Places to see in ( Olbia - Italy ) Olbia Beach
Just a few minutes from Olbia, the Saline is the first beach that you can find along the south coast and also the ideal destination for a last dip before coming back from vacation. The beach, rather long, consists of reddish coarse sand and ideal for pleasant walks on the waterline. The seabed, due to the strong backwash, degrades quickly toward 2 meters; it is not by chance that the beach is very popular among lovers of surf and sailing.
The Dottore beach is a small corner of paradise surrounded by greenery and framed by beautiful granite rocks. The sand strand is distinguished by a white very thin sand alternated with small colored pebbles and a wonderful sea of crystalline turquoise color, ideal for snorkelers and scuba divers.
To reach the beautiful beach of Porto Istana apply the same indications given for the beach of Dottore, with the only exception that once you take Viale Porto Istana you must continue until a dirt parking space; a few minutes walk and you will find yourself in front of the sea.
To reach the Tavolara Island, you can take a ferry from Porto S. Paolo, located about 16 km from Olbia and accessible via Strada Statale 125 (SS125). Always along the state road SS125, at the height of Monte Petrosu, you can turn left in Via Molara and thus reach the little bay of Punta Molara.
Salina Bamba Beach is located between Cala Brandinchi and Baia Salinedda in Capo Coda Cavallo, inside of the town of San Teodoro. Continuing along the coast meets Cala Brandinchi that with its crystal clear water and the shallow waters of white sand will remind you of the Caribbean.
Continuing toward south, before encountering the promontory of Puntaldia it is really worth visiting the wonderful beach of Lu Impostu. The name which means place of departure, testifies the fact that very probably in the past the beach of Lu Impostu was used for trade and shipment of goods while today it is a beautiful seaside resort, very loved by those in search of beaches more intimate.
La Cinta is one of the most famous beaches in the whole of Sardinia and one of the attractions the most sought after in San Teodoro. We conclude our exploration of the coast south to Olbia with the enchanting beach of Isuledda, in the municipality of San Teodoro.

Winter 2020 - Evelyn Virag
Cala Li Cuncheddi is located just in front of the Hotel Cala Li Cuncheddi along some typically serene coastline near Porto Istana, Olbia-Tempio. Set in a charming bay called Cala Sos Passizzedos, this pristine beach offers golden sands which are notoriously clean and fine. However, there is also a story behind this hidden treasure as back in 2014, the protected beach of Li Cuncheddi was able to regain its natural beauty through local initiatives. As with many beaches in Sardinia, the sea offers a beautiful crystalline color that collides with emerald green, turquoise, and blue. Consequently, it also has a shallow, sandy bottom with a rocky bed and a reef at either end. The presence of the above-mentioned reefs makes Cala Li Cuncheddi a perfect location for snorkeling, surfing, and other water sports. As with some of the more secluded and less touristic beaches in Sardinia, Cala Li Cuncheddi has an isolated and personable atmosphere, but at the same time, there are also many amenities located not far from the beach including a resort, seaside restaurant, small shops and several more dining options. Cala Li Cuncheddi is never crowded, even in the high season, and for such an immaculately clean and scenic part of the island, it makes this one of the most attractive beaches in north-east Sardinia for tourists and visitors who want a local experience, away from the crowds.
From Olbia south towards San Teodoro, on highway 125 , after about 9 km turn left towards Porto Istana; after 500 m turn left to Capo Ceraso, make another 2 km then turn left towards Capo Ceraso, after more than 800 m we reach the beach.

Places to see in ( Olbia - Italy ) Porto Rotondo
Places to see in ( Olbia - Italy ) Porto Rotondo
Porto Rotondo is located between the Gulf of Cugnana and the Gulf of Marinella, 13 kilometers north of Olbia. Together with Porto Cervo, the “capital” of the Emerald Coast, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations of the Costa Smeralda. Some of its beaches make up the crown to the Emerald Coast, and its marina offers a safe haven to over 600 boats of all sizes. The area surrounding Porto Rotondo is divided into three parts: Punta Nuraghe, Punta Volpe, and Punta Lada. At the heart of this charming village is the Piazzetta San Marco, a peaceful square where locals gather for conversation and tourists lounge in quaint cafe’s enjoying their morning coffee. Ideal for a either short getaway or an extended stay, Porto Rotondo is a small port with a big reputation and some of the most stunning scenery anywhere along the coastline.
This unassuming village is home to one of the most authentic travel experiences in Sardinia which is largely due to the lesser number of tourists in comparison with some other well known destinations. However, this most certainly does not give way to “lesser” experience as Porto Rotondo allows for a wonderful insight into the workings of a small town coastal village and retains an overall immersive local experience for the visitor, while still offering all the comforts of the modern world.
Named after the circular nature of the bay on which it was built, Porto Rotondo has a very unique appearance in that the port itself is almost entirely enclosed, while on the outer side of this sheltered bay, you can find the most idyllic beaches and a number of exclusive resorts in between. The village is picturesque in every sense and most notable is the collage of colors of the surrounding area, from the reflection of the sun on the many expensive yachts docked in the harbor, the stunning white sandy beaches, the turquoise blue of the Mediterranean, to the green and luscious sporadic spaces. Although the nearby beaches are often referred to as paradise in appearance, the rolling landscapes and hills that stretch outward from the town are as idyllic as they come and leave little wonder as for why so many tourists return to vacation in Porto Rotondo on a yearly basis.
Developed in the late 1960’s by a wealthy Italian aristocrat (Donà delle Rose), this tiny port is now considered a luxury resort which is easily evidence in the number of expensive yachts in the harbor, not to mention the increase in exclusive hotels or villas that crop up in the surrounding area every year. Infused with a large number of fine dining restaurants with world class cuisine, charming cafe’s serving high quality blends of coffee, a surprisingly vibrant nightlife and prominent historical attractions such as the San Lorenzo Church and a man made amphitheatre, Porto Rotondo has something for everyone, albeit it sometimes comes with a monetary value. The perfect base for day trips by boat to beaches like Spiaggia dei Sassi and Punta Asfodelo, Porto Rotondo is a stunning destination where natural scenery meets an authentic local village and having made the effort to reach this pocket in the north-east of Sardinia, one thing is for sure; you will enjoy all it has to offer from the moment the sun reaches the sand and then remembering it long after it goes down.
