AUSTRALIA - MURRUMBIDGEE RIVER - KAYAK - 'THARWA BRIDGE TO POINT HUT CROSSING'
nice paddle with some small raids - very cold
Point Hut Crossing flooded : 30/06/2007
Due to the rain & snow the Canberra region has recieved over the past week, the Murrumbidgee River in south Canberra has flooded the Point Hut crossing. This was a minor flood but it has caused the crossing to be closed to traffic for 2 days.
The residents of Tharwa who previously had a 5km trip to Canberra until the closure of Tharwa Bridge in sept 2006 have been travelling 15km through Point Hut crossing since then. Due to the crossing being flooded they now have to travel 40km through Cotter to get to Canberra.
NOTE: Apologies for the overly dramatic music in the clip - I love Sculthorpe's music & I have been wanting to use some for a while now. Also apologies for all the typos - the footy on TV was calling me & I neglected to proof read what I had typed.

Canberra Stormwater
A recent early morning paddle down Curtin creek after a lot of rain the day before. Urban white (brown) water). Hazards include shopping trolley strainers, killer Carp and the everpresent e coli. A fun start to the day ;-)

AUSTRALIAN CHRISTMAS @ COCKLE CREEK, TASMANIA
Every Canadians dream right now, Christmas on the beach!
This year I celebrated Christmas at Cockle Creek, the most Southern part of all Tasmania, and Australia. I was literally on the edge of the world. Closest I have ever been to Antarctica (and may ever be!)
It was my second Christmas in Australia and although I still would've chosen being with my family (minus the freezing Nova Scotia weather), it wasn’t such a bad day.
I hope to see many more National Parks before my time in Tasmania is done!

Pradopoint Day Trip Part1 9-10-2010 In and Out of Harry's Hut
With all the rain about we still decided to head out to Harry's Hut.
As you can see there was plenty of water lying around but the track in an out was very easy going.
Sunshine Coast 4wd tracks, HARRY's HUT
Thanks for watching. This is a very new channel, it will have a focus on 4wding and modifications. We will dive the awesome tracks on the islands and beaches around SEQ and Northern NSW. Will focus on maps, spots and tracks that are fun to drive and lead to great camp grounds and fishing spots.

68. Bay of Fires, Tasmania
The Bay of Fires campground is a very popular Free camp located directly beside the beach just north of St Helens in Tasmania.
There is no facilities except the one toilet block we saw although there may be more further north of where we stayed. There is no water, showers, bins or power.
The campground is pet friendly.
We had very limited phone coverage but where we are parked I was able to receive Telstra.
The campground is very busy during peak periods.
The road in is unsealed but it's a very easy short drive accessible by car or any 2wd vehicle.
Our cost to stay was Nil
Our stay was 25-27th January 2017
