Point to Point Walk - Auckland, New Zealand | Caths World
Hey everyone, Liam and I decided to go for another walk around Auckland :) we did the Point to Point walk which takes you from St Heliers Bay and finishes at Point England. On this walk you see stunning views of the city and the Harbour.
I love exploring my own city :) we didn't do the whole thing as the weather wasn't great, but we did about 2/3rd of the walk.

So here is my second edit from my drone. learned a couple more lessons on shooting with the drone. As you can probably tell my gimbal was on a tilt for some of this footage. So i found out how to correct that automatically through using the remote control. The Dji Mavic Pro is by far the most versatile drone i have ever used! It is a must for anyone wanting to add to their drone catalogue or just something to start of with.

Not far from Mission Bay in Auckland is the picturesque coastal community of St. Heliers. The beach offers amazing views of Rangitoto, a playground and is dog friendly.

Metrolink Bus Auckland - Drivers/Center View - St Heliers Beach to City
Special from St Heliers to City along Tamaki Drive, two views the latter gets too dark when I switch interior lights off but still a decent view. This bus formerly was painted in the NZ Breast Cancer Foundation 'Pink' colours but now wears the new AT Metro look.

Kohimarama Beach Auckland New Zealand
This laid-back beach features a waterfront walkway, viewing benches & open space for recreation. A good option if you want to avoid the busier beach of Mission Bay. Kohimarama is one of several beaches off Tamaki Drive as you head east out of Auckland. It's a quieter option to the popular beach side suburb of Mission Bay and its array of cafes and bars.
The beach side walkway offers a pleasant walk towards St Heliers or a scenic walk to Mission Bay and all the way back to downtown Auckland. The beach itself has plenty of benches to sit back and enjoy the views of The Hauraki Gulf and Rangitoto Island.
The suburb has a population of approximately 6000 and is one of the wealthiest postcodes of Auckland with many houses enjoying uninterrupted views of the beach and Rangitoto Island.
The name Kohimarama is derived from 'Kohimaramara' and referred to the area Bastion Rock to Gower Point, including the Bay to the west known now as Mission Bay. Kohimarama refers to the gathering together of scattered wood chips from the caving of Waka (canoes).
Kohimarama used to be part of the Kohimarama Block, land acquired by European settlers from the indigenous Māori. This was a large area, from Orakei-Mission Bay to the Tamaki River and from the Waitematā Harbour to the outskirts of Panmure. Kohimarama’s former name was Waiparera, ‘duck water’, as the area was a breeding ground of the parera, the wild grey duck. This name was used by the Māori and by the European settlers, the Pākehā, until 1870. Arriving in Auckland in 1841, William Field Porter, was a month too late for the first Government auction, but became the first settler in today’s Kohimarama after the second auction. Then the area consisted of a lagoon, a raupo swamp and the Kohimarama beach, the longest beach in the Harbour. Porter sent men to clear, fence and drain the area. One of these men was Thomas Kemp, later to be a landowner of the neighboring suburb, Mission Bay.
The Kohimarama Wharf was built in 1912 on the Pipimea Head between Kohimarama and Mission Bay.The first business in Kohimarama was a tearoom which catered to the people arriving at the newly built wharf. The access to the wharf was not easy; people had to walk around the rocks to and from the wharf which ultimately led to the building of the road now known as Tamaki Drive.
From 1892 to 1919, Kohimarama was also known as the ‘Jockey Bay’, since the area was used as a training ground for race horses. In 1919, the stables were moved to Ronaki Road, Mission Bay, and the land in Kohimarama was leased to W.H. Madill, a dairy farmer.
Today, Kohimarama is one of the quieter beaches along Tamaki Drive with some cosy cafes present along the beach front. The Kohimarama Yacht Club is located on Tamaki Drive. This club was set up in 1939 for young people and the construction of the club house at Gower’s Point, between the Kohimarama and Saint Heliers, was finished in 1957.

Mt Eden, Auckland central suburb
Mt Eden, Auckland
Mount Eden is a central suburb in Auckland. Phillip had an exam in Mt Eden. We walked along the streets, and filmed a little bits. There were many cars in the morning busy time.
There are two popular attractions in this area, Mt Eden Domain and Eden Park ( New Zealand's iconic national stadium),
The information below is from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mount Eden is a suburb in Auckland, New Zealand whose name honours George Eden, 1st Earl of Auckland. It is 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) south of the Central Business District (CBD). Mt Eden Road winds its way around the side of Mount Eden Domain and continues to weave back and forth as it descends into the valley; it runs south from Eden Terrace to Three Kings. Mt Eden village centre is located roughly between Valley Road and Grange Road. The domain is accessible on foot from many of the surrounding streets, and by vehicle from Mt Eden Road. The central focus of the suburb is Maungawhau / Mount Eden, a dormant volcano whose summit is the highest natural point on the Auckland isthmus.

Auckland Travel Guide, Orakei Basin, Auckland
Orakei Basin, Auckland
Orakei Basin was a flooded volcanic crater with a mangrove forest connected to the Waitemata Harbour by Pourewa Creek and Hobson Bay.
The walkway includes a 650m boardwalk, which runs over the water alongside the existing rail corridor, and a footbridge that crosses the Orakei Creek arm of the basin.
It was really fun walking along the boardwalk, the scenery was great and you could see a lot of birds swimming or resting.
