[Portland] Fire Rescue NEW Squad 1 Responding! (Day vs. Night)
Captured here is Squad 1 of the Portland Fire and Rescue Bureau responding from fire station no. 1 (Old Town) in Downtown Portland, also known as The Big House. Squad 1 is a new 2018 Pierce Enforcer Walk-In Rescue and replaced an older 2004 American LaFrance heavy-duty rescue truck. Squad 1 is a mix of a heavy rescue and advanced life support medical response unit. According to Portland firefighters the squad is usually sent to more serious medical emergencies while an engine may be sent to deal with less serious calls.
Station 1 specializes in urban search and rescue (USAR), high angle/ rope, trench, confined space, structural collapse and vehicle/ machinery extraction, as well as dive rescue.

*BELL* [Portland] Engine 11 & Rescue 11 Responding Lights and Siren!
Captured here is Engine 11 and Rescue 11 of the Portland Fire & Rescue Bureau's Fire Station 11 in the Lents area. Both units were responding to a motor vehicle incident near the station. Rescue 11 is one of Portland's several medic units, which are often used to respond to less serious medical calls in order to free up engine and truck (ladder) units. Note Engine 11 using the traditional fire bell on the front of the truck! Thank you to the awesome firefighters of Station 11 for welcoming me and showing me their vehicles!

*ELECTRONIC SIREN* [Portland] Fire & Rescue Truck 8 Responding!
Captured here is Truck 8 of Portland Fire & Rescue responding out of Fire Station 8 (Kenton). This station, built in 1959, only houses one aerial truck, which also provides emergency medical services at advanced life support (ALS) level. In this video you can see Truck 8 get a medical call not long after I introduced myself at station 8, and later responding to another medical call in the area. The friendly firefighters kindly demonstrated that Portland's fire trucks do in fact have an electronic siren in addition to their commonly used Federal Q mechanical siren! Although I was told that every fire apparatus in Portland is equipped with an electronic siren it is almost never used, mostly due to tradition, and the firefighters saying that the electronic siren sounds, too much like an ambulance, for their liking. This appears to be the first ever video on YouTube to show a Portland apparatus using the electronic siren!

Planning for Working Waterfronts in Portland, Maine
William (Bill) Needelman, Waterfront Coordinator for the City of Portland, ME discusses the context and evolution of waterfront zoning in the City. Portland’s waterfront zoning law, which provides strong protection for commercial berthing while it allows higher end retail and restaurant uses that help subsidize pier improvements, has become a model for the nation. Mr. Needelman shares the City’s experiences and lessons learned in developing and implementing the new zoning regulations to enable both non-marine uses and traditional marine activity along an urban waterfront.

Port of Portland Engine 80, Foam 85, Battalion 8 Arriving Off-Airport On-Scene of 4 Alarm Fire
In what is one of my rarest and most special buffing moments of my illustrious buffing career I arrived on-scene just in time to catch Port of Portland Fire units arriving to a 4 alarm wind-driven brush fire which extended into multiple structures in NE Portland on 08-26-2019. It is rare to see crash trucks anywhere but on the airfield and was personally a first for me. I will be releasing more clips of this incident and probably do a compilation of the on-scene footage I acquired.
Water supply was a constant issue due to stretch lengths and the amount of water being used taxing the system. F85 was assigned to supply one of the ladder pipes with water since it has a 3000 gallon tank and allowed them another master stream to help get a knock on the fire.
Full assignment was BU14, BU29 (brand new skeeter crew cab), C1, C101, C102, C103, C104, C2,C3,C4, C405, C500, E1, E11, E12, E13, E14, E19, E2, E20, E21, E24, E25, E26, E28, E29, E30, E31, E5, E7, E74, E9, FP131, HC458, I373, I376, I374, MC9, PIO350, PIO361, R19, R23, R31, RHB19, RHB5, S1, T1, T13, T2, T25, T7, T8, WT13, CC306, E80, F85, C8

Portland Maine Blizzard Nemo of 2013
'Surviving Nemo in Portland, Maine...by going to Falmouth!' -- by Chess McGee of The Richter Group - Real Estate Experts in Greater Portland Maine. mainesold.com
On my way home from the Keller Williams office, I stopped at Whole Foods to get some dinner, but like the rest of the city of Portland they were closed. Luckily the Town Landing Market in Falmouth, ME was open! And, they said it will be open tonight until 8:00 unless they lose power. A local, family owned institution, the market is open daily from 7:00 a.m. -- 8:00 p.m. Fresh lobster is always available, the lobster and crab rolls are fantastic, and in the winter you can buy the best fish chowder around! You can also find all of the staples, like milk, juice, beer, wine and the local color coded trash bags. They even have a selection of magazines, Stonewall Kitchen products and more. This trip I grabbed some homemade beef stew and caught a glimpse of the lobsters in action!
Engine 16 responding to medical call (Portland fire and rescue)
Worst fire department in the United States?
I now have a second video of this crew. Please search A broken down fire truck is no good at a fire. Grants Pass Rural Fire Josephine County Oregon
Grants Pass Rural Fire Department has a problem with me posting this video because it makes them look bad. They have called the cops on me 3 times now for telephonic harassment, charges that will never be proven because I know I didn't call so I am in no way worried. It is without a doubt that they will frighten me in any way possible so that I will take this video off youtube. Two Grants Pass Police Officers have told me that posting this DISPARAGING video on youtube is not illegal.
definition of disparaging 1. To speak of in a slighting or disrespectful way; belittle. 2. To reduce in esteem or rank. ***If anybody was DISPARAGING on this video it would be the fire crew themselves.***
Part of Grants Pass Rural's problem with me based on the police report is that I have been posting photos of (GPRFD) fire vehicles on line. Well, if you check out my youtube channel you will see that I have posted several fire departments on line (Grants Pass City, Rural/Metro, illinois Valley, Crescent City, Jacksonville, Medford, Glendale, Canyonville, Roseburg, Coos Bay, Albany, Portland...) and yet no other fire department has ever complained and in all honesty I have had more compliments then anything else (THANKS COOS BAY FIRE!!!). I have also been told that I can not trespass on GPRFD property yet as far as I know i have never trespassed on any fire department property....that is unless you want to count the FDNY fire station for Engine 10 / Ladder 10 or maybe the LAFD Hollywood station (amazing stations and crews btw!).
***IF GPRFD did a perfect job on this fire then I promise you I still would have posted them on youtube. I do have dozens of good videos of other fire departments so it's not like I only film the dumb and stupid and idiotic.*** It is not my fault in any way that they, Grants Pass Rural Fire, make themselves look DISPARAGING. And on a side of caution I am not calling GPRFD dumb or stupid or idiotic, I am just simply saying that I would film the good, bad, stupid and evil.
I would like to mention that this was my friends house just up the road that caught on fire and I originally went over checking if I could help out in any way possible, I WAS IN NO WAY THINKING HOW COULD I MAKE GPRFD LOOK BAD?!?! Now I did wait on the main road for several minutes so that I could point out the correct rural driveway for a rural/metro fire engine (7505??) but other then that I could do nothing else. It was only after I knew I could do nothing more that I started filming. This video was the second time I had filmed a working structure fire (first was the FDNY in Lower Manhattan!) and if you check my youtube you will see that I have recorded many more from that point on.
ONE MORE NOTE AND THIS IS FOR THE EYES OF GPRFD's LINDA MILLER: I post more then just fire department videos. I have posted videos of dozens of concerts, parades, boat races, horse races, county fairs, festivals, air shows, animal life, PLUS New York City, Walt Disney World, President Bush (no comment), Yosemite, the film set for The Muppets on Hollywood BLVD (was amazing!), Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Hoover Dam, Golden Gate Bridge *AND* the University of Oregon Marching Band performing in the 2010 Rose Parade. HECK, SOUNDS LIKE I HAVE AN AMAZING AND VERY FULFILLING LIFE. NOW IF ONLY LINDA MILLER WOULD GET A LIFE! STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT MY VIDEO AND WASTING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S TIME AND START WORKING ON FIXING YOUR FIRE DEPARTMENT!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT?!?!?!?
Grants Pass Rural Fire and Grants Pass CITY Fire do not have anything in common. Also Rural/Metro Fire has nothing in common with Rural Fire. Both Grants Pass City and Rural/Metro are top of the line departments and some of the best crews in Southern Oregon.

5 dead, 1 in critical condition in Portland fire, ME street fire
— Five people have died and another is in critical condition as a result of a fire that broke out at 20 Noyes St. on Saturday morning, according to Portland Fire Chief Jerome LaMoria.
Seven people who had been in the building escaped, he said. That includes the man who is still in critical condition who got out by jumping from a second-story window. After first being taken to the Maine Medical Center, he was brought to a burn center at a Boston hospital with severe burns.
The fire chief did not release the identities of any of the victims. He said he could not confirm whether any were students at the University of Southern Maine, though earlier in the day, Maine State Police spokesman Stephen McCausland said none of them were students.
A statement from the university said that some of the people who live in the building are USM students.
The fire severely damaged the two unit house, which is in a residential neighborhood not far from USM’s campus. The fire was reported at 7:17 on Saturday morning.
LaMoria said late Saturday afternoon that the fire department had not yet made contact with the owner of the building.
State Fire Marshal Joe Thomas and a team of fire marshals were on the scene with Portland firefighters throughout the day Saturday investigating the fire to determine the cause, according to McCausland. They will return to the scene to continue the investigation on Sunday.
Mike Hogan, who lives down the street from the house where the fire occurred, said someone banged on his door just after 7 a.m. Saturday morning trying to alert the neighborhood in case the fire spread. Hogan stepped outside onto the sidewalk, where he said he saw flames shooting out of the building.
He said he’d heard a lot of noise from the house on Friday night.
“I almost called the cops last night and didn’t because it’s Friday night, it’s Halloween and I didn’t want to be that guy,” he said. “Now it’s eating at me, wondering, if I would have called, if it would have made a difference this morning.”
A family support center has been set up at the USM Woodbury Campus Center at 35 Bedford St.
USM said on its website Saturday afternoon: “We are saddened by the news of a three alarm fire near USM’s Portland Campus. At this time we have confirmed that there were USM students residing in the building, however we have no information as to any injuries to the USM students.
“We are working closely with the Portland Police Department, Portland Fire Department, and the American Red Cross to monitor this situation,” the statement continued. It instructed any USM students seeking support to call 207-228-8355.
