Mexico's Popocatépetl volcano spews ash high into the sky
One of Mexico's most active volcanoes has sent a huge ash plume into the sky, the country's centre of disaster monitoring has reported.
Overnight video taken by the centre shows ash and incandescent material shooting from the Popocatépetl volcano 2,000m (6,500ft) into the air.
People have been warned to avoid the area inside the 12km security radius surrounding its crater.
Ash has been falling on communities near the volcano.
Carlos Valdés, the director-general of the monitoring centre, Cenapred, posted footage of the eruption on his Twitter account.
He wrote that incandescent material had been thrown 400m down the slopes of Popocatépetl.

Guatemala volcano explodes
It was the first strong volcanic activity in the last six weeks
Guatemala City: Guatemala’s Fuego volcano, which erupted on June 3 killing 165 people, recorded a strong new explosion accompanied by avalanches around the crater, authorities said.
According to the National Institute for Seismology, Vulcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology, the explosion occurred at around 9.20pm and was the first strong volcanic activity in the last six weeks, reports Efe news.
The explosion was accompanied by rumblings and shock waves as the volcano ejected “abundant incandescent material” to a height of 4,800 metres and blew out a column of ash that moved 12km westward.
“This explosion is the first strong one to be recorded in the last six weeks and may be the beginning of another phase of activity,” the institute warned.
The 3,763-metre-high volcano is located around 50km west of the Guatemalan capital.
The June eruption was one of the biggest in its history. It also left 260 missing and almost two million people affected.

Mexico ex-governor pleads guilty to corruption, gets 9 years
(27 Sep 2018) Mexican prosecutors said Thursday that the former governor of Mexico's Gulf coast state of Veracruz has pleaded guilty to charges of organized crime and money laundering.
It was an anti-climactic end to Mexico's highest-profile corruption case in recent years.
Javier Duarte took a leave from the governorship of Veracruz and fled to Guatemala before being extradited back to Mexico in July 2017 to face justice.
Duarte got a nine-year sentence and had 41 properties seized as part of the plea deal.
But Duarte will not have to pay reparations, and could apply for parole within as little as three years.
Prosecutors said Duarte embezzled millions in state money and used much of it to buy properties.
Munoz said that after serving 4½ years — half the sentence — Duarte could apply for parole, and that he will be credited for the 1 ½ years he has already spent in prison.
Munoz said the value of the properties seized was very significant and was almost equivalent to reparation.
Duarte was one of a string of other governors from the former ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party who were charged in corruption cases.
Public disgust with the ex-governors is believed to have played a role in their party's crushing defeat in the July 1 presidential and state elections.

Here's Why Mexico Is in One of The Worst Possible Places For Earthquakes
Mexico sits atop three of Earth's largest tectonic plates - the North American plate, the Cocos Plate, and the Pacific Plate.
Whenever these chunks of crust grind or butt up against one another, earthquakes happen. As a former lakebed, Mexico City is also home to soft soil that essentially acts as an amplifier for tremors, often making smaller earthquakes feel much larger.
On Tuesday, a deadly quake reverberated along the boundary between the Cocos and the North American plate as the southern-most plate slid beneath its northern neighbour.
The 7.1-magnitude temblor, which struck about 3 miles northeast of the city of Raboso, happened less than two weeks after the country was struck by an even more powerful 8.1-magnitude quake and 32 years to the day after a deadly magnitude 8.1 quake killed more than 9,500 people in Mexico City.
Mexico is one of the most seismically active countries in the world. Over the past century, the country has seen 19 earthquakes within 155 miles of the epicentre of today's earthquake, according to the US Geological Survey.
Earthquakes aren't the only local hazard, either - the region is also repeatedly subject to volcanic eruptions.
South of today's earthquake epicentre, two volcanoes - El Chichón and Volcán de Colima - erupted in 1982 and 2005, respectively.
Two other active volcanoes southeast of Mexico City called Popocatépetl and Ixtaccíhuatl occasionally vent visible gas, and the former erupted most recently in 2010.
Much of Mexico City is built on a former lakebed, where soft soil has been found to intensify the effects of earthquakes.
A paper published shortly after the area's 1985 earthquake found that the shaking had been amplified by as much as 500 percent in regions near the epicentre where the soil was the softest.
Since then, the city has taken some steps to manage the risk from future quakes - such as updating building codes near the capital and launching an earthquake early warning system - but many parts of the country still suffer from a lack of safe infrastructure.

Quake Expert Eyes Inactive Area on Mexico Coast
A Calif. seismologist says the Guerrero Gap, an area along Mexico's coast that earthquakes have avoided, may be facing some seismic activity in the future. That observation comes after a 7.4-magnitude quake rattled central and southern Mexico. (March 20)

WHAT WE BELIEVE BIBLICALLY
▪Christ-centered-If Jesus said it… we believe it. If Jesus modeled it… we want to live it. If Jesus commanded it… we want to obey it. We believe everything Jesus practiced and preached is as relevant for us today as it was at the time of Christ’s earthly life and ministry.
▪Non-denominational-Having no authority or doctrines dictated by any outside board or affiliation.” We believe in order to stay as true as possible to the patterns of church life in the New Testament, we must avoid denominational labels and doctrines that identify us with one group exclusively. This does not mean, however, that anything goes!
▪Jesus Christ-Jesus is the only Son of God. We believe that His earthly life and ministry demonstrated and proved this: All people matter to God. We believe that if anyone wants to come to God, they must first invite Jesus Christ to be Savior and Lord of their life.
▪Worship-worship is fundamental to the abundant life of a growing Christian. We encourage all expressions of worship we read about in the Bible.
▪The Bible (KJV) Preferred-The only complete and infallible written Word of God. We also believe God still speaks to us today through His Holy Spirit.
▪What we believe about… You-EVERYONE seeking/not seeking Christ is welcome to hear the word of God.. NO ONE IS BEYOND SAVING! We love you as Christ loves the Church & hope God will work Miracles in your life to find a Relationship with you.

Parícutin (or Volcán de Parícutin, also accented Paricutín) is a cinder cone volcano in the Mexican state of Michoacán, close to a lava-covered village of the same name. The volcano is unique in the fact that its evolution from creation to extinction was witnessed, observed and studied. It appears on many versions of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Parícutin is part of the Michoacán–Guanajuato volcanic field, which covers much of west central Mexico. It is part of the Ring of Fire. more info visit :
