Pohyonsa North Korea ???????? 보현사 普賢寺
Pohyon-sa is a Korean Buddhist temple located in Hyangsan county in North Pyong'an Province, North Korea. It is located within the Myohyang Mountains. Founded under the Koryo dynasty at the start of the 11th century, the temple flourished as one of the greatest centers of Buddhism in the north of Korea, and became a renowned place of pilgrimage. Like most other temples in North Korea, the complex suffered extensive damage from US
bombing during the Korean War. The temple is designated as National Treasure #40 in North Korea, with many of its component buildings and structures further declared as individual national treasures.
보현사(普賢寺)는 평안북도 향산군 묘향산에 위치한 불사(佛寺)이다. 784년에 의상에 의해 세워지고, 고려 때인 1024년에 복원되었다. 원래는 팔만대장경이 보관되어 있었지만 팔만대장경은 1984년에 조선민주주의인민공화국의 평안북도 당 인민위원회가 향산문헌보존고를 만들어 옮기고, 지금은 조선민주주의인민공화국 불교의 종교적인 역할을 담당하고 있다.
영산전은 보현사에 속한 건물 중 하나이다.[1]
