Spiaggia di Porto Ferro (Alghero)
Porto Ferro è un'insenatura profonda nella costa, al termine della quale si trova la spiaggia lunga due chilometri, con una sabbia di color giallo-rossastro da cui prende nome. È chiusa da scogli e rilievi in trachite rossa, sorvegliata per la minaccia dei saraceni ben tre torri di avvistamento spagnole del XVII secolo: torre di Bantine Sale o Torre Mozza a sud, torre Negra o Capo Negro e torre Bianca o di Airadu a nord. Nelle vicinanze sorgeva il villaggio medievale di Barace, i cui abitanti commerciavano il sale. È spesso frequentata per il surf e windsurf data la notevole ventosità e altezza delle onde.

Porto Ferro is a bay and a beach on the north-western Sardinian coast towards the sea of Sardinia , between Capo dell'Argentiera and Capo Caccia . Located in the Nurra of the municipality of Sassari , is near the village of Villa Assunta and Lake Baratz , the only natural lake in Sardinia , from which it is separated by the dune system and the pine forest.
Porto Ferro is a deep inlet on the coast, at the end of which is the two kilometer long beach, with a reddish-yellow sand from which it takes its name. It is closed by rocks and reliefs in red trachyte , guarded by the threat of the Saracens as many as three Spanish watchtowers of the seventeenth century : Bantine Sale tower or Torre Mozza to the south, Negra tower or Cape Negro and Torre Bianca or Airadu to the north. Nearby was the medieval village of Barace, whose inhabitants traded salt . It is often frequented for surfing and windsurfing given the considerable windiness and height of the waves.
It can be accessed from the provincial road 55 bis or from the provincial road 69. It is about 35 km from Sassari , 32 km from Porto Torres , 20 km from Alghero and 15 km from Alghero airport .

La bellissima spiaggia di Porto Ferro, famosissima come spiaggia dei surfisti e come luogo suggestivo incontaminato.

Ricordo che la spiaggia di Porto Ferro per quanto si trovi in Comune di Sassari sia molto più vicina ad Alghero si trova infatti subito a nord di Capo Caccia
A sud di Porto Ferro all’interno dell’area marina di Capo Caccia la tranquillità di Mugoni una distesa di due chilometri di sabbia chiara e morbida che si immerge nel mare verde smeraldo completamente riparato dentro la baia di Porto Conte
Per quanto riguarda il mare di porto ferro acqua pulita e spesso mossa ma il bagno si fa tranquillamente
Un vero peccato una grande spiaggia sabbiosa con alle spalle una splendida pineta dove si può assaporare la natura nei suoi diversi aspetti percorsi naturalistici sport acquatici o semplicemente godersi il mare al tramonto
