5 Long Lost Beasts of the Old World
5 Long Lost Beasts of the Old World
Some 80,000 years ago, our planet began to cool, heralding the dawn of the last ice age. The Arctic ice sheets expanded, covering about half of the North American continent. Nevertheless, south of this huge block of ice, life flourished in unexpected ways. This was a land of giants like the Woolly Mammoths, Saber-Toothed Cats, Dire Wolves, Giant Ground Sloths, and Glyptodonts.
In the rest of the Northern Hemisphere, however, the story was quite different. These lands had their own class of giants who evolved differently from their American counterparts and became the masters of their domain, up until fairly recently; a geological instant in terms of the planet’s history. Check out 5 of these incredible creatures who once dominated the Old World

Awesome Combo video of Greater Flamingo & Common Shelduck
Greater Flamingo & Common Shelduck, Vasai, Maharastra, by Mayuresh Parab, November 2016
Wild India:-
The greater flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus) is the most widespread species of the flamingo family. It is found in Africa, on the Indian subcontinent, in the Middle East and southern Europe.
The common shelduck (Tadorna tadorna) is a waterfowl species shelduck genus Tadorna. It is widespread and common in Eurasia, mainly breeding in temperate and wintering in subtropical regions; in winter, it can also be found in the Maghreb. Its scientific name comes from the French name Tadorne for this species. It may originally derive from Celtic roots meaning pied waterfowl, essentially the same as the English shelduck.
Fossil bones from Dorkovo (Bulgaria) described as Balcanas pliocaenica may actually belong to this species. More likely, they are an extinct species of Tadorna (if not a distinct genus) due to their Early Pliocene age; the present species is not unequivocally attested from the fossil record until some 2–3 million years later (Late Pliocene/Early Pleistocene).
Videos based on any Wildlife of India...The wildlife in India comprises a mix of species of different types of organisms. Apart from a handful of the major farm animals such as cows, buffaloes, goats, poultry, and camels, India has an amazingly wide variety of animals native to the country. It is home to Bengal tigers, Indian lions, deer, pythons, wolves, foxes, bears, crocodiles, wild dogs, monkeys, snakes, antelope species, varieties of bison and the Asian elephant. The region's rich and diverse wildlife is preserved in 120+ national parks, 18 Bio-reserves and 500+ wildlife sanctuaries across the country. India has some of the most biodiverse regions of the world and hosts three of the world’s 35 biodiversity hotspots – or treasure-houses – that is the Western Ghats, the Eastern Himalayas and Indo-Burma. India, lying within the Indomalaya ecozone, is home to about 7.6% of all mammalian, 12.6% of avian, 6.2% of reptilian, and 6.0% of flowering plant species.
