Plymouth Rock
Pilgrim Memorial State Park is one of the most heavily visited parks in the state parks system. Nearly one million people a year come from all over the world to visit The Rock and the town where in 1620 Europeans first made a home in New England. This simple glacial erratic boulder on the shore of Plymouth Harbor has become a world famous symbol of the courage and faith of the men and women who founded the first New England colony. A landscaped waterfront park provides scenic views of Plymouth Harbor. The Mayflower II, a replica of the ship that brought the first Pilgrims to Massachusetts, is anchored at the park.

A Visit to Plymouth, MA/Interview with Plymouth County Register John Buckley
PART 1:
Owner Hugh Fitzpatrick and reporter Michelle Greene pay a visit to historic Plymouth, Massachusetts landmarks such as Plymouth Rock, the replica of the Mayflower, and Plimouth Plantation.
PART 2:
Hugh Fitzpatrick interviews John Buckley, Plymouth County Register of Deeds. The deeds at this particular registry go back as far as the 1620's. Land transactions go back as far the early colonists. Around 1627, the governor switched over to private property rights, which allows for a more productive society. This is when the recording of land records began.
The first colonial document laid out the land around the area where the Mayflower had landed, and those ownership locations are still marked by plaques today along that road.
The Plymouth Colony records have many of the original Pilgrims' names. People come from all around the world to do genealogical research to look up their ancestors. The placard above the entrance to the registry reads America's First Registry of Deeds, which has never been disputed.
History: The Pilgrims Journey Documentary
Impacts of the English in the New World ( Pilgrims )
Some 100 people, many of them seeking religious freedom in the New World, set sail from England on the Mayflower in September 1620. That November, the ship landed on the shores of Cape Cod, in present-day Massachusetts. A scouting party was sent out, and in late December the group landed at Plymouth Harbor, where they would form the first permanent settlement of Europeans in New England. These original settlers of Plymouth Colony are known as the Pilgrim Fathers, or simply as the Pilgrims.

MayFlower & Monument Plymouth, MA
When people visit Plymouth, MA, they usually are looking to see the MayFlower ship that the Pilgrams arrived on in 1620. I was more interested to see the Monument to the Founding Fathers, featured in the documentary Monumental. This monument shows the vision of the Pilgrams when they arrived on this land of how they felt a prosperious society could be formed. Perhaps, not only does this monument show us our history, but also could point us of how to correct the problems of the current day United States.

Leyden Street (1620): The Oldest Street in Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA...built by the Pilgrims
This is a clip of the oldest street in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The street was named Leyden Street in honor of the city in the Netherlands that offered refuge to the Pilgrims while they were persecuted in England. Leyden Street may be the oldest street in one of the original thirteen colonies laid out by colonists and in continuous use since 1620. The Pilgrims built their houses and fort along the street. The First Thanksgiving was likely held nearby in 1620. Plymouth Rock is near the water end of the street and is the alleged point of arrival from the Mayflower.
The clip also shows First Parish Church in Plymouth, MA. Founded by the Piligrims, it is currently a Unitarian Universalist congregation and located near the site of the first fort and cemetery on Burial Hill. It is the oldest church congregation in New England, and the oldest continuous congregation in the United States.
National Monument to the Forefathers, Plymouth, Massachusetts
The National Monument to the Forefathers, the largest solid-granite monument in the United States, was dedicated in 1889 to honor the first English settlers to land in Plymouth, Mass. The monument, 81 feet tall, features several figures depicting virtues the Pilgrims brought to America in 1620.

Happy Thanksgiving from The Mayflower Ship in Plymouth, Massachusetts
Happy Thanksgiving holiday season from the Mayflower II 17th-century 1620 Pilgrim ship in Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA
The Mayflower was the ship that in 1620 transported mostly English Puritans and Separatists, collectively known today as the Pilgrims, from Plymouth England to the New World. There were 102 passengers and the crew is estimated to be approximately 30 but the exact number is unknown. This voyage has become an iconic story in some of the earliest annals of American history, with its story of death and of survival in the harsh New World winter environment. The culmination of the voyage in the signing of the Mayflower Compact is an event which established a rudimentary form of democracy, with each member contributing to the welfare of the community.
