DJI Phantom @ Porthpean Beach, Cornwall, UK
I took the Phantom up from a small field just above the beach and had a fly around and also flew over Duporth beach and as far as Charlestown. Construction criticism always welcome :)
Charlestown, St Austell, Cornwall
Charlestown in Cornwall is an unspoilt example of a late Georgian working port, still being used today. It offers two beaches on either side of the harbour.

Porthpean Beach
Located on the south coast of Cornwall in the St Austell bay lies the small but spectacular Porthpean Beach. Porthpean is just over 2 miles away from St Austell and is very popular whether you're just walking past on the coast path, or whether you're wanting to relax in the quiet bay……
Porthpean is a great beach to visit and is very close to other attractions such as the Eden Project (3 miles away) Heligan Gardens (3 miles away) and the popular fishing town Mevagissey (5 miles away).
Facilities on this beach include:
• Public toilets on the promenade
• Watersports equipment hire
• A privately owned car park with an honesty box
• A small snack bar on the promenade with a shop
• Easy access and disabled access to the beach down a slipway
• Dog friendly (September 30th - Easter Day)
• National Trust Coast path
- Please note that this beach does not have lifeguards
To access Porthpean Beach via the coast path, there are a number of steps to travel down before reaching the beach. This route is not advisable to anyone who has reduced mobility. The car park is around 1 minute away from the beach - You can access the beach down a slipway which has a handrail. The trip back to the car park is uphill, so not as easy! To access the toilets and snack bar, you have to climb about 5 steps from each side.
