A tour of Milford Sound and Fiordland! // video by Herb
Here is an awesome tour that I went during my visit to New Zealand! The tour, operated by Awesome NZ starts in Queenstown, with a midway stop at Te Anau, then a few lookout stops at the Eglinton Valley, Mirror Lakes, Pop's View lookout, the Chasm, before our cruise aboard Jucy Maiden of Milford with panoramic views from the cockpit and the top open deck. The weather wasn't the best, but the unique geography of Milford Sound stood out well.
On the return trip, the driver played on the coach entertainment system the film The World's Fastest Indian, featuring Invercargill racer Burt Munro and the unique Indian motorcycle.

Milford Sound - 100% Pure New Zealand by Motorhome
Day 11 - 1st January 2019 (NEW YEARS DAY) - MILFORD SOUND
08:30 Left Milford Sound Lodge and headed down to the marina in Milford sound, where we collected our tickets.
09:05 - 12:31 Milford Sound (The cruise) was terrific, we were lucky to have some sunshine, as apparently, it rains here three days out of five, the place is stunning, a must do trip.
14:55 After driving back along the New Zealand State Highway 94, and stopping off at a few places along the way such as Marion Corner (Turn Off), where we had a lovely walk across the swing bridge and up to a waterfall. We also stop off at Pop's View lookout (flew the drone), before continuing to Eglinton River (Fiordland National Park) for another bit of drone flying.
By 17:56 we were getting hungry and stopped at The Fat Duck in Te Anau, after food we decided to push on passed Lake Wakatipu (given it at about 20:25) and on to PAK'nSAVE in Queenstown to get some provisions.
21:34 – We couldn’t find a campsite this night, so we had to spend the night in a car park off Gibbston Hwy, near the AJ Hackett Bungy Kawarau Bungy Centre, with about 50 other motorhomes.

A tour of the shower and bath facilities at Gunn's Camp in New Zealand
Gunn's Hollyford Camp is located in the Hollyford Valley near the southwest coast of New Zealand's South Island. The collection of buildings began life in 1938 as a Public Works Department camp built to accommodate married men who were working on the Hollyford-Okuru Road. In 1951 Davey Gunn, a well-known back-country cattle-man who was running Herefords further down the valley bought that camp to use as a base for his farming and tourism ventures. He paid £12 for each hut and built a large communal building with iron and flooring from another abandoned camp.
Davey drowned in the Hollyford on Christmas Day 1955 the camp was taken over by his son Murray who made improvements in his own distinctive style. After 51 years, Murray retired in 2005 and the camp and museum are now run by the Hollyford Museum Charitable Trust.

Goodbye New Zealand
Milford Sound was the last leg of my trip. Slept on a boat in the middle of one of the most incredible places on earth. Also saw my first steam engine on the way.

Christchurch, New Zealand
Christchurch city promises an eclectic mix of historic elegance & contemporary culture. As the gateway to the South Island it's a must-do on any itinerary.
The city has bounced back after a series of earthquakes, and all public services and spaces are running as normal. Lonely Planet listed Christchurch as one of the top 10 cities to visit in 2013 and the New York Times ranked Christchurch second on its list of 52 Places to Go in 2014.
There’s plenty to do in and around this rapidly changing city, like visiting the Re Start shopping area and Pop Up City bars. Old favourites include the International Antarctic Centre, Orana Wildlife Park and walking, mountain biking or driving through the Port Hills for stunning views of the city and coast.
Summers here are warm and mild (Christchurch enjoys more than 2,000 hours of sunshine a year) while winter days are often clear, cool, and calm, while autumn brings a burst of colour and a long period of settled weather. Video Credit: Christchurch & Canterbury Tourism
