Text description provided by the architects. A consolidated landscape surrounded by gardens with big trees within the metropolis of Madrid is the fortunate starting point of this house.
The piece, of metallic and horizontal nature, produces the effect of having just one storey. With its proportions and materiality it both contrasts and blends with the tall trees of its environment.
The scale of the house is moderated through the understanding of the day area as a base emerging from the same natural stone which paves part of the plot. The night zone is placed on it and focuses the view to the north and south while protecting itself from the eyes of the neighbours and generating shaded terraces in which to enjoy the exterior.

Modric bought a new house in Madrid for 12 million euros
Recently, there have been many rumors about the resignation of Luke Modric from Real Madrid: Croats are very expected in Italy. It seems that these are just rumors: the owner of the Golden Ball-2018 bought a new house in Madrid. For a mansion in the prestigious area of Luca, he laid out 12 million euros.
When we talked about the house of Azar, we talked about the elite area of La Finca: a closed village of football players in the western capital of Spain - Zidane, Bale, Kroos and James live there. Luca Modric bought a house in another area - La Moraleja in the north of Madrid.
Moraleja is closer to the city center, but the same elite area. There, unlike La Finca, there is no armed guard and gated entry. But there are many football neighbors: Ramos, Marcelo, Varan, and Benzema live here - senators of Real Madrid.
When David Beckham played in Real Madrid, his house was in Moralej. The real estate agency that helped Bex buy in 2005 and sell the villa in 2015 describes the mansion as modest because the Beckham wanted a simple house, the only luxury is Victoria’s 125-meter wardrobe, which the new owner remade into a nursery.
Modric himself lived in Moralej all the time playing in Madrid. The previous house was much more modest: it cost only 2.8 million euros. The new house is slightly larger than the old: 3 thousand m2 against 2.7 thousand. But the last house had a tiny plot (700 m2), and the mansion for 12 million - 10 times more.
The new house is very modern. It has nine bedrooms (each with its own bathroom), a cinema for 18 people and a party room.

Modern House Design with Complete Floor Plan : House on the Hill in Madrid
Modern House Design with Complete Floor Plan : House on the Hill in Madrid
Miguel Barahona has sent us photos of the House Hill project, in collaboration with PYF Arquitectura.
This 4,000 square foot single-family is located in Madrid, Spain and was completed in 2010.
Its green roof and the U-shaped swimming pool are two of the special points of this amazing brand new house!
House on the Hill by Miguel Barahona and PYF Arquitectura:
“The House on the Hill is located at the highest level of the plot, enjoying distant views across the valley and the mountains, and inserting itself into a natural garden of granite rocks and gnarled oaks. From the street, the building seems to disappear; the tight construction is veiled by a horizontal slat fence, above which an intriguing slanted roof garden made of apparently random circles can be seen.
The house is organized around three courtyards. The two smaller ones define an axis that runs along the path from the street to the garden, incorporating at the same time the vertical circulations. The larger courtyard is occupied almost entirely by the indoor pool, around which all the elements of the house are arranged.
“A home where the pool could be seen from the living room and the bedroom” had been the client’s own words.
As the pool extends into the garden, it also brings with it a platform for its enjoyment. The living room occupies an intermediate situation, surrounded by water on three of its sides, with large windows facing the courtyard and looking into the garden. This apparently simple and strict scheme is transformed by the almost total internal transparency and the slope of the roof. The different environments of the house are all visually connected enhancing and augmenting the spatial experience.
The project seeks to build a complex medium capable of encompassing and generating the multiplicity and variety of activities inherent to the domestic sphere. Three levels of relationships are posed: internal, with respect to the patios, pool and other premises; close, with respect to the garden; far, with respect to the landscape. The spaces and finishes are customized to generate diverse situations, an environment susceptible to multiple interpretations, consistent yet singular.
The exterior walls are covered with dark phenolic panels that glow and change color depending on the incidence of light. In contrast, the courtyards are influenced by the internal transparency and covered with backlit translucent glass. Inside, some elements are emphasized by the use of natural materials or provocative colors. The staircase to the first floor is entirely transparent, with glass steps between glass walls; people in transit seem to float in space. In contrast, the steps to the basement, made of solid wood, emerge outright from the concrete wall, enclosed but untouched by steel wires.
The design of the garden and the green roof deliberately breaks the geometry of the building using sinuous and circular lines, inducing a changing perception of the building due to the variability and unpredictability of the greenery.”

The Battle for Madrid, 1936 (filmed/animated on location)
This Spanish Civil War mini history documentary was filmed & animated in Madrid. The Spanish Civil War is fascinatingly complex. That’s why I’ve decided to explain the Battle/Siege of Madrid between 1936 & 1939 using animation and original footage I shot in Madrid. To understand the two sides during the Spanish Civil War (the Nationalists and the Republicans), it helps to reduce the conflict down to the city level. I hope having it explained this way is helpful for you! Feedback welcome as always.

We Don´t Build Houses, We Create Experiences I ARK Architects Marbella & Sotogrande
ARK Architects
We Don´t Build Houses,
We Create Experiences
Have you ever wonder how dreams are made?
Unique homes in Spain to deliver a unique life experience to our clients. This is the objective that differentiates ARK architects in each one of our architectural projects. This is only possible because we control all the steps of the project, from the localization of the plot of land to the delivery of the key of one of our luxury villas to the owner. Our experience and our exhaustive work method have led us to become the Spanish architectural studio with the most villas of this type built. We do not design anything that we are not going to build and it is this ability to independently supervise all the processes that has allowed us to position ourselves as the leaders in the sector, in luxury destinations like Sotogrande and Marbella.
The different phases that give life to an ARK project have been conceived and devised to fulfill that goal while respecting quality parameters defined by the firm. Nothing is left to chance. The study of the land, the lifestyle of the families, a personalized architectural idea, the interior design and an exhaustive technical and implementation phase all give the service we offer a standard of luxury, something our clients seek for the project of their lives.
Our work begins with the localisation of the plot and the analysis and study of factors influencing the terrain, like its topography, orientation or development conditions. If the choice of the place is paramount, the lifestyle of the future inhabitants is no less important, a lifestyle determined by their hobbies, tastes and personal styles, the family typology or any other specific project requirements.
WE THINK OF OUR HOMES AS A TAILORED SUIT BECAUSE WE DON’T ALL LIVE THE SAME WAY, NOR DO WE HAVE SIMILAR OPERATING PROTOCOLS.
At ARK Architects we offer an architectural solution that adapts to the client’s lifestyle, and only in this way can we create a liveable house. To reach that goal the interaction with the client is very important and it is essential to know what their or their family’s lifestyle is.
During the creative phase, our challenge is to move the traditional architectural idea to a digital format that gives the client a 360 degree experience. Architects, decorators, landscapers and engineers from various departments like Ark Interiors, NeuroARKeting, Building, etc come together in the same phase of the project to unite ‘Architecture- Landscaping’ with ‘Interior Design’, achieving a fully integrated and meaningful project since its inception. The development of a 3D rendering of very real closeness to the final result, gives our client a very faithful and realistic image of his or her new home, visualizing in detail every space of the villa.
During the ‘contract’ phase, we deal with all the legal aspects related to the construction of a villa: urban development and work licenses, monitoring of legislative changes, dispatching of documents within statutory deadlines, final work certificates and handover documents, First Occupancy Licence, title deeds and utilities connection, amongst others.
This ample process leads to the technical phase with the writing of a document where we specify in detail each and every one of the construction elements and standards that will be used in the construction. A thorough and exhaustive description that includes, for example, the materials or elements that are part of a door to the type of concrete we will use in the garage.
The studio, together with the client, make the selection of all materials -next generation, for unique homes in Spain that will shape that lifestyle. It is during this part of the process that we calculate an exact budget, after determining all the technical parameters whereby achieving a highly technical and detailed amount (excluding future modifications). At this point, the client is perfectly aware of the cost of their villa, their dream.
The actual implementation of the work begins with the involvement of the ARK Building division, the real qualitative leap of our studio. The need to offer the customer a comprehensive and personalized service was what led us, almost a decade ago, to start this new path at ARK Architects. We believed it then and we believe it now: guaranteeing the quality we demanded in the construction forced us to become builders as well.
Specialist in luxury residences, houses and luxury villas in Marbella, Sotogrande and the entire Costa del Sol. ARK offers its customers comprehensive services ranging from the initial concept to the overall implementation of each project. Our work strategy comprises architectural builder and development, project management, architectural design, interior design and landscaping.

Real Madrid plot swap offer to beat Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea to Timo Werner transfer
Manchester United could be set to lose out on another of their striker transfer targets after Erling Braut Haaland snubbed the Red Devils for Borussia Dortmund. Reports in Spain now suggest they could lose out on Timo Werner. The Red Bull Leipzig striker is apparently being courted by Real Madrid. Werner has been on fire this season, having scored 18 goals in 17 Bundesliga games. The 22-year-old has been tipped to leave Germany for the Premier League - with Chelsea and Liverpool both believed to be keen. But now, United have apparently entered into the race for the young German. JUST IN: UFC London: Lerone Murphy to face Gabriel Benitez at O2 Arena - EXCLUSIVE They could be out of luck, however, as Real Madrid are said to be plotting a mega swap deal for the youngster. According to Spanish publication El Desmarque, Madrid are planning to offer up Luka Jovic and £12.8million for the German. Jovic joined Madrid in the summer from Eintracht Frankfurt in a £60m move, but has failed to properly find his feet in the Spanish capital. Having scored just once in 11 La Liga games, Jovic could be used as a pawn to bring in Werner. PLOT
Art evolved in prehistoric times as mankind looked toward the heavens and gazed at the moon and stars with wonder. As natural explorers, humans have plotted trails from point A to point B, from the earth to the Sea of Tranquility, in an ongoing quest to map stars and craters on the moon. These astronomical references continue to serve as a metaphor and compass in navigating the unknown.
PLOT, a moving graphics video project in collaboration with graphic artist Tim Chrepta, celebrates lunar exploration on the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Mission. It also honors America’s collaboration with Australia, and the Parkes Observatory, whose radio telescope received the television signals that enabled people around the world to view Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the Moon.
In a quest to discover new understandings about our relationship to the moon, the PLOT project aspires to bridge art and science by collectively weaving historical narratives celebrating exploration and the process of discovery. This is achieved by creating visual bridges between sculptures inspired by historic lunar engravings, and cymatics (the visualization of sound through vibrations) as a metaphor for the moon’s “seas”. The concept of plotting “waves” through the use of cymatics references ancient navigational traditions. It also symbolizes the echo of exploration, place, and serves as a map of our discovery process working on this project.

Casa de Aluminio | Aluminum House by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos

How to Use Story Marketing to Make Movements Happen
The world of brand marketing is changing rapidly. Ad campaigns don't work like they used to. Because brands are no longer the storytellers. They're the story makers handing their stories to their customers in hopes they'll share it with their world.
Smart brands are focused on making movements, like REI's #OptOutside effort. Dove's Real Beauty campaign. Or Heineken's recent Open Your World work.
How do you turn an ad campaign into a meaningful movement that matters? It starts by creating a relationship with your audiences through your story marketing.
Brand relationship expert, Kimberly Manno Reott of Context Partners, joins us from her home in Madrid, Spain. She explores the three elements and six critical roles to every successful movement.
Context Partners is a new type of design firm focused on relationships at scale.
We all face a changing world where identity, information, and power are rapidly shifting. Traditional models of communication are failing and once-passive audiences are coalescing into powerful, vocal communities.
Kimberley and her team help organizations like Microsoft, Lilly and the Rockefeller Foundation and the Rainforest Alliance build, navigate and leverage their relationships to shape the future.
Kimberly will teach you how to craft a compelling message and structure the right team with the correct personalities to turn your campaign into a movement.
In This Show, You’ll Learn: How to approach business storytelling through the lens of relationships, particularly through the STORYTELLER. The three-story plot points you need to make any movement take off The six aspirational roles people play to make your cause successful And the almighty power of chocolate to bring clarity to your story. Key Quotes: “All business strategy is a story.” – Park Howell
“In traditional marketing, consumers get segmented by demographics… that way of segmenting people is kind of old school and actually doesn’t allow you to build the relationships that are lasting.” – Kimberly Manno Reott
“It ultimately comes down to building these relationships by truly understanding your audience.” –Park Howell
