STORYLINE:
The remains of 190 people were discovered at a monastery in western Ukraine that was used by the Soviet secret police after World War II, investigators said on Thursday.
The remains - including those of 70 children, some less than one year old - were discovered by monks restoring a Greek Catholic monastery in Zhovkva, 570 kilometers (340 miles) west of the capital Kiev, said Mykhailo Pavlyshyn, a leader of a team of experts investigating the burial site.
Monks doing maintenance work found the remains, along with some postwar photographs, in three rooms at the monastery that had been sealed off with bricks.
Investigators said the monastery was occupied by Nazi forces during World War II and later by the N-K-V-D, the predecessor to the K-G-B or secret police.
The building was also used as a medical school, Pavlyshyn said.
Experts on Soviet-era repressions who have been to the site suspect the remains belonged to victims of the N-K-V-D, which persecuted millions of Soviet citizens, but say it is too early to tell for sure.
However, he said there was little hope of proving N-K-V-D responsibility beyond doubt, since N-K-V-D records of the time were moved to Moscow, where they are still classified.

Presentation of Kyevproject
Kyevproject sought to visualize the buildings of the 1960-80s as a single aesthetic space, accenting the significant body of Kyev neomodernist architecture from the Soviet period. The architects of Grupa Predmetiv put 80 of these buildings on a map of the city. Three of these buildings that are no longer used today - the rotunda in Sputnik Park on Umanska Street, the entrance to the M. M. Gryshko National Botanic Garden and the ticket pavilion in Hidropark - were transformed into a modern folly.
Grupa Predmetiv is made up of architects Oleksandr Burlaka, Ivan Melnychuk and Vlad Goldakovskiy. The union was created in 2007. They study urban transformations and collaborate with artists on projects.
Recent projects include: Wal (together with Centrala, Warsaw) in the special Ukrainian-polish project Double Game within the framework of Arsenale (Kyev, Ukraine, 2012) and exhibition City Porn at VCRC (Kyev, Ukraine, 2011).

When they drink, if everybody leaves them alone and they enjoy themselves and they have a singsong, no problems. OK. Heavy policing, we have problems. It's a difficult one, but you can see we were with all the German people yesterday. Today it's a party.

9. SOUNDBITE: (English) Stephen Thomas, assistant chief constable in Manchester in charge of British police in Germany:
What happened yesterday is that about six o'clock (1600 GMT) when I first went to that area - near the fan festival - there were about 3-hundred English supporters having a great time, drinking, singing, entertaining the crowd and part of the kind of the atmosphere. Unfortunately as the evening went on it became dark, midnight came, the crowd lessened, the supporters then started singing racist and insulting songs to members of all different teams: Australia, Croatia, Tunisia and Germany.

11. SOUNDBITE: (English) Stephen Thomas, assistant chief constable in Manchester in charge of British police in Germany:
At 1.30 (2330 GMT) in the morning there was 122 supporters left, they refused to move, they carried on singing, they carried on misbehaving. Some chairs were thrown, some bottles and the glasses they were drinking were thrown and so the police decided they should make the arrests and they arrested 122.

13. SOUNDBITE: (English) Stephen Thomas, assistant chief constable in Manchester in charge of British police in Germany:
We have 60-thousand fans expected here in Stuttgart, the vast majority will behave, they will enjoy themselves, they will sing, they will dance, they will enjoy the football, than we have a small number, of perhaps two or 3-hundred who will get very drunk and will not do what the police will tell them.
14. Mid of police officers speaking to football fans
STORYLINE:
England fans gathered on Saturday on Schloss Platz, or Palace Square, in Stuttgart ahead of Sunday's game against Ecuador for a place in the World Cup quarter-finals.
Spirits were high, fuelled with beer and football songs but Friday night disturbances involving English football fans have raised some concerns amongst British police forces deployed for Sunday's game.
German police arrested 122 English soccer fans who had been throwing bottles and glasses at passers-by in the early hours of Saturday morning.
At least 50-thousand England fans are expected in Stuttgart for the match, along with a heavy police presence.
About 1,800 German officers will be on patrol side by side with British police.
Stephen Thomas, an assistant chief constable from Manchester and part of the British contingent, said he was optimistic that there would be no major fan violence.
The vast majority will behave, they will enjoy themselves, they will sing, they will dance, they will enjoy the football, he said.
Then we have a small number, of perhaps two or 3-hundred who will get very drunk and will not do what the police will tell them, he added.
England won the World Cup in 1966 but the closest it's gone since was the 1990 semi-finals, where it lost on penalties.

Russia: Rally to 'Stop the genocide of the Donbass people' takes place in Moscow

Anna, Originally from Gorlovka in Donetsk Region (Russian): May 26, 2015, at the time of the signing of the Minsk agreements we were with my husband at home. I just arrived from hospital, I gave birth to a daughter, she was two weeks old. The eldest daughter, 11 years old, just got back from school, five days earlier we celebrated her birthday. Then our house was hit by three shells of the Ukrainian army. We have evidence of ballistic examination. I sent the claim to the Strasbourg court on this issue and to Moscow to the Investigative Committee. As a result of this attack, I lost my eldest daughter. Katya was killed by a shell. We were in the garden, had to run to the threshold. My husband barely had time to cover me with his body, it tore him to pieces. The house fell on my two year old son. He is a disabled child now. I had to dig him out with one hand because the other was torn off by a shell.
Anna, Originally from Gorlovka in Donetsk Region (Russian): But such firing, as takes place in Donetsk, did not happen in Gorlovka. Because in Donetsk they launched the Tochka U [OTR-21 Tochka], 500 kg of TNT. Many experiments were carried out against us during this time. Phosphorus bombs were thrown at Lugansk and with cluster bombs they bombed Gorlovka.

Ukrainian Unrest Spreads; Dozens Dead In Odessa
Ukraine launched an offensive against separatist forces for control of a besieged eastern city Friday, while clashes between pro- and anti-government activists in the previously calm southern port of Odessa led to a fire that police said killed 31 people. The first serious offensive by the government in Kiev and the dozens of deaths in Odessa sharply escalated the crisis that has led to the worst tensions between Russia and the West since the Cold war.

STORYLINE
Police in the Turkish capital, Ankara, sprayed tear gas and pressurised water to break up hundreds of protesters as clashes continued on Saturday night.
Protesters hurled objects, burned barricades and chanted slogans, such as we are against fascism.
Also on Saturday night, in Istanbul's central Taksim Square, police carried out arrests following clashes with demonstrators.
Earlier, police used water cannon to disperse thousands gathered in Istanbul's Taksim Square to observe a memorial for four people killed during recent
anti-government protests.
The officers later fired tear gas and rubber bullets, and in some cases beat people with batons, to scatter demonstrators who regrouped in side streets.
The police move came as Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared that foreign-led conspirators he alleges are behind the anti-government movement in his country also are fomenting the recent unrest in Brazil.
The protests in Turkey erupted three weeks ago after riot police brutally cracked down on peaceful environmental activists who opposed plans to develop Gezi Park, which lies next to Taksim.
The demonstrations soon turned into expressions of discontent with what critics say is Erdogan's increasingly authoritarian and meddlesome ways.
Erdogan, who took power a decade ago, denies he is authoritarian and, as evidence of his popularity, points to elections in 2011 that returned his party to power with 50 percent of the vote and gave him a third term in office.
Erdogan has faced fierce international criticism for his government's crackdown on the protests, but he has defended his administration's actions as well as the tough police tactics.
He also has blamed the protests on unspecified foreign forces, bankers and foreign and Turkish media outlets he says want to harm Turkish interests.
