Italy: Amalfi Coast Drive from Sorrento to Positano
The Amalfi Drive (formally Strada Statale 163) is the conventional name of a stretch of road which runs along the stretch of the Amalfi Coast between the southern Italian towns of Sorrento and Amalfi. The road was originally built by the Romans. The drive between Salerno, at the southern base of the peninsula, and Positano follows the coast for about 80 km (50 mi).
For the greater part of its route, the road is carved out of the side of the coastal cliffs, giving spectacular views down to the Tyrrhenian Sea and on the other side up to the towering cliffs above. The road passes through the village of Positano, which is built on the side of the hill. Both the village and the whole drive are leading tourist attractions in the area.
The Amalfi coast is an UNESCO-listed landscape lined with small towns precariously perched between mountains & the sea.

The BEST way to Get to Positano! ⛴
How to Guide to getting to Postiano on the Amalfi Coast (including a stop in the town of Amalfi). Know the right way before you go -there are several ways to get to Positano, Italy (via SITA bus from Sorrento, car service, etc). Taking the Travelmar ferry from Salerno is the best combination of speed and value. Only 1 hour and 15 minutes, the ferry is quicker than the bus or taxi and offers the best views. Getting to Positano is easy, leaving is much harder.

A Day in Naples - Day trip from Positano
A day trip from Positano to Naples is one of my favourite things to do. Naples is only an hour and 20 minutes drive from Positano and there is just so much to see and do there.
We drove into the city (you can get the train from Sorrento) and walked from the station towards SpaccaNapoli, weaving our way through a few street markets. SpacaNapoli led us onto Via Toledo one of the main shopping streets. From there we ducked into the Spanish Quarters for lunch and afterwards we caught the funicular train up to Vomero. There we visited the Castel Sant'Elmo with a birds eye view of the city. We took the steps back down from Vomero and after visiting some friends we jumped on the metro back to Piazza Garibaldi .

From London to Positano | Travel Vlog through the Amalfi Coast, Italy
London ✈️ Naples ????️ Sorrento ???? Positano
We recently journeyed to the Amalfi Coast to get married. In this video we document our getting from London to Positano. Which means travelling by plane, bus, ferry, bus, bus, and walking for over half an hour...
The journey we took cost us around 20 Euros, rather than 150 Euros for a taxi and while it did take a long time to get there, it had amazing stops and views. Hopefully this video will help fellow travellers looking to save on the direct Taxi journey and enjoy a less hectic ride on a ferry rather than cramming it on a bus.
