The Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust Blue and Gold Macaw Conservation Programme
The Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust has been involved in breeding and release of Blue and Gold Macaws into natural habitats in Trinidad. Occasionally, these magnificent birds fall prey to the illegal pet trade in the country. The Trust and its staff proactively plays their part in ensuring that these birds can be rescued and integrated back into the wild.
Waterfowl Conservation in Trinidad
Sylvan Heights Bird Park has partnered with the Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust in Trinidad in an effort to restore native populations of White-faced Whistling Ducks and Bahama Pintail on the island. Sylvan Heights Executive Director Mike Lubbock tells the story of the project and his trip to Trinidad with the birds.

The Black- Bellied Whistling Tree Duck (Dendrocygna autumnalis) a locally endangered species in Trinidad are bred and released at the Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust. This is a family of young Black Bellied ducklings feeding and swimming in the Trust Main Breeding Lake.
H. E. The President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago visits the P-a-P Wildfowl Trust
The President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, H.E. Paula-Mae Weekes visited the Trust on Thursday 23rd August, 2018. As the Honorary Patron of the Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust, H.E. observed first- hand the implementation of some of the Trust’s hands-on programmes gaining information on the many aspects of the Trust’s wide portfolio of Environmental and Public Awareness work with students, teachers, Brownies, Guides, Scouts, Community Organizations and the differently- abled. H.E. was also pleased to receive in-depth information on the Trust’s breeding and release programmes of Trinidad and Tobago’s endangered wetland waterfowl and other birds like our National bird, the Scarlet Ibis.

The Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust celebrates World Wetlands Day with visiting school Montrose Government Primary School.
Activities will continue throughout the week.
New Boardwalk For The Differently-Abled At The Wildfowl Trust
The Pointe-a-Pierre Wildfowl Trust's new boardwalk for the differently-abled was officially opened on Saturday afternoon, by President Paula-Mae Weekes.
President Weekes, who is also the Honorary patron of the trust said the restoration of the boardwalk gives members of the differently abled society in Trinidad and Tobago the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the trust in all its splendour.
