Porthmadog Golf Club Wales 2011
What a wonderful golf course. I don't think I have ever seen two different nines as the first nine is basically parkland but when you hit number 10 the golf course changes into an absolute beauty of a links course against the edge of Sampson Bay. We met two great guys, Charlie and Steve, and were invited to a Ryder Cup Match. USA finally won a Ryder Cup as we were able to eek out a 2 & 1 victory. Thanks to Charlie for his fine help as he guided us around the course with commentary as you will hear on the video. We were standing on the 13th tee when video shot.

THE BEST LINKS GOLF IN NORTH WALES WITH YOUR GOLF TRAVEL - NEFYN, ST DAVID'S AND MORE
Wales has some of the best kept golfing secrets in the UK, so YGT decided it was time to do some proper exploring to see for itself. Clubs, car and waterproofs were about all that were required for Rory and the crew as they set out for the North and North West shores of Wales with the sole aim of playing some good seaside courses.
They weren't disappointed, discovering epic links and some less heralded courses that can be combined into a couple of cracking tour itineraries, or one really long one!!
Take a look at a couple of the courses (and begin planning your trip!) here:

Happy touring!
Our First Trip to Wales - Porthmadog 2018
Back in July we got our first taste of Wales by taking a trip with our wonderful friends to Porthmadog; the drive took longer than expected but the views were incredible and we caught the most beautiful sunset.
We spent most of the weekend at the beach; the weather was fantastic and it was such a great beach with stunning views all around; we absolutely loved it!
Wales - we'll be back!

Carnifal Porthmadog Carnival 1970's
Yn dilyn mwy o ymchwil credwn mae hon yw'r fideo cywir ar gyfer 1976 oherwydd fel y gwelwch mae baner ar draws y stryd fawr gyda'r geiriau 'Carnifal Awst 21'. Gan fod y carnifal bob amser wedi ei chynnal ar ddydd Sadwrn mae hyn yn cyd-fynd â'r dyddiad ar gyfer y cyfnod hwnnw. Felly, dylai'r fideo blaenorol o'r enw 'Carnifal Porthmadog Carnival 1976' nawr fod yn 'Carnifal Porthmadog Carnival 1974'.
Following further research we believe this is the correct video for 1976 because as you can see there is a big banner across the street with the words' Carnifal Awst 21. As the carnival was always held on a Saturday this coincides with the date for that period. Therefore, the previous video called 'Carnifal 1976 Carnival Porthmadog' should now be 'Carnifal Porthmadog Carnival 1974'.
Gi 2017 Aberdovey
The Gi , also known as the Grinder Invitational, was originally held in December in frosty conditions over 18 holes of the Harleyford Golf Club. The emphasis was very much on the proceeding evening dinner and drinks late in to the night. times have changed. nowadays the golf is the main star of the show and, as the competitors mature, the drinking has faded in to the background and the golf has taken centre stage in this, the season ending event of the famed NGC TOUR. . The venue has also progressed from the 1996 Donald Steel layout to more traditional and revered Links course - the preferred course type of the Tour.
This particular event, the 6th iteration, was played at one of the top Welsh links, Aberdovey Golf Club. A fantastic venue for one of the most exciting Gi's yet..... sit back, brew a nice cuppa and enjoy the action.
