Poiana Brasov is the most popular Romanian ski resort and an important tourist centre preferred by many tourists not only from Romania, but also from Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and other European states. After the 2010s modernization, the ski area has expanded from 50 hectares to 80 hectares and the slopes length was increased from 13.8 km to 23.9 km. most slopes now have snow cannons installed. In 2013, it hosted figure skating, alpine skiing and speed skating in the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival. It is located at about 1,020 meters (3,379 feet) above sea level near the city of Brașov in Romania and it is easily accessible by road. There are regular buses operated by Brașov Transit (RAT Brașov) which serve the 12 km route between Brașov and Poiana Brașov. The resort also runs minibuses to take visitors from hotels to the base of the ski runs from where they can hike or take a cable car to Cristianu Mare or Postăvaru summits. Poiana Brașov is surrounded by four mountains: the already mentioned Postăvaru (1,799 m), Piatra Craiului (2,238 m), Bucegi (2,505 m) and Piatra Mare (1,848 m). Poiana Brașov has a temperate-continental climate. The average temperature in summer is 20 °C and in winter -4 °C. There is a snow cover of about 50–60 cm which lasts from mid-November until mid-March, for about 120 days a year. However one can expect snowfalls from the end of September.Is host to a number of hotels and restaurants, the majority of which cater for foreign tourists. Two of the better known restaurants are Șura Dacilor (The Dacians' Barn) and Coliba Haiducilor (The Outlaws' Shack). There is also one nightclub, Capra Neagră (The Chamois), adjacent to a pizza place which plays a mixture of Europop and dance music.Amongst other attractions in Poiana Brașov visitors can find traditional mulled wine and a pepper spiced alcoholic drink known as tzuică as well as other traditional Romanian fare. Romania-winter wonderland.
It was a fairy vacation and the most exciting for our daughter was_ seeing snow for the first time in her life_an adventure that that she will always remember.
Brasov — one of Romania's top tourist destinations, the perfect place to learn how to ski, the pistes are well-groomed and good for beginners and intermediates, as is the ski school, which has a great reputation for friendly English-speaking instructors.
Bran Castle - is a national monument, commonly known as Dracula's Castle. This splendid royal palace is situated in the immediate vicinity of Brașov (30 km) and is open to the public, who are able to peer into its creaky rooms and dark passageways. The small stairs, the great walls, the interior court and the smell, they all make you feel the medieval atmosphere, the old ages, and the spirit of Dracula still alive.
Castle of Horror ????. The real name of this attraction is Castelul Groazei or ‘haunted castle’????. This is a funny (and for kids creepy) ghost attraction like on a fair. Dark labyrinth, scary monsters and sounds, moving objects and guys dressed in creepy costumes trying to scare you or make you scream. Kids, couples or friends who like a laugh and a scream will enjoy it a lot.

Am deschis SEZONUL DE IARNA in Poiana Brasov
Hai afara la zapadaaa! Iarna e sezonul meu preferat, incepe sa-mi placa mai mult decat vara pentru ca iubesc sporturile de iarna, mai exact snowboard-ul si zapada imi da o stare de bine.

The best skii destination in Romania, Poiana Brasov
Poiana Brașov is one of the most popular ski resort in Romania, but not only, it also attracts many tourists from all around Europe. I am here in Poiana Brasov, because for a long time I have desired to be able to snowboard and today I am taking that first step in learning how.
Mihai - the ski instructor from scoala de schii was kind enough to show me the basic things in order to quickly start snowboarding. After 2 hours of learning, practicing I was able to nicely slip down from the hill.
After a full day of snowboarding and falling, I got soaked wet. By the time I got back to the hotel, I found myself locked out. Hmm, weird isn't it? I knock on the door, cause I didn't know what else to do. Five minutes passed by, no one answers, I know again. Ten minutes, 15 minutes passed by and nothing. I decided that I should find a place to eat and warm up. Just when I started leaving, the receptionist ran after me and asked me to quickly go inside. I ran inside with her and she told me that she locked the door because two bears were outside of the hotel. Wait a minute. What??? There are two wild bears outside and you locked me out???! The wet cloths are frozen on me, I wouldn't even be able to run in case I had to. Well, same thing happened the second day. True story. :)
The second day I explored the a little bit the forest, took a few pictures and flew my drone. Right after that I went up to the mountain and had a nice coffee at 1725m altitude.
Later on in the day I traveled back home, back to Zalau.
Such a nice way to end your 2017, visiting some of the best cities in Romania and do things I wished for.
The plans for 2018, one word: Mountains. I am turning 30 years old this year, so I am planning to do 30 peaks by my 30th.
Till then enjoy my first snowboard experiences, falls and some amazing winter forest views.
