Walrus at Polin Beach, near Kinlochbervie, Scotland 17.5.18 Pt. 3
...having made it to the sea, we saw him only briefly as he turned back toward land, then was gone in the surf. Epic!!!
Polin Beach with the dogs
A lovely beach, though less accessible than Oldshoremore. The dogs loved it, particularly when Rocket finally found one of her beloved ‘sea-monsters’ - a piece of kelp with fronds and stalk. Once she’d ‘killed’ it a bit, she dragged her trophy proudly all the way back to the footpath to show it off.

Kinlochbervie Chapter One
RETURN TO SHEIGRA
Let us take the quiet path where the sea wind passes,
And the rustling grasses ebb and flow.
Where the sun lights glancing between shadows dancing
Let us tread the path in silence where we ran so long ago.
There’s a cottage on the hillside where memories still linger
In the light winds fingers that caress the well-loved door,
And down the rippling grasses the quiet voice that passes
Is the memory of laughter as we run down to the shore.
In the wild wind blowing we will find our children’s laughter
It will ring forever after it will sound forever more,
In the whispering grasses we will find our children’s voices
We will find our children’s footsteps on the lonely shore.
