Point Atkinson Lighthouse was built in 1914 on granite boulders jutting out into Burrard Inlet in West Vancouver, Canada. The reinforced concrete structure replaces an earlier wood structure built in 1875. The concrete structure was considered at the time innovative in lighthouse design. It is now automated and still in use. The Point Atkinson Lighthouse may be reached by hiking the Valley Trail in Lighthouse Park.

Lighthouse at Atkinson Point

Beautiful lighthouse…in a beautiful part of Vancouver. The lighthouse at Atkinson Point in West Vancouver takes your breath away.

Lighthouse Park (West Vancouver) and Cypress Mountain Lookout (North Vancouver).

The Point Atkinson Lighthouse was built in 1912 and located in a peninsula in West Vancouver, facing Burrard Inlet.
The Cypress Mountain Lookout can be seen on your way up to Cypress Mountain Skii Resort. The lookout overlooks North Vancouver area, Burrard Inlet, English Bay, Stanley Park, Vancouver Harbour and downtown Vancouver.

Once again, there was a low ledge, and a fair amount of space to take off from, but I attracted a crowd and landing got a lot more difficult. The problem with most places that are photogenic is that people want to go there.

BTW: Eagles aren't scared of drones. I'm pretty sure one of them would have taken it out if it felt like it.
