Port Soderick - Isle of Man
Port Soderick - Isle of Man by Drone
The Isle of Man is located in the middle of the northern Irish Sea, almost equidistant from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland (closest), and Wales (farthest). It is 52 kilometres (32 mi) long and, at its widest point, 22 kilometres (14 mi) wide. It has an area of around 572 square kilometres (221 sq mi). Besides the island of Mann itself, the political unit of the Isle of Man includes some nearby small islands: the seasonally inhabited Calf of Man, Chicken Rock on which stands an unmanned lighthouse, St Patrick's Isle and St Michael's Isle. The last two of these are connected to the main island by permanent roads/causeways.
Ranges of hills in the north and south are separated by a central valley. The northern plain, by contrast, is relatively flat, consisting mainly of deposits from glacial advances from western Scotland during colder times. There are more recently deposited shingle beaches at the northernmost point, the Point of Ayre. The island has one mountain higher than 600 metres (2,000 ft), Snaefell, with a height of 620 metres (2,034 ft). According to an old saying, from the summit one can see six kingdoms: those of Mann, Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, and Heaven. Some versions add a seventh kingdom, that of the sea, or Neptune

Port Soderick Complete - Isle of Man by Drone
Port Soderick is a small hamlet to the south of Douglas, capital of the Isle of Man, once famed for its pleasure grounds and beach. In latter years there have been various attempts to rejuvenate the area, all of which have been unsuccessful to date.
The beach area has its own small promenade and hotel (latterly named The Anchor but now closed and abandoned), a suspended walkway (now closed and deemed unsafe), former oyster beds, large building formerly housing an amusement arcade, paddling pool (long since filled in by shingle from the incoming tide, and access the nearby glen of the same name. These days the place is something of a ghost town, disturbed only by the occasional dog walker but it once had its own funicular railway linking the sea level resort with the Douglas Head Marine Drive Railway atop the cliffs above, the remnants of which can still be traced today.
Leisure facility[edit]
The entire site was purchased in the 1990s by Pacini Ltd (an subsidiary of DeBeers) and the entire land was leased to Port Soderick Leisure Ltd a company set up by Andrew Evans of Douglas, Isle of Man with the sole purpose of rebuilding much of the site and operating a water sports facility at the area, primarily scuba diving, sailing, canoeing and jet ski rentals. The original building was gutted save for the original sprung dance floor and was concerted for the most part into the Anchor Pub. The centre opened to much applause and verbal support from the local community and was very popular during the summer. Pacini had however inadvertently leased the small wooden cafe at the site to a separate party who enforced their contract to be the sole supplier of food to the area. Thus robbed of the lucrative profits from food as alcohol consumption fell due to social concerns, the centre's financial viability was stretched. When Pacini decided to pull all future funding this resulted in the lease being given up and control handed to the cafe proprietor, who abandoned the water-sports and ran the pub for a short while before closing its doors for good. The site has limitations mainly associated with decay of the building structures due to lack of maintenance and vandalism and the general deterioration of the old coastal walkways. In addition there is no sewer connection at the site and the sea outfall has long been destroyed.

Footage of Port Soderick - Isle of Man.
The aim is to show there is far more to this island than the TT Races, I love to explore using my Drone and my Motorcycles. My Drone footage even shows me places to re-visit when I view them on the computer screen. Buildings, Valleys, Rivers, Streams, Caves, rock faces that I simply would not know existed until I review this footage. My aim is for you the viewer to also watch these videos and see places that spark that lightbulb moment, they even may make you want to buy a drone and fly the same locations and get closer to those places that I have not yet returned to.

Douglas Station then under steam and a nice fast run at Port Soderick then arriving at Port soderick station, then departs then we go to Goorga woods for a fast pass under full steam and a slight incline makes this shot one of my favorites.
The ducks at Waterworks road hear the train coming as yet again unfull steam it make easy work of the incline..then running down hill into Santon Station then we see the train pass Santon Station non stop. Next wev see the train are at Ballasalla and depart, Then the train arrives at St Marys Port then departs. The next clips is the Pie and Mash late night train pass Castletown on its way to Prt Erin where the train departs and makes its way back to Douglas

A newly formed organisation with the objective of reopening the railway line between Radstock and Frome.
One objective is to set up a base within area 3 of the railway land in Radstock, areas 1 and 2 destined for redevelopment. We aim to reinstate a passenger service along the route, as well as keeping the current cycle-path running alongside. A new station and signal box is due to built here, with the hope if permitted to see the engine shed redeveloped to accommodate a family restaurant, railway museum and a section reserved for storing and maintaining rolling stock. A secure cycle shed on-site will allow passing cyclists to stop for snacks and refreshments
