PORT DENARAU/NADI AREA, FIJI - DAWN PRINCESS PACIFIC ISLAND 2016 CRUISE- PART 5
Day 7 and we arrive at our first destination in Fiji, Port Denarau. Spent a while there, before taking a half day trip to Nadi, Smuggler's Cove resort (for lunch) and a visit to the Airport and Fruit Market. Back mid afternoon for relaxing and a parade, before catching a catamaran back to the Dawn Princess. 12 November 2016

Port Denarau Marina is Fiji's premier marina facility. As the hub of the integrated Denarau Island Resort, Port Denarau Marina is the gateway to exploring our idilic sun drenched tropical isles of Fiji's Western Division.
Port Denarau-Port & Shopping Mall-Denarau Island-Fiji
Watch Port Denarau which is sometimes called Denarau Marina and the only shopping mall on Denarau Island which is a part of the main island of Fiji, Viti Levu. Port Denarau is a place from which ships and boats go to the other islands of Fiji. Captain Cook Cruises ships dock there. In this video you can see one of them. At the start of the video you'll also see the road leading to Port Denarau which is lined with coconut palm trees. Then, in front of the shopping mall entrance you'll see some decorative foreign palm trees which reportedly originated in Cuba or Haiti.
The shopping area with its cafes and restaurants is where people hang out. On the far side from the port there is a tiled space which is sometimes used for entertainment and dance. At the time when this video was taken the water spouts were turned on and water was periodically squirting out of them controlled by a timer. Nearby you can see local children hanging out and what looks like a tourist with a child walking towards the squirting water.

All I can say is that I absolutely LOVE it here so far. The culture is amazing and the people are some of the most beautiful humans I have ever met. Everyone is so chilled out and welcoming!
In this Vlog, you guys will see highlights from our first two days on Denarau Island, the main island. We stay at a beautiful hotel called The Palms which is right across from Port Denerau.
Port Denarau is where you will catch all of your boats and cruises for day trips and island hopping. There are heaps of good restaurants and shops around this area! Also, the staff here is very helpful- so if you are shit at finding your way around (like me), you will have no problem at all.
In the next FIJI vlogs I will be showing you guys and INCREDIBLE DAY trip that we did; i'll show you the time we spent on Malololailai Island and i'll show you how we spent our last few days back on a resort. I cannot wait :):)

Port Denarau cruising FIJI
This is the 3rd port out of the 4 Fiji ports we stopped at.
Port Denarau which is a port full of beautiful resorts, but we stopped at one in particular, the Radisson. Benon spent some time here and had some friends who worked here. So we got to have a relaxing day by the ocean and it felt great.
