in the United States.
Fisher's Island :
Some golfers think of Fisher's Island as the “Cypress Point of the East.”
Although it’s across the country, near the Atlantic rather than the Pacific, Fisher's Island is quite similar to Cypress Point. They both have a stunning, coastal view and both are world-class places to golf.
Pebble Beach :
Located in Monterey, Calif., Pebble Beach is on many golfers’ bucket lists.
Pebble Beach is well known for some of the major tournaments they’ve held, as well as the extremely small greens. The PGA loves this course, which explains why Pebble Beach was home to a PGA Championship and five U.S. Opens.
Kauai Lagoons :
Golfing in Hawaii is fantastic.
You get the mild temperatures, green courses lined with palm trees and excellent views of the Pacific.
Kauai Lagoons is the most beautiful course on any island in Hawaii. Surrounded by tall, green mountains and the ocean splashing up against the course, anyone would love to golf round or two here.
Alotian :
One of the most famous golf architects of all time, Tom Fazio, designed Arkansas’ best course.
Alotian has long, rolling fairways that have drawn comparisons to the great Augusta. Located on the banks of Lake Maumelle, the Alotian Club has one of the best backdrops in the country.
Bethpage Black :
Bethpage Black claims Farmingdale, New York as home. It also played the role of host to the 2002 and 2009 U.S. Open and Barclays 2012.
It is known as one of America’s toughest courses, and is one of the courses that Tiger Woods has featured in his video games.
Other than being a difficult place to golf, it’s also encircled by thick groves of tall trees. The groundsmen do an excellent job keeping the course clean and green all year.

Tour of Hole 1 - Bucks Run Golf Club
A great starting hole. This hole offers a large landing area with ample room to the right, which is helpful for the first tee shot of the day. The green is large and protected in the front by two bunkers left & right. Wetland area starts on the left side of the green and wraps around the backside, nothing but trouble.
