Point Richmond, California
Point Richmond, also sometimes referred to locally as The Point. Point Richmond is a neighborhood in Richmond, California, United States, near the eastern end of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, between Interstate 580 and the San Francisco Bay. Its compact size and many historic buildings give it a quaint small town feel.
Originally a tiny village known as East Yards surrounded by abandoned farm lands, Point Richmond was Richmond's central downtown area from the late 19th century until the early 20th century, when the present downtown superseded it as the busiest part of town. Since then, its trademark mom-and-pop shops have survived. The Point Richmond Historic District has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978.
The neighborhood is dominated to the north by several industrial operations, including a large Chevron refinery, several smaller chemical manufacturing facilities and an active Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight yard. Long distance freight trains are put together in this yard, largely consisting of container cars and automobile transports loaded from the nearby Port of Richmond.

The largest, Richmond, Virginia, is the namesake of the California city.
The Ohlone Indians were the first inhabitants of the Richmond area, settling an estimated 5,000 years ago.
The name Richmond appears to predate actual incorporation by more than fifty years. Edmund Randolph, originally from Richmond, Virginia, represented the city of San Francisco when California's first legislature met in San Jose in December 1849, and he became state assemblyman from San Francisco.

Pinole is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 18,390 in 2010.
The name derives from “pinole”, a Native American word for a kind of flour made from the seeds of maize, chia, and various other grasses and annual herbs. An expedition under Pedro Fages was said to have run out of provisions while exploring the area, and been fed pinole by a local village, and so the Spaniards named their camp “El Pinole”.
In 1823, Ygnacio Martinez, commandant of the Presidio of San Francisco, received a land grant of Rancho El Pinole from the Mexican government. Martinez built a hacienda in Pinole Valley at the present side of Pinole Valley Park. During the 1850s, Bernardo Fernandez, a Portuguese immigrant, started a trading facility on the shores of San Pablo Bay and eventually built the historic Fernandez Mansion, which still stands today at the end of Tennent Avenue. From these early beginnings, a small but thriving community grew into the city now known as Pinole.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 13.6 square miles 5.3 square miles of it is land, and 8.3 square miles of it is water.

U.S. EPA Celebrates Earth Day at Breuner Marsh in Richmond, CA

U.S. EPA Regional Administrator Jared Blumenfeld announced on Earth Day nearly $5 million in EPA grants to state and local agencies to restore water quality and wetlands throughout the San Francisco Bay watershed at a ceremony held at Breuner Marsh (Richmond, Calif.) The Breuner Marsh restoration will create and restore more than 160 acres of wetland and upland habitat at Breuner Marsh along the Point Pinole Regional Shoreline in Richmond. The project will create a self-sustaining wetland complex that will filter polluted run-off, support native plant and animal species, and protect against projected sea level rise in the next century.

Adrienne Floreen Wants to Spend the Night in a Hotel Room: Extended Stay America in Richmond, CA
Adrienne Floreen and her family are on a road trip across California while plumbers are remodeling her bathroom. After a trip to the beach where the water is too cold, Eugene Floreen becomes hypothermic and the family decides to stop at a hotel for the night. However, at this time (late July of 2018) a lot of people have been evacuated due to the same wildfire (the Carr fire) that rerouted Adrienne Floreen's road trip, and all of the hotels that aren't full have raised their rates. Adrienne Floreen is forced to pay almost 300 dollars for a one bed room at the Extended Stay America Hotel, located in a dangerous area of Richmond, California, where cars are being broken into in the hotel parking lot on the very night of their stay. After being up for much of the night washing laundry and talking to the plumbers and her parents, an exhausted and stressed out Adrienne Floreen frantically cooks breakfast and tries to check out of the hotel before check out time. Filmed in late July/early August of 2018.

Intruder on my property 6-7-2013 12:30am. Pinole, CA
Found the wires cut to 2 of my cameras and I found this footage the next day. He looks like he's hiding from someone in a car. He leaves after about 5 mins of hiding but comes back around 2:20am to disable my motion sensor light and then he cuts the wires to 2 cameras. The 2:20am video will be uploaded separately.
Nothing was broken or stolen as far as I can tell.
