A quick walk to Ponta Verde beach, Maceió
Before checking out of my hotel at noon, I take a quick walk North to Ponta Verde to explore a sandbar which has emerged during low tide.
With only a few hours remaining, I decide to relax at my favorite beach spot while enjoying the scenery.
Overall, I really enjoyed my visit here and just like everywhere else, I wish I could have stayed longer. The beaches here were clean, safe and gentile. The vendors were not greatly aggressive and it was never too crowded. The nightlife was enough for me- certainly not too crazy, but maybe not enough excitement for others to enjoy. Restaurants were abundant and the local food choices varied and priced well.
My next adventure will take me about 35 kilometers down the coast to Barra do Sao Miguel for a few days there.

Pajuçara beach with some nightlife, Maceió, Brazil
After a really fun day exploring the reefs, I head back to my favorite beach spot in Pajuçara. I always have good conversation with my friend Julian who keeps me updated on all the latest news around town. Everyday he works the same spot renting tables and umbrellas on the beach -I think this will be my new career soon! ;)
As the afternoon turns to evening, I make my way to Kanoa Beach Bar in Ponta Verde. This is one of the more popular Kiosks in the area. The area was alive with many people jogging, biking and having fun. I had a very nice meal at a reasonable price however many people were still waiting for food after I left.
Returning to my hotel, I discovered the three story crafts pavilion. There were so many cool things and you could get lost exploring all the shops.
Sadly, I only have one more half day in Maceió until my next adventure in another place. So stay tuned for that final video and more adventures in the state of Alagoas.

A convite da secretaria de turismo de Maceió fui conhecer o famoso CARIBE BRASILEIRO. Praias lindas, mar azul piscina com água quentinha, muita gente querida hospitaleira e calorosa, comidas incríveis cheias de pimenta e muita história, falésias e um sotaque pra lá de gostoso!
Conheci algumas praias lindíssimas de Alagoas, como a intimista Garça Torta, a chicuda Ipioca, a mais famosa do Francês, as lindíssimas falésias do Gunga, a de águas verdes e cristalinas Ponta Verde e vi um pôr do sol espetacular ao som dos passarinhos no Pontal da Barra.

Timelapse - Ponta Verde - Ponta Verde (Portuguese meaning green tip) is a beach in Maceió, capital city of Alagoas, state of Brazil. A tip of land that rises out of the sea and is covered by green palm trees. This is the phenomenon that gave its name to one of the most frequented beaches in Maceió. In the past, it housed one of the most famous symbols of the city, “The Rhea Neck”, a palm tree whose trunk resembled a rhea’s neck. It was located near the present Yacht Club Alagoas (Clube Alagoinha). The reefs form natural pools and it is very common, during low tides, to see tourists bathing in these pools, especially near the lighthouse. There are some stands with live music, bars, restaurants, snack bars, and hotels. - Ponta Verde é um bairro nobre e uma praia badalada de Maceió. Nela encontram-se excelentes restaurantes e hotéis. Possui marcalmo, com alguns trechos de praia larga próprios para a prática de esportes. Na praia existiu um dos pontos turísticos mais cantados, versados e contados de Maceió, o Gogó da Ema, um coqueiro que nasceu torto à beira-mar e tinha a forma do pescoço de uma ema, derrubado pelo avanço do mar na década de 1960. Era o local dos encontros entre namorados nas décadas de 1950 e 1960. De lá se observa, quando da lua cheia, um espetáculo visual dos mais encantadores. Hoje no local existe um clube, o Alagoas Iate Clube, ponto de divisão entre as praias da Ponta Verde e dos Sete Coqueiros.
