A Bermuda Vacation from 1931 - Some charming chapter cards, rare views of Hamilton & glass bottom row boats viewing the Coral Gardens
Arrival at Hamilton aboard the MS Bermuda, past the Hamilton Princess, the Miles complex complete with chimney and the 1st Bermudiana Hotel. Docking at Front Street with the Hamilton Hotel looming over the city.
Horse and Carriages await their hires under a Bicycles for Hire sign and a glimpse of a quarry can be seen high above (sign probably says stay away). Any idea where this is?
Fishing at Devil's Hole, the young girl is definitely a future angler!
Bananas - likely the first time seen growing on trees, a big patch in the cedar forest. They are next to a road (a sign can be seen) and then outside a cave. Signs at entrance say Kodaks Allowed & No Smoking Allowed Any Idea where this is?
A walk around the forest then on to the shore along the rocky coastline. Cedars can be seen along the edge of a large flat grassy area.
Back to Hamilton, the sheds of Front Street from the water. the steam ferry Triton at 4:15 , an undeveloped Trimingham Hill and the Paget shoreline. A bucket dredger is at anchor off of Whites Island (probably the King George).
Great footage of Front Street and the Point Pleasant Hotel (Today this is Albouy's Point also known as Point Pleasant Park). The BF&M building under construction behind it next to The Bank of Bermuda. The Blucks cottage is seen then past the Bermudiana Hotel with a forest of cedars in its garden. Barrs Bay Park, the large home Scarborough (where the BF&M Building is today) then the cottages along Pitts Bay Road (only 1 exists today)

Our trip is on the Ferry Carona with the front deck full of people ready to be rowed out in the glass bottom boats to view the Coral Gardens. A view of North Shore before the trip back to Hamilton, lots of sailboats are in the sound.
Back at dock, its heavy traffic with a fantastic view of traffic passing the Walker Arcade building left and O H Loblein's store on the right (now Archie Brown / Marks and Spencer). A very interesting view into daily life.
We end with a diver in suite taking a break on the dock.

Some history on the Ferry Carona: Built in 1887 as the ‘Ossining’ for service on the Hudson River, she was purchased and steamed to Bermuda in 1902 to supply the Boer War (1899-1902) prison camps and subsequently served the Somerset-Hamilton ferry route. Taken out of service in 1959 and burned and sunk off Wreck Hill on October 16, 1960. Thank you Derek!

Albuoys Point is located on the eastern side of the City of Hamilton, Bermuda.

Its home to the Hamilton Ferry Terminal, the head office of the Bank of Bermuda, and the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club. The area also features a small park; Point Pleasant Park.

La ville de Hamilton est la capitale des Bermudes. Elle possède non seulement une multitude d'hôtels, restaurants et boutiques mais on y retrouve également de nombreux bâtiments historiques, musées, monuments, etc.

La meilleure façon de découvrir cette ville pour en avoir une idée générale est de la parcourir à pied.

Front Street est une des rues les plus fréquentées de Hamilton. Elle est située en bordure de l'eau. La devanture multicolore des commerces ajoute au charme pittoresque de cette ville.

A la jonction de Front Street et Queen Street, il y a une cage métallique appelée Birdcage qui était utilisée autrefois par les policiers pour diriger la circulation.

Le terminal de traversiers est situé à l'extrémité ouest de Front Street. Trois itinéraires sont offerts afin de se déplacer rapidement sur différentes parties de l'île dont la plus éloignée est le port militaire de la Royal Naval (Royal Naval Dockyard).

Tout près du terminal se trouvent deux jolis parcs: Point Pleasant Park et Barr's Bay Park.

Sur la rue Queen, se trouve le bureau de poste de Perot qui a été érigé au XIXe siècle. Ce bâtiment abrite d'ailleurs encore aujourd'hui un bureau de poste.

On y retrouve également de jolis bâtiments colorés dont le Bermudiana Arcade, un centre commercial qui contient des boutiques et des restaurants. A proximité, se trouve même un restaurant Poulet Frit Kentucky (KFC).

Le City Hall and Arts Centre est situé sur Church Street, une artère principale de la ville. Il s'agit d'un immense complexe blanc dont une rose des vents est peinte sur la tour du bâtiment. Il abrite la Galerie nationale des Bermudes qui présente des oeuvres d'art locales et internationales.

Sur Church Street, vous trouverez également Sessions House qui est en fait le parlement. Il a été érigé au début du XIXe siècle. On le reconnaît par sa fameuse tour de l'horloge qui a été construite à la fin du même siècle pour souligner le jubilé d'or de la Reine Victoria.

A l'arrière du parlement, se trouve l'église méthodiste Wesley.

Toujours sur Church Street, nous vous invitons à visiter la Cathédrale de la Très Sainte Trinité (voir vidéo

Elle vaut vraiment le détour. Elle possède de beaux vitraux et elle est ornée de belles sculptures.

A la jonction de Court Street et Victoria Street se trouve une autre jolie église: St. Paul's AME Church.

Nous sommes revenus sur Front Street et nous nous sommes arrêtés devant l'édifice Cabinet Building. C'est à cet endroit que se rassemble le Sénat.

Vous pouvez également accéder à un joli parc, le Queen Elizabeth Park, à partir des escaliers situés sur la rue Par-La-Ville.

Best Time to Visit Bermuda for Vacation

The best time to visit Bermuda depends on avoiding the cooler winter months and rain in late summer and most of the fall.

Bermuda weather is often attractive on this island paradise -- not too hot, not too cold. Located just 650 miles east of North Carolina, Bermuda shares the same seasons as the United States but with much milder seasonal changes.

Just as the winter months are the coldest in the U.S., they are also coldest in Bermuda. But Bermuda's average winter low is only in the low 60s Fahrenheit.

Winter sea temperatures in the mid-60s are too cold for swimming. But the weather is still mild enough for the many tourist attractions on land that Bermuda has to offer.

There's nothing like a mild winter day to enjoy strolling the cobbled streets of historic St. George, visiting centuries-old churches or touring the working lighthouses.

BERMUDA TEMPERATURES
The average daily high temperature is in the upper 60s Fahrenheit from January through March and in the 70s in April and May.

While August is the warmest month and a favorite time for tourists to enjoy the pristine beaches, it is still a pleasant 86 degrees. Warm enough to bask in the sun, yet not too hot to enjoy being outside.

June, July, and August are the most popular months for tourists to hit the beaches of Bermuda and enjoy snorkeling, sailing, scuba diving, or simply savoring the sun.

Average high temperatures stay in the mid-80s during September, then drop into the 70s from October through December.

Sea temperatures reach the low 80s in July through September, making those months ideal for swimming and lying on the beach.

BERMUDA RAINFALL
Summer is the most popular time to visit Bermuda, but it also is a time for more rainfall.

The island has rain about 15 days each month give or take a few. The low point for total rain is May, which makes it the ideal month for Bermuda's famous beaches and golf courses.

The amount of rain averages less than five inches a month throughout the year. It starts to climb in June and hits a high of more than six inches in October during the peak of the Caribbean hurricane season. It drops back down to normal levels in November.

Bermuda Vacation 1957 ~ Surrey Fringe Top Taxi Tour & North Views from Bermudiana Hotel

Outside of St. Theresa's Cathedral, on Elliot Street, Hamilton - Nuns & a convertible taxi (Church sign looks dated 1951) and a glimpse from the vacant lot next door.
The back of the Bermudiana Hotel (burnt in 1958) - fantastic overland views looking north, Woodbourne Ave (the future Mayflower Court site is a parking lot and cedars) and houses are the neighborhood (now American International and lots of office buildings). The Old Masters building and Shell gas station can also be seen.

Back outside the Bermudiana Hotel and a walk to Pitts Bay Road above Barrs Bay park.

Driving down Front Street, quick stop at Gibbons Garden and pink convertible taxi T 1456 which was their Surrey tour for the day - the driver/owner has been identified as Smitty - Mr. Harold Smith. Shark and turtle fishing at Devils Hole, exterior of the old Mid Ocean Club in Tuckers Town and Windsor Beach.
At the front entrance of the Castle Harbour Hotel and then the mandatory stop at the Aquarium (flamingo flock looking a little sparse that day).
A quick stop at the former Harmony Club. .
At the beach at the Elbow Beach Surf Club and then a dip in the pool and the back of the Bermudiana Hotel..

Bermuda Airport Pan Am Classic Airliners ~ 1973 and 1975

A fantastic glimpse of two classic Pan American Airways jets on the apron at Kindley Field (L.F. Wade International Airport) in Bermuda. The first from 1973 features Clipper Good Hope, a Pan Am Boeing 707-321C (N792PA) deplaning with flight attendants wearing the iconic Edith Head designed uniforms. Great view of the boarding stairs and aircraft exterior. The second features a Pan Am Boeing 747-121 from the cabin on approach to Bermuda with a nice view of the Pratt & Whitney J79D engines in-flight. Deplaning in Bermuda with a nice shot of the classic Jumbo on the apron.

TRAVEL VLOG!! Road trip with COTTON CANDY SOCKS

I went on a road trip with my friends to colorado! Fort collins to be specific, Rob had some socks that git dyed cotton candy colors... hence the name of the video. The real reason we went was to retrieve some of Robs belongings, He was moving back home. But that was not my plan! I wanted to cram as many fun things into the trip as possible. This is just the story of us getting there! They say that the fun comes from the journey not the destination.. I would agree to an extent.. im 6 foot 2... this means i dont fit in cars too well. I wont complain though, i got to spend so great time with two of my good friends. There is no doubt ill be back to Colorado. Its an awsome place to be.
